Apr 20 09:41:13 Sweet Resurrection ♥ 1 Definitely looks nice! The gameplay was easy to get into, and I liked the puzzle elements of setting the electricity and making potions (although it took me a while to tell the difference between hemlock and sassaffras). Don't feel it's exactly in the theme of "Keep It Alive" as it feels more like "Bringing to Life", but other than that its solid work! Not sure if it was already done and I couldn't see it, but I'd recommend having the switch boxes and ingrediants randomized for a bit of challenge. Having the wires change locations or changing the ingrediants around on each stage to give it a bit of challenge and reduce the predictability.
Apr 20 10:07:22 26m 09s The Little Ship That Could ♥ 2 This game was so challenging it took me 18 deaths just to get a score! The main challenge is actually making sure you land where you're going to be, instead of where you aim. I don't recall seeing any instructions or controls, so it was by complete guessing that **Left-Click = Teleport** and *Right Click = Lock**. Personally I would have made lock the default. Otherwise, it's fun in the infuriatingly challenging kind of way! Capture.PNG
Apr 20 10:21:45 14m 23s Battery Panic ♥ 2 Brilliant take on Tetris! It takes a while to avoid the aim of clearing lines and strategically place batteries in not only the right location but the right way around. The graphics look really good too! Great work!
Apr 20 10:40:58 19m 13s Keep it alive ♥ 1 Good level design, things definitely got interesting when you had more than one person to control. Managed to get through seven of the eight levels.
Apr 20 10:48:04 7m 06s Fermi Paradox ♥ 1 I think the game starts off way too easy, I was progressing through eight levels before I got any worthwhile reward. I never even got to shoot anything, just deflect projectiles in a Breakout fashion. Also the graphics appear to be a bit blurry for some reason.
Apr 20 10:53:15 5m 11s Shy Talker - Keep the Conversation Alive ♥ 1 Neat take on the theme. A pretty solid and easy to play memory game with a moody atmosphere.
Apr 20 11:00:55 7m 40s Crossing Animals ♥ 1 Fun concept. Definitely liked the addition of the capture photo.
Apr 20 11:07:06 6m 11s Orbit One ♥ 3 Good game with a modest difficulty curve, could easily see it work as a simple mobile timewaster. Not sure how it fits in with the theme though.
Apr 20 11:12:08 5m 02s Desolation ♥ 0 It looks like the game isn't scaling properly, the entire layout goes off the screen. Good job for 12 hours though!
Apr 20 11:20:18 8m 10s Solais ♥ 2 Lovely looking game, and keeping the fire alive is a good task in this kind of platformer. I did find it hard to make out spikes but I managed to get through the game. Great work!
Apr 20 11:44:14 23m 56s Wave Teaches Typing ♥ 0 Very novel concept, especially for a typing game. Took a while to get used to, since you have to factor in for a space on phrases in later levels. Would be neat if there was an endless or random mode, so that the player wouldn't be able to memorise a set of words for a given level. Took a while but I managed to get A rank on all five levels, I'm guessing there's an S rank if you get all perfects?
Apr 20 20:10:10 8h 25m Ambulance chase ♥ 1 Pretty fun and straightforward. Pretty easy to defeat the opponent.
Apr 21 19:00:05 22h 49m Clerical Error ♥ 2 There is a lot of multitasking in this game. Trying to make sure one of the party members didn't get hit with fireballs is hard enough, but three?! I would have liked a title screen or an in-game description of the controls, it took me a while to adjust after being immediately thrown into the game itself.
Apr 21 19:43:37 43m 32s Keep It Alive ♥ 1 This game looks great and has an incredible storyline! I especially like the sounds used for the dialogue text and the multitasking element was truly hectic. I'd be interested in seeing what a hard mode would be like.
Apr 21 21:11:53 1h 28m Life Aber Die ♥ 1 Solid platformer with a good bit of physics in there. Two things I have is that there should be more of an advantage to keeping both heads alive, and there should be more obstacles that prevent you from staying near the middle. The game gets much easier when one head dies, and all you do is wait in one spot for the food to fall so you can bounce it into their mouths.
Apr 21 21:51:04 39m 11s Jeffers Strikes Back ♥ 0 The sounds are definitely the highlight. The roguelike gameplay feels very basic though, and it's not very easy to regain health.
Apr 21 22:16:33 25m 29s Dino spin ♥ 3 This game was adorable, there were some levels which looked impossible even with the double jump factored in, but the graphics and sound made this feel really wholesome.
Apr 22 10:44:38 12h 28m Tumbleweed ♥ 2 This has to be the best looking game I've seen at this Jam so far! The enviroments look incredibly well detailed, and the futuristic set pieces really blend well with the desert. Biggest gripe however is the controls, for some reason the mouse dragging isn't always responsive, so there were multiple occassions where I died because I was unable to get the wind to blow in the direction I wanted to despite clicking and dragging the mouse multiple times in the direction I wanted to. I think either clicking from the centre, or for gamepad the analog stick combined with a button press, would have been a much better way to play the game with.
Apr 22 10:54:32 9m 54s Northern Pirates ♥ 1 Nice stuff! The voice over made it funny for me. Movement controls were a bit awkward but once you got a handle of it the rest of the game flows quite nicely.
Apr 22 11:02:02 7m 30s READ THE LABEL ♥ 1 This game fits the theme in a pretty morbid yet creative way. Having to carefully read the label under a time limit is particularly challenging, and the later difficulty levels ramp up the challenge by making you remember what you previously fed as well. I'm not sure what kind of engine you use, but having resolution restrictions and being unable to close the game like @almighty-games pointed out is a big issue.
Apr 22 13:06:59 2h 04m Beat Savior ♥ 0 The game works really well with custom music, it was very rare that I got misses that I felt should have really been hit on the beat of the music. Also love the bloom and the futristic design. Great work!
Apr 22 13:16:54 9m 55s Gryphon Peaks ♥ 0 I really love the look of this, you combine low-poly with dithering in a way that is incredibly appealing to nostalgia filled glasses. The controls were rather awkward though, it would have been better to handle turning/aiming with the mouse and having other keys to move.
Apr 22 13:29:02 12m 08s PARTY ON! ♥ 0 This was definitely enjoyable! It was a nice touch having the main character bounce around, you definitely should have implemented that into the crowd as well. I did find the setting a bit odd though, if the vending machine and toilets are at the side of the dance hall, why does the DJ need to go out to get drinks and toilet paper for people?
Apr 22 14:42:01 1h 12m Don't Let The Wave Breakout ♥ 1 Really liked the minimalism and neon look, and it was a neat addition to include a line to render where you'll end up going once you hit a block.
Apr 22 14:46:01 4m 00s Keep our planet alive ♥ 1 Very nice looking low-poly planet. This is a fairly relaxing game, but it'd be nice if there was more variety. I feel you should reward players for catching asteroids as early as possible somehow.
Apr 22 15:19:34 33m 33s Pacman's Dream ♥ 1 Interesting control scheme.
Apr 22 16:02:45 43m 11s HEART LORDS ♥ 0 I love the art style! I do wish there was a better visual indicator that you are hurting the enemies.
Apr 22 16:53:55 51m 10s The Dark Cave ♥ 1 This looks like what happens when Limbo is crossed with Thomas was Alone. Great atmosphere and use of sounds. I did have to exploit the death reset in order to get past the spider though, there didn;t seem to be any other way around it.
Apr 22 22:47:24 5h 53m All Systems Grow [LD46: KEEP IT ALIVE] ♥ 3 Very well polished retro platformer. I liked the changing platform mechanics, as they had to make you think about when you timed your steps. I think the only room I struggled with was the one where you stand on a lowering platform towards four horizontal pillars, it was difficult to position yourself right to avoid being hit and I made the mistake of jumping upon immediately entering it for the first time. Ended up finishing the game in 528 seconds with 58 deaths, I'd be impressed with what a speedrun of this game would look like.
Apr 23 09:16:16 10h 28m FlameOver ♥ 2 Great idea having to block the fire from wind and rain. Took me a while to realise you could replenish the fire using wood as well.
Apr 23 09:56:50 40m 34s The HeartBeat ♥ 1 Love the artwork you've done on this! Incredibly detailed scenes. Brilliant concept too, having to make swift political decisions while maintaining your heartbeat. It definitely helped that the music went in beat to your heartrate, although I feel the music should at least loop instead of abruptly going silent.
Apr 23 10:08:22 11m 32s Efi ♥ 0 This was an incredibly fun and cartoony take on Snake. Loved the overall style and some of the challenges. Found it interesting that the speed areas increased your speed regardless of direction despite what the arrows suggested (they could have slowed you down in the opposite direction).
Apr 25 11:12:55 49h 04m Keep It Charged ♥ 1 I think there needs to be a rule of if you are making an isometric game, you cannot use the traditional directional keys (Up, Down, Left, Right) because it's confusing to recall which way pressing up or right goes. Apart from that, it's a fun puzzle game, and I liked the short music loop accompanying it, and the messages on the wall were really funny. You really should have put in checkpoints though.
Apr 25 11:26:32 13m 37s Stroller Rover ♥ 1 A pleasent and colourful space game. It's a good touch that you had to constantly conserve and charge the rover, and if you run out of charge you become immobile, it does add to the pressure of constantly keeping your astronaut alive whilst charging up the rocket.
Apr 29 19:50:29 104h 23m Tunnel Vision ♥ 1 I like the visual aesthetic of it, and it controls incredibly smootly, but I would have prefered the obstacles to fade in gradually instead of popping into existence. Great work getting 3D perlin noise implemented.
May 12 09:33:41 301h 43m Miss Tommybird the Protector ♥ 0 Good music, a bit difficult to control but my god a bird with a gun was a lot more funnier than I expected!
