| Dec 3 02:49:21 | The Cure | ♥ 0 | Really enjoyed this game reminded me of being a kid and doing logic puzzles. I also enjoy the intergration with the theme of sacrifice. The only major problems I have with the game is that its standard resoution when played through HTML5 is awkward on my moniter, but that is fixed by just fullscreening the game. Also the music feels like its a little loud, but that might just be my speakers so take that with a grain of salt. I did notice a minor bug in that the worlds population count does not render while the game is playing on HTML5. The aestetic of the game worked well nothing looked like it didnt match its surroundings. I will say some of the icons where a bit confusing to me personally, but you added tool tips so I am fine with them being somewhat ambiguous. Overall I enjoyed the game. | |
| Dec 3 03:08:20 | 18m 59s | Ludum Dare: The Game | ♥ 1 | Truely this is art imatating life. I coded and coded and coded and the only thing that stops me from coding is debuging and hunger. I really like this game. |
| Dec 3 03:11:37 | 3m 17s | SQUARES | ♥ 0 | Gotta love that screen shake when you shoot. Gives a nice satisfying feeling (unless your bad at games like me then it turns into an earthquake simulator). |
| Dec 3 03:16:24 | 4m 47s | Sacrifices | ♥ 0 | I don't particularly care for this game. Which is funny because I can see how an idea like this could be used to great effect if it where made into something closer to a game like anti-chess (chess where you try to lose). I understand 48 hours is not a large amount of time but I still wish there was even a little more to it (even just a punch sound). |
| Dec 3 03:20:51 | 4m 27s | Tezcacoatl's Dance Dance Paradise | ♥ 3 | Games made in 48 hours aren't supposed to be this good. The only real probelm I had is that I have real difficulty even inputing the diagonals which can feel a little unfair, but I mean the game is really good. Like I would pay money for this game good. |
| Dec 3 03:40:34 | 19m 43s | Temple of the Blood God | ♥ 2 | Really intersting gameplay wise controlling three characters at the same time. I will say the controls where not to my liking it kinda felt like everything was covered on ice. I know from the launcher you used Unity so I am assuming you probably handled player movement using an addforce to a rigidbody2d which I know from experience can make it so every movement has ridiculus amounts of inertia (if I am wrong about this and it was intentional then feel free to tell me to shove it). That being said its fine for having been made in 48 hours and I am more than willing to chock up slippy floors to "Its a cave with moss that is slippy" so really solid game. Also thank you for having the option on the title screen to turn off music. I mean I kept it on because I really enjoyed it, but its always nice for a game to give options like that. |
| Dec 3 03:51:40 | 11m 06s | The Temple of Falala | ♥ 1 | It certainly plays well. It feels like the gameplay is solid the only times I felt like the game was cheating was with the green floor tiles. I wish there was a more noticable feature than just the noise for when you lose health. Something like a red flash or tint taking over the screen for a moment would really help inform the player. I really liked the little voice clips for when you enter the sacrifice room or place a key into its portal. |
| Dec 3 04:03:20 | 11m 40s | Can't Get No Sacrifaction | ♥ 2 | I really like the sacrifice system. I know in the description you say that you spent to long on it but I really dig it as a mechanical idea. Also the begginning dialog is really enjoyable. My only complant is that when "The Sacraficer" got super speed how did he not get the ability to also stop on a dime I mean its like asking to live forever and not also saying "but like still look young and not turn into the worlds oldest human". |
| Dec 3 04:17:59 | 14m 39s | Purgatory | ♥ 1 | Really interesting. I wont lie the lack of instructions telling me what to do or what was going on did confuse me at first, but once I stopped being an idiot and realized you could move with WASD it became very clear what was happening and I really started to enjoy the game. Also I must say I really enjoy the look this game has going for it. The minimal details in each level make it very clear and easy to read what is happening on the screen. I do wish when you died once you didn't lose all your progress, but you can really only do so much in 48 hours so. |
| Dec 3 04:26:45 | 8m 46s | Penance | ♥ 1 | Beautiful game. Games like this make me really wish I had better graphics for my game. I also enjoyed your gameplay, but I don't like some of your collision choices. I understand that I can't walk through hay piles, but it felt a little bit like they had been left directly in the path of movement to walk towards an enemy. Also didn't care for the archers ability to shoot me when they are off screen. However at least the actually enemy damage levels didn't make it feel unfair. |
| Dec 3 04:38:08 | 11m 23s | Oblation | ♥ 1 | YES. I really like this game. This games greatest strength is that it feels complete. A lot of games feel like they clearly had more to them that got left on the cutting room floor not this game it feels finished. I mean I really like the cool demom heads showing up when sacrificing, and stuff. The only critisim I have is that I wish there was a little more in it content wise, but if I got that wish I imagine it would end up sacrificing the finished feel of the game. |
| Dec 3 04:47:27 | 9m 19s | Typeless | ♥ 1 | Im sorry I would love to tell you that I think your favorite hobby is dancing but unfortunatly I sacraficed the letter N not realizing just how important it could be so I'm just gonna say you like to Bowl. This game was really good I enjoy the unique take on sacraficing things. I also really like the unintentional comedy of realising that I just sacrificed an important letter without really thinking about it. |
| Dec 3 04:54:20 | 6m 53s | Alien Escape | ♥ 0 | I enjoy the gameplay, but I really can't stand the color choices. I understand the idea of it being an alien world and all, but I feel like playing this for longer than ten minutes or so would start to hurt do to the brightness of the pink. |
| Dec 3 05:19:43 | 25m 23s | Slithering Dark | ♥ 0 | Pretty good. I enjoyed the aspect of never knowing if one of the dark mosters was gonna be just in front of my face when I turned a corner. However I feel like some of there placements where a little silly specifically the ones that where placed directly ontop of a pod. |
| Dec 3 06:12:20 | 52m 37s | Flightless | ♥ 1 | I love it. I especially love how it fits the theme in a way I never would have thought of. |
| Dec 3 06:18:51 | 6m 31s | King's Last Stand | ♥ 1 | I reached round seven and goodness there where a lot of enemys, but I really enjoyed it. |
| Dec 3 06:27:41 | 8m 50s | Eskate Death | ♥ 1 | My god these might be some of the best sprites I have ever seen. |
| Dec 3 06:37:43 | 10m 02s | Apropos of Apophis | ♥ 1 | Could use a little music but the writing is pretty funny. Also best ending possible. |
| Dec 3 06:48:53 | 11m 10s | Pyre of Vigil | ♥ 1 | Its amazing what you did in fourtyeight hours. I really like the music track you have in the background its simple and thematic, but doesnt grate on your ears like some loops. |
| Dec 3 06:54:05 | 5m 12s | SMASHTEC | ♥ 1 | Controls feel a little slippy but then again I was controlling the equivalent of an Aztec baskett-ball so I can let poor controls slide. |
| Dec 3 07:03:53 | 9m 48s | Body Smasher | ♥ 0 | Great game but the sound seemed a little... off I don't know quite how to put it. It sounded ohmost like it was stuttering. If this was intentional then thats fine but it grinded on my senses a little to much. |
| Dec 3 07:15:46 | 11m 53s | Blueberry Bounce | ♥ 1 | I really like that every object can interact with seemly every other object it really gives the chance at emergent gameplay (such as my favorite play style of just using one bouncer to jugle blueberrys across the map). |
| Dec 3 07:28:04 | 12m 18s | Hours of the Day | ♥ 0 | You executed this idea really well. That being said I personally wish this game operated on a system closer to a game like FTL where you pause then make the desision or at least just put the control of swapping days in my hands. Most of the time playing this it feels like I am sitting there waiting for the last 15 seconds to pass so I can get to the next day. |
| Dec 3 07:38:33 | 10m 29s | SATIATE! | ♥ 0 | Not gonna lie maybe its just that I am a little more tired than I thought I was but I had a really hard time figuring out what was going on in this game. I got it eventually, but still it was a little consufsing. |
| Dec 3 07:40:25 | 1m 52s | Elementalist | ♥ 1 | I wish this game had a tutorial button in it. I will admit its mostly my fault for skipping past the description to get to playing the game, and I fully understood what was going on once I stopped being an idiot and read your discription and realized what the color orbs and arrows in the corner where trying to tell me, but still just to make it idiot proof I wish there was a tutorial. |
| Dec 3 07:42:20 | 1m 55s | The Altar of Sacrifice | ♥ 0 | Good game. I love the look of anything Pico-8 and who doesn't love sacraficing there neighbor's. Best past is the ending if you fail made me giggle a little. |
| Dec 3 17:50:27 | 10h 08m | Knight Soul Redemption | ♥ 0 | Really enjoyable. The only problem I had while playing is standing to close to enemies and having there projectile hit me while I had my shield up. |
| Dec 3 18:00:45 | 10m 18s | Depth | ♥ 2 | Really nice game. The artwork is very cute looking. I especially love when you sacrafice your armor and your knight just becomes a naked square. |
| Dec 3 18:18:05 | 17m 20s | Evolve | ♥ 1 | Great game and an interesting use of a sacrifice mechanic. |
| Dec 3 18:29:25 | 11m 20s | Curse of the eastern god | ♥ 0 | Really fun game. Only thing I didnt like was the ocassional walk to the other side of the screen to activate the next scene. It felt like it slowed down the pace a little. Other than that really good. |
| Dec 3 18:36:42 | 7m 17s | Dungeon Sacrifice | ♥ 1 | I really like the concept of sacraficing people to progress, but I am not a huge fan of the walking speed in this game. When you take the walking speed and add the fact that every three hits you get sent back to spawn it made me feel like I am treading the same ground a lot personally. |
| Dec 3 18:41:55 | 5m 13s | DEMON HELL | ♥ 1 | I like it. I will say the chromatic aberation effect on the main menu title text works really well for the some of the pallets, but for others it feels ohmost like it has double vision. |
| Dec 3 18:54:43 | 12m 48s | Owlgod Forest | ♥ 1 | Really solid game. I love the little walking sound the cultist make. My only real complant for this game is that you have to use the arrow keys with no option to use WASD. Using both arrow keys and mouse feels a little awkward because of the closeness of my hands on my desk. |
| Dec 3 18:57:01 | 2m 18s | A flight to the gallows | ♥ 0 | Fantastic. Played this late last night I really loved it. The graphics are really nice and I love the implimentation of sacrifice through cutting weight free from the ship. |
| Dec 3 19:15:29 | 18m 28s | Hello operator. | ♥ 1 | Pretty interesting. I defenatly feel like its got a papers please type gameplay loop going on. I wish there was some indicator noise for the phone ringing although I will say I would rather have no sound than an obnoxious one. I also wish it had been made clearer (for idiots like me) that the numbers on the desk where reflective of incoming calls not outgoing. I eventually figured it out but it took longer than it should have due to there being no auditory que of what I was doing. |
| Dec 3 19:23:29 | 8m 00s | JUICY SACRIFICES | ♥ 1 | Pretty good. This game has some of the best feeling controls of any of the platformers I have played for Ludum Dare. Your sprite work is really good although I couldn't help but feel like the animation for bob the apple made it feel like he was rolling backwards. |
| Dec 3 19:37:56 | 14m 27s | Sacrifice Thy Robutt Parts | ♥ 1 | Really nice. I really enjoyed that only having to sacrifice three parts made it far easyer to think up an effective order of operations for what the solution might be. Also I know in the credits you say sorry for the lack of graphics, however I feel like had you not said that I would have assumed it was a intentional dessision as your games graphics are only slight simpler than the indie game K.L.O.M. (which also happens to be about a robot). Also words can't describe how happy I am that I ended up sacrificing robots parts for catgirls. You are truely a gentleman and a scholar. |
| Dec 3 19:47:20 | 9m 24s | Floofs | ♥ 3 | This game was enjoyable. I will say you should probably change the link on your page from saying windows to HTML5 as you are probobly losing the chance for feedback from peopel who use mac and linux systems. The piano melody in the background is alright if slightly sleep inducing. Also as time went on it seems like the balls stopped being fired to the place where my redicule actually was. The last bit of critisim I have for this game is that sometimes floofs spawn one ontop of the other and make it so you have to sacrifice them unnessisaraly. |
| Dec 3 19:54:42 | 7m 22s | Trolley Problem Must Be Sacrificed | ♥ 1 | Who on earth would choose to save five people over not having a part of you run over by a trolley. Really good really funny and I just wanna say I am sorry to anybody that ever falls of to a trolly track near me because if that trolly does a sick loop-da-loop only if it runs over your body I am letting you get run over. |
| Dec 3 20:42:32 | 47m 50s | Orb Defender | ♥ 1 | Thank you so much for putting a speedup button in this game. I played till round ten of this game and it was most defenitaly a enjoyable experience. The lack of audio effects was a little disapointing, but I am very much of the opinion that no audio is better than lack luster audio so no loses no gain. I will say that I wish you had put a limit to how many orbs can be loaded onto any one tower as I found it to be quite a breeze to just put 24/25 orbs on the first tower and blast through the first eight waves of enemies. Once enemies started to get through my defense I would just move the 24 orbs onto the next tower. Due to the size of the waves of enemies this 100% of the time beat every wave without any real worry about losing. |
| Dec 3 20:52:16 | 9m 44s | Mary had some lamb to spare | ♥ 1 | Wow I really enjoy the remix of Mary had a little lamb you have for the background music. I also really enjoyed your gameplay although sometimes it seemed like I would click to through a lamb and nothing would happen untill I walked closer to an enemy which I feel made the game a little more difficult. |
| Dec 3 21:10:31 | 18m 15s | Attack of the Zomborgs | ♥ 0 | This game really fun and I like it, but it starts to act funny when the Zomborgs catch up with your ship. I ended up having ten ships all controlled by my which where also overlapping with enemie ships that also had clones of themselves on the other side. Its a shame I really do think this game is good I think you got a stellar effect with the chromatic aberation when you pick a node and I enjoy the general tactical feel of the game. But I had to stop playing because I could no longer stand to have it glitch out on me. |
| Dec 3 21:24:18 | 13m 47s | Hurt-It | ♥ 1 | Wow I really like the look of this game. It really reminds me of Adventure on the Atari 2600. Twinstick style gameplay is always fun in my book and your controlls feel good not slippy or anything like that. I really like that the audio changes when your shot gets upgraded because in the mix of all those particals it can be difficult to identify when your health is low enough. |
| Dec 3 21:54:38 | 30m 20s | Apollo | ♥ 1 | Reminds me of being a kid playing Galaga and just seeing how long I could go only dodging ships and not shooting anything. I really enjoyed this game your sound effects and music sound good and don't overpower each other which is really nice. I wish the commets where a bit slower it sometimes felt like they would come out of nowhere and slam into me. Also I know its space and intertia exist but I feel like pressing the move left/right buttons always sent me flying way faster than I wanted which is fine most of the time but when a alien ship is down at the bottom of the screen near the edge I would always end up slamming into it on accident. |
| Dec 3 22:04:03 | 9m 25s | Panquetzalt | ♥ 1 | I love the music it ohmost makes you want to click to the beat. The only real problem with this game is that sometimes it feels like the god gets angry to quickly and you have no time to choose. I do like that you have the visual feedback of the pyramid changing color. |
| Dec 3 22:13:33 | 9m 30s | Tendie Revengie | ♥ 1 | I don't know if this is my favorite game of Ludum Dare so far or if I am just a degenerate who likes jokes about Tendie's to much. The only real critism I have of this game is that when you through stuff out the window you can see the default unity skybox in the background on the left hand sky. You did good this Ludum Dare @jequed go reward yourself with some tendies. |
| Dec 3 22:18:56 | 5m 23s | Purple Space | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed what I played of the game (I played solo for refrence). I am a real sucker for games with lazers and beam crossing it honestly is one of my favorite mechanics to see in anything ever. |
| Dec 3 22:30:48 | 11m 52s | Within | ♥ 1 | I enjoy the notes left scattered on the floor and how they seem to give a sort of lingering hint of darkness, and make you question what is going on. I did find a minor bug that when you run into a walk paralel to the wall you can cause your player to spin in circles this didnt do anything gameplay wise but it does effect immersion as it seemed like you where going for a darker mood so to have you character spinning in circles ruined it a little. |
| Dec 3 22:38:24 | 7m 36s | Worthless Robots Fight | ♥ 1 | A little boring. Plain black on plain white I can't say it looked bad you had enjoyable attack animations and I loved that when you put your mouse over a robot icon it moved, but without any sound effects or music it boils down to black robots on a white background. If you where to add anything to this game to make it more enjoyable I would say add a little bit of background music. |
| Dec 3 22:49:38 | 11m 14s | A.I. Careers Advisory Service: Your Path To Success | ♥ 1 | You music was really good, but I didn't enjoy the gameplay very much. Its not that it was bad there just wasn't much to it which is fine. Your dialog is fantastic. Also I don't know if its intentional but did you realize you can skip talking to the computer twice in the first room by simply walking around it and heading stright into the door at the back of the room. |
| Dec 3 23:03:15 | 13m 37s | NES Quest | ♥ 0 | Really impressive considering it was made in 48 hours for the NES. I really enjoyed how you used the same sprites for both ocean and sand but with diffrent pallets like the clouds and bushes in Super Mario Bros. I also the smooth scrolling was a nice suprise. I expected from the very Zelda look for the game to have the same Zelda snap style camera so I was very suprised when some areas didnt have it. I'm pretty sure some of your sprites are straight rips from Zelda (specifically the sword I believe is the same as the Magic Sword). Regardless of what I say its really amazing you where able to get all this stuff done in 48 hours for the NES. |
| Dec 3 23:12:20 | 9m 05s | Colony | ♥ 1 | I like that you have notification sounds it really helps with the need to scroll because I can keep two building in focus and if I hear the effect and I only need to check two buildings max before I know where the new break is. I also like that you are using a clear font and color coded the issues so I can quickly scan the issues to see who is best at what and what type of problem it is. |
| Dec 3 23:26:25 | 14m 05s | Time is Money | ♥ 1 | I like the idea of sacraficing time for upgrades. I don't have any read critism to make the gameplay is solid the controls dont feel to stiff or to slippy. Good job. |
| Dec 3 23:30:58 | 4m 33s | Merciless gods | ♥ 1 | Once I figured out what I was doing it was quite enjoyable. I found the portrait mode layout to be a little worrying as I have an odd resolution on my monitor but it didn't end up causing me any trouble other than losing the bottom third of the reset button. |
| Dec 3 23:56:44 | 25m 46s | Space Raider | ♥ 0 | The control for this ship is a little wild. It feels like when you go up or down you fly and slam right into the roof of the level, and the ship flys so fast that it felt like I was never in danger of getting hit by the shots fired from the cannons lining the level. Your sound effects for shooting reminded me of old arcade games so nothing bad to say there but overall I wish it controlled better. |
| Dec 4 00:04:33 | 7m 49s | We Were 5 | ♥ 1 | Your writing was pretty good, and I liked the illustrations for things. I don't know if it was intentional or you just ran out of time but I like that you didn't have an illustration for the sacrifice beast it lets players like me imagine it being some otherworldly horror rather than force us to see it as whatever it was you imagine it as. I don't know much about Twine as a engine but if at all possible I wish there had been somekind of background noise or a sound when a sacrafice was made if for nothing more then to help add to the the theater of the mind effect. |
| Dec 4 00:09:40 | 5m 07s | Baron | ♥ 1 | Pretty fun I really like the feeling of movement in this. Normally I hate slippy controls with lots of inertia but the way you have it and the speed of the enemys makes it feel ohmost like you are sliding into a spear thrust. I also really like the fact that when enemys die they burst into particles. Rock solid game. |
| Dec 4 07:05:52 | 6h 56m | Exit Reality | ♥ 1 | Its a shame you didn't get the chance to finish this game its one of the better ideas for sacraficing things I have seen this jam. You programmer art is pretty enjoyable (except the backgrounds I don't know what it is about them they just seem to hurt my eyes and brain a little. |
| Dec 4 07:17:09 | 11m 17s | Server Manager | ♥ 1 | Really good game. I love the graphical style of blue on black reminds me of the game Uplink. I gotta say I did find the difficulty curve of this game to be a little steep especially level 7 with the military files. I think part of the difficult stems from the fact as the player at that point I cam controlling two small shield, one big shield, and the servers. All while using WS to rotate one shield AD to rotate the other two shields and left/right arrow to rotate the server while looking out for yellow spam. It gets a little crazy. |
