Oct 7 23:53:53 David vs Goliath: What the government doesn't want you to know ♥ 1 This was fun - loved the story and art - would be cool to see more robot -bullet hell in the future. If the story was continued and like x-men, they kept developing tougher and tougher robots that all ended up getting taken down by a spear to the face 😄
Oct 8 00:27:54 34m 01s Home place ♥ 2 Very cool - really loved the story and the exploration, great stuff for such a short time. The black and white aesthetic worked well. Maybe it's being old and all, but i didn't realise I'd already collected everything until the end 😄 Screenshot 2024-10-08 012457.png
Oct 8 00:36:03 8m 09s Blood Crux ♥ 3 Very cool - I struggled a little with 3rd person and getting distance on the zombies, but very cool for 3 days. Would be great to see more development of the game. Screenshot 2024-10-08 013503.png
Oct 8 10:22:34 9h 46m Sammich ♥ 4 Wow amazing work! Really super polished game. The mechanic is great and a real challenge to keep the sandwich balanced. 😃 Bonus points for the epic cut-scenes and the creative mode. Would definitely be something that could be released as a full game , with more food types perhaps ( and locations 😄 like on a train / boat with extra inertial forces ) Top marks!
Oct 8 10:58:34 36m 00s G-news ♥ 4 Amazing work! Love the art style, and love the fact you're recording the music yourself to add extra authenticity. The music was fantastic and the art reminiscent of the old point-and-click adventures like Sam & Max - really enjoyed the character design and animation. Great stuff! Top marks!
Oct 8 11:47:48 49m 14s Derpy ♥ 3 This was pretty fun, I really love the set-up of all the cars on the shelf and the zooming into the area on the floor. Would be great to see this with some proper time spent on it to iron out the issues - definitely could see this being a cross between [Flatout - Ultimate Carnage](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=flatout+ultimate+carnage) and some of the old [Micro Machines](https://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/micro-machines-world-series) games. Flat-out especially for the time had some great visible damage and effects on cars ( wheels falling off, steering going wonky ) - so would be cool to see here, but with 'matchbox' car style, like the wheels just being held on with the single metal pin etc. 😄
Oct 8 12:04:03 16m 15s Stacked Creatures ♥ 1 So glad you persevered and made something dude! Great work, even more so as a compo entry. ✌️ A great concept well executed, really enjoyed the increasing difficulty and abilities. if you decide to take it beyond the compo and develop more, it's a unique concept and open to plenty more level design. Sad to say, my gaming skill failed me in this part. I'll await a playthough from someone good to know where I went wrong 😃 Screenshot 2024-10-08 125833.png
Oct 8 12:12:46 8m 43s Night Critter ♥ 2 Very unique style- really liked the memory aspect of the game, when you start out with the smaller grids , you think it'll be easy, but gets super challenging by level 4 onwards 🦇 Screenshot 2024-10-08 131043.png Props for recording the soundtrack on guitar - very cool!
Oct 8 12:22:03 9m 17s Head'quarters ♥ 2 Wow great stuff. I was thinking it'd be pretty easy from the first few challenges but it soon got more difficult with the timing and with the symbols themselves 😱 As others have said, amazing work on sound design and overall style, love the art & animation.
Oct 8 12:32:19 10m 16s Need For Snail:midnight ♥ 0 Love the art and the incredible attention to detail - all the options for vehicles, maps etc . very cool. I struggled a little with the learning curve, especially around obstacles and extras, very cool though - great job with the retro aesthetic.
Oct 8 12:51:43 19m 24s Animal Golfing ♥ 3 Wow, a super polished game. Like golf crossed with Pokemon! Would definitely be cool to see more of this with some more levels and possibly simpler practice zone to try learn the different animal abilities. It's also be cool to maybe visualise the first part of the parabola of the ball, it was quite hard to gauge power / direction well enough to make a decent shot, and possibly some kind of acceleration on the turning part of aiming would be cool - my mouse did some miles trying to turn the player around if I'd ended up facing a wall / rock / tree / cliff-edge etc.
Oct 8 13:08:59 17m 16s My Keyboard is Full of Ants! ♥ 2 Amazing - what a great concept. Really loved the way all the typed words ended up on the company memo in between rounds. Excellent work for a compo, really impressed with the all-round polish and attention to detail. I'll have to check out PyGame - the engine I use is over 12 years old now and not supported. 😭
Oct 8 13:15:34 6m 35s Small things ♥ 1 Wow , that's super impressive - really cool seeing a real-world set-build! 😋 If you continue beyond the compo - it would be fun to see more environments, and interactions , maybe even using gaussian splatting / photogrammetry to bring it into 3d ( along with the characters ) .
Oct 8 17:27:12 4h 11m Rat Game ♥ 2 This was great - I loved the level of detail, especially in the kitchen level . Great art style too. Your cat had some super realistic sound fx, I need to add some to mine. 😄
Oct 8 17:34:46 7m 34s Right To Bear Fins ♥ 1 Loved the art style, reminded me of the early days of ultra-violent flash cartoons from Joe Cartoon or Happy Tree friends. Like others said, only minor downside was reloading and lack of some visceral sfx .
Oct 9 20:33:56 26h 59m Carrot Patch ♥ 1 Really interesting to see the code for Pico 8. Thanks for sharing! 😎 It'd be cool to maybe have a heart restoring carrot, once every new difficulty wave - or bonus points for the drunk carrots that reverse the controls - if you survive 😄 Screenshot 2024-10-09 213103.png
Oct 9 20:46:06 12m 10s Tiny Beast Hunter ♥ 2 Would be cool to change up the controls / add some mobile/touchscreen buttons if you do some post-compo tweaks. Cool concept, the controls were very twitchy so makes the player have to be super precise. Being able to fire out the sucked up bugs as bullets would be a fun addition 👻 Screenshot 2024-10-09 214309.png
Oct 9 21:13:34 27m 28s Tiny Creature Rescue ♥ 1 I liked the pixelly graphics and the light effects. The controls on wall jump / landing were a little tricky and difficult to master, some coyote time, grid snapping for wall-jumps could be some minor tweaks if you were to continue developing post-compo I honestly felt like I'd died more than 59 times 😸 Screenshot 2024-10-09 221053.png
Oct 11 00:45:21 27h 31m Squirrel puncher ♥ 1 Pretty cool - the controls were a bit on the sensitive side but the theme was great and concept was fun. Some tweaking of the physics on the mushroom jumps, and punishment for falling out the tree ( or off the boss level ) would make it feel more risky 😄 Screenshot 2024-10-11 014122.png Screenshot 2024-10-11 013847.png
Oct 11 23:03:31 22h 18m Shrimpy ♥ 3 Great art style and music. Like others have said, if you were to make some post-jam tweaks, maybe a one-shot super-jump , or a jump that uses a few points of the score, for occasions where the randomly generated platforms hand you an impossible gap would be cool.
Oct 11 23:40:02 36m 31s ONE MILLION MICROSCOPIC KITTENS ♥ 3 Pretty cool , loved all the attention to detail in the environment and the sound design. A very polished game. If you were to continue to develop post-jam, maybe some different kinds of cat scanners / devices would be cool, and maybe some more ways to thwart the doombas than spriting/jumping or trying to reset them. Screenshot 2024-10-12 003553.png Edit- I thought I'd lost at two points, one when I was trying to get cats from behind the desk with the microscope and got caught on the chair ( the cats were in the Kitchen on the other side of the wall ) and probably in the first few minutes when I realised there was a target above the microscope, but wasn't sure if all the kittens dropped were munched by the vaccuum cleaners or if they kinda 'respawned' 🤔
Oct 11 23:52:25 12m 23s Springtail ♥ 1 Very cool, really liked the animation and the style. Maybe a little quicker on the recovery front would be cool, like having random button mashing throw his limbs around wildly to slow down a spin/bounce/slide so there's a bit more friction. Where the bounces are somewhat random also, some kind of visual feedback on the power of the jump ( an actual visual meter/ring ui or just have the bug squat / vibrate more intensely like he's holding the power in ) would make it a little more predictable.
Oct 11 23:59:54 7m 29s Dr Shrink and the Horrors of the Infinite ♥ 2 Very cool, really great idea to have the same level at different scales, very unique! I struggled when he became really small as the creatures ( ants in particular) gave no quarter 😢 It's a unique concept, top marks for innovation, if you did develop again beyond the compo , a few tweaks to the jumping / throwing mechanics would make it more fun for sure.
Oct 12 00:12:00 12m 06s Build The Sun ♥ 2 I think I spent about 4-5 hours all in playing this! You're onto an epic theme here - for a jam game it has a bunch of depth. It'd be great to see more development of the civilisations - the mechanic of the different types of worker jumping onto the thing to build / destroy was really fun. I never saw it to completion as no save and I had to get to sleep as a work night - will definitely be looking forward to a version with perhaps more impact of the farms / houses so there's less of a grind - even when I had a bunch of farm-land/houses, spawning of fresh blob guys felt quite slow ) The only other thing, you're probably already aware of, which caught me off guard when I got my first pick-axe dude, was that holding over a dude will remove their speciality. When trying to chop trees or build fires etc, sometimes a guy who wasn't the right type would wander into the mouse zone, then inadvertently erase his speciality/hat/power etc. Screenshot 2024-10-11 013422.png
Oct 13 11:42:43 35h 30m Stuart's Perfect Day ♥ 2 It's a cool concept, first one I've played so far that's also made using Construct - which is cool to see ( I'm still on Construct 2 ) Really like the animation effects on the boat / character, how everything feels kinda squishy / elastic. Some small feedback on the fishing cycle could be nice, if there were certain distances /depths / speeds to cast, to get different fish, and some UI feedback ( timer circle / bar ) to show if fish were nibbling etc.
Oct 13 15:19:42 3h 36m Small Critters ♥ 1 Pretty cool - liked the idea of playing as the swarm of creatures. It maybe could be cool to have a central 'champion' that's it's clearer where he is headed, and some path-finding etc so critters don't get left behind when snared on corners / rocks etc. Overall a fun game with lots of depth for a compo , definitely one that could be evolved post-jam, especially the levelling up mechanic and some more creatures to use :)
Oct 14 21:19:41 29h 59m Adelie - When We Were Young ♥ 1 Very cool! Loved the animations of the creatures, it got tough pretty quickly after the seals entered the fray. 😃 Screenshot 2024-10-14 221727.png
Oct 14 22:19:43 1h 00m Tiny Mushy Froggies ♥ 1 Oof that was tough. Maybe a little more wiggle room between the perfect jump and the failed jump would be cool - I think the jump/arrows could be combined so rather than separate direction and jump, you just hold the arrow/wasd for the correct timing. Great art and classic sound effects. I never made it to the other side sadly. 😢 Screenshot 2024-10-14 231914.png
Oct 16 20:39:41 46h 19m Fry Quest ♥ 3 The twists and turns with the plot, and the mini-games , very cool. It reminded me a big of Mimpy-Dreams, a game my son plays with the art-style and puzzles. The lazer cat and ddr bits were my favourite.
Oct 21 20:33:26 119h 53m Heartlings ♥ 1 This was very cool - great to see hand-made characters 😃 Was like listening to a UK version of a kurzgesagt video.
Oct 21 20:44:06 10m 40s tiny Accident ♥ 0 Cool idea, the maze was a little tough to navigate with quite high mouse sensitivity, and though I could make it past the pencil, I couldn't figure how to get past the ants, 😢 If you make an expanded version of the game, some checkpoints would be a cool addition perhaps. 😄
Oct 21 20:52:39 8m 33s Far From Fairies ♥ 2 Loved the art style, I sucked at climbing up the big cube thing with the ropes. IF you added snapping or something like @m2tias suggested, it'd make the rope more predictable. Or if you collect certain fairy to do vertical/ horizontal bridges / ropes for more of a puzzle element? Screenshot 2024-10-21 214954.png
