May 1 17:18:46 SpermoKart ♥ 1 LOL Fun(ny) little racing game. Love the music!
May 1 23:44:38 6h 25m Planet Desumaton ♥ 2 Great! Very challenging, too. I like that. The facial expressions and animations of the planets are what make it. 👍 If you have the chance, check out my little puzzle platformer. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-z-axis
May 2 01:55:12 2h 10m Hibernaculum ♥ 1 Interesting concept! I loved the music and the graphics were pretty. My only issue was that the controls could have been a little better. The globe kept resetting if I didn't place it exactly right. Still though, fantastic overall! If you have the opportunity, be sure to check out my entry as well! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-z-axis
May 2 13:28:06 11h 32m Star Traveller ♥ 4 This was great, the graphics and music were top notch. Definitely one of the better games I've tried so far. Here's mine, if you'd like to give it a try. Good luck! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-z-axis
May 2 13:39:51 11m 45s Raven Delivery Service ♥ 1 This is by far the best game I've played so far. Very addicting! Music was top notch too. Here's mine if you'd like to give it a try! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-z-axis
May 3 13:46:26 24h 06m Murder 38 - Episode One: A Small World ♥ 1 LOL This game was so much fun. A+!
May 3 14:13:34 27m 08s Prison Blues ♥ 1 Nice! The stealth mechanics - hiding in shadows, waiting for cameras, etc. were fun. I liked figuring out which doors to go through to go where. Good stuff.
May 5 14:01:53 47h 48m Planetary Defense Force ♥ 0 Nice! Loved being able to rotate the planets around in their orbits to position defenses. That seemed pretty original, at least to me. The graphics and sound are pretty cool too. Things to improve on... Collecting scrap on level 3 and beyond gets a bit busy, maybe make it so you can build a scrap collecting machine that does most of it for you? Or make the scrap pieces worth more and produce less of them as time goes on. There were points where I was just rapidly waving the mouse back and forth because there was so much of it everywhere. Also, the rail guns were making scrap off the screen so I couldn't collect them. Level 4 seems impossible just because of the sheer volume of ships. Maybe make it so you can upgrade the one gun on a planet to like a multi-gun battery of some sort? I had railguns and missile turrets on every planet and didn't even come close to keeping pace with the volume of ships incoming. Awesome game though overall! I played this like 5 or 6 times.
May 5 14:06:14 4m 21s Desert Planet ♥ 1 I started cracking up when I managed to answer the pizza delivery note and a pizza started floating on screen. Good job, haha.
May 5 14:15:24 9m 10s Holy Shit! A Spider !!! ♥ 1 Nice! The banter had me cracking up. Good job!
May 5 14:34:33 19m 09s Come on, barbarian! ♥ 2 Nice! Loved the idea, and so well executed! Funny, and excellent soundtrack. Good job!
May 7 22:53:07 56h 18m A Small World Cup ♥ 1 Awesome! And strangely addicting. A+!
May 8 01:50:58 2h 57m EAT ♥ 1 Excellent! Loved the music and laser firing sound effect. Only thing I wished was different were the steering controls. I found myself pressing left and right to try and steer which way I was going forward (like as if it was a car), and kept forgetting I needed to press in the direction I wanted to move (i.e. up to move up, left to move left, etc.). Not a big deal to be honest, but that might be something worthwhile to put in an options menu. Overall though, definitely one of the better games I've played so far! Great job!
May 8 12:50:28 10h 59m Jetpackman VS Bouncy World ♥ 1 Loved this! Loved the vector graphics too, very retro. Nice tight controls, fresh concept. A+!
May 8 14:54:46 2h 04m The Wonky Wizard ♥ 1 A really nice entry, found myself engaged all the way through to the end. About halfway through I was starting to combo my attacks together, opening with a fireball and then icicles for easier enemies and lightning for the bigger guys and for hitting far away targets. Fun! Good art style too.
May 9 01:19:51 10h 25m Spin Bashers ♥ 1 Is there a way to play this game locally or is it network only? Seems pretty confusing... I was just clicking different network options hoping something would happen while the game played itself in the background with no luck. :/
May 9 01:35:59 16m 08s Memory Pass ♥ 0 This wasn't that bad actually. I've definitely seen worse so far. ;) The environments weren't bad and I enjoyed the music. I discovered that touching certain flowers opens the gates completely by accident. Had some difficulty walking over some of the terrain between gates 1 and 2 and I really wanted to turn the view at times... but overall it wasn't that bad. What were you trying to do with it, if you don't mind that I ask? I made it to the end, it looked like you were trying to do either a time loop of some sort, or a really small world idea in a "rick & morty" kinda way. (season 2 finale)
May 9 02:00:03 24m 04s Therrain ♥ 1 Fun! Interesting concept, definitely haven't seen something like this before.
May 9 02:10:44 10m 41s My Small World ♥ 0 I actually liked this despite the lack of clear goals in the game. I almost feel like this was intentional though. Sometimes someone who is depressed and reclusive will hide away in their "own little world" without really any meaning or purpose. Perhaps the point is that anyone would get tired of doing the same few things - like surfing and eating and fapping - in the same little world over and over again and just end it. Nice work.
May 9 03:00:33 49m 49s Membrum ♥ 1 Nice! I got to over 100 on like my 3rd try, and didn't even realize you were able to grow other body parts besides the organs until I read the comments after the fact. I never grew the spine, I got to 100+ with just the infant's body. lol Really fun and unique!
May 9 03:22:00 21m 27s Sunken Mystery ♥ 1 That song is called Overpowered by Phantom Power Music. I recognized it immediately because I listen to a lot of those "epic music mixes" on YouTube. It's an awesome song and just wanted to point out that this wasn't made by the developer. Link to the song on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBlaWzMiZYw
May 9 12:50:11 9h 28m Self Replicating Bots. Escape From The Known World ♥ 0 Pretty much ditto the above comment. 👍 Good job!
May 9 13:26:34 36m 23s small World of Underbury ♥ 0 Game crashes on startup for me. Missing DLLs or something. :( Windows 7 64 bit.
May 9 13:49:07 22m 33s Binary Glitch ♥ 0 Excellent!
May 9 14:02:54 13m 47s PiP: A multi-layered puzzle game ♥ 1 I was surprised how good this ended up being. I loved the idea of zooming into blocks like they are their own little world that needs to be solved and then zoomed out of. Brilliant. The laser stage is buggy though like you said, and there seemed to be some graphical flickering on the first stage too. Overall though, great entry!
May 9 14:37:56 35m 02s Little Big Square ♥ 0 Best LD38 game I've played so far. The mechanics and the puzzles you made with them were brilliant! Made it all the way to the end, totally into it the whole way. Nice job!
May 9 14:54:45 16m 49s Astro-Bastard Drunken Rampage ♥ 0 Was that a beer hat/helmet on the guy's head? It looked like one. Nice! 👍
May 9 15:13:22 18m 37s World of My Own ♥ 1 Nice! Don't feel like I can add anything more than what's been already said. Very polished and well executed.
May 9 15:59:03 45m 41s Tiny Terraformer ♥ 1 Nice! I got 79% on my first playthrough. I wasn't 100% sure what the different percentages meant for Co2 and atmosphere and what not. Like Co2 I think for me was at like 30 or 40 percent, but did this mean it was 60% low or that it was 40% of the entire atmosphere? It did seem weird I needed so many Co2 generators at first and then at the end it said my atmosphere was poisonous, but at least there will be lots of dry ice. 🤣 Great job, game was really fun. One question... is there a point to jumping that I missed? It seemed like maybe it was a feature you planned to do more with but ended up not needing it. The little details were great, liked the grass and trees growing, stuff floating in the atmostphere, etc. I liked having to fend off the killer plants and dealing with meteors and fires also.
May 9 17:37:15 1h 38m World Requires ♥ 0 I didn't get it at first. I thought they were pipes that needed to be connected for some reason. 🤣 But after it kept telling me I lost, I figured out I was just trying to fit all the pieces onto the board. I got it down to 2 pieces with around 8 spaces left and I couldn't get any further than that. Oh well. I had fun trying though. The colors add an interesting level of complexity to the puzzle solving. My only complaint is that the recycle feature kept giving me the same piece over and over again. It got tedious feeding it the same piece repeatedly until I got something different. Other than that, great job!
May 9 17:47:37 10m 22s Until the End ♥ 1 I appreciate that this isn't just another planet defense game, or a game that otherwise involves a small planet. lol I thought it was actually pretty good, albeit a bit repetitive. Although I think that is probably the point. I have to confess, I intentionally let my character starve to death to see what would happen. I also used the secret console thing just to see what actions had what effects on the different attributes you set up. Sorry, the game dev in me was too curious not to look. 😇
May 9 17:57:18 9m 41s Giant Steps ♥ 0 Nice! The graphics were pretty simple, but sharp and polished. Perhaps as a suggestion, make it so you can also use the mouse to click on where to go? I found myself pressing the wrong directional buttons at times, forcing me to stop and look at what letter went to the tile I wanted to go to. Probably my only complaint, and it's a minor one... Might be a good option to be able to reverse the controls, where WASD rotates the camera and the mouse selects the tile to go to. It might make it more intuitive for some people. If you like puzzles, you might like my puzzle platformer called The Z Axis: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/the-z-axis
May 9 18:03:00 5m 42s Space Cowboy's Last Stand ♥ 1 Yeah I was pretty terrible at this game, but it was fun. Perhaps start the player off with a bit more ammo? I was confused at first why I ran out of bullets so quickly til I realized I had to be more careful with each shot to maximize what I got back for it. Good art and pretty tight controls!
May 9 18:12:19 9m 19s Id's Journey ♥ 0 Doesn't seem to work on my machine... Tried the 64 bit and 32 bit versions, no difference. Just a black screen. I have Windows 7. :( It's a shame because it looks cool in the screenshots.
May 9 18:29:36 17m 17s That Tiny Pea ♥ 1 This was a lot harder than it first looked, I think primarily because I wasn't sure which buttons oriented the lander the way I wanted it to go. So of course, I crashed like 10 times, including one time where I bounced, survived, and then crashed. 🤣 Finally I got it though. Stepped out of the craft to walk around, FIRST THING I TRIED was to jump. What?! No jumping mechanic in an astronaut game?! Boooo! Hahaha. Still though, great job. I appreciate the fact too that the terrain in the distance is actually modeled and not just a 2D background sprite. It made me feel like I could actually go there. Resizing the earth was a nice touch too. You tried to recreate what it must have been like for Neil Armstrong all those years ago.
May 9 18:43:12 13m 36s Low Orbit ♥ 0 Oddly enough, the web version ran substantially better for me than the downloadable Windows version. The Windows version ran at like 1 frame every 3 seconds for me. Maybe make it so you can chance the resolution and possibly the details to make it more playable? The little bit I managed to play in the web version had me either oversteering like crazy or seemingly unable to turn at all, I assume because I was going too fast. The "waypoint is this way!" indicator seemed to be off too. One second it was pointing behind me and the next it was pointing in front of me. Despite it's flaws, this is REALLY impressive for 48 hours from scratch for one person, especially with multiple cars and tracks to race on. Very ambitious, and cudos for actually finishing.
May 9 18:50:47 7m 35s Mulletman and the Molemen ♥ 1 The sounds of the molemen dying had me laughing my ass off. The other comments are right though, the sounds are a bit too loud. Still, high points for humor. The graphics are nice too, I'm always a sucker for pixel art.
May 9 19:00:10 9m 23s SubAttack ♥ 1 Pretty impressive all around given the time constraints. Pros were definitely graphics and the fun of dragging fish around, particularly the crazy eyed ones. lol Sometimes I was driving into the sides of the aquarium and couldn't tell which way I was facing, and then being cornered by soooo many submarines. Hahaha. Good job!
