| Aug 26 16:12:00 | Connected Worlds: Filllight | As the others, I liked the atmosphere, but for it to be an interesting game, it probably needs some more interesting puzzle than just lighting all the lightposts, or at least some interesting twists to the concept (something that uses the "connected worlds" part more, perhaps?). The two worlds were different, but still similar in tone, which was super cool. | |
| Aug 26 16:19:00 | 7m 00s | Conflicting Dimensions | Cool game, I played it alone, but rated it a bit higher than I would have otherwise, because I think it's awesome that you made a co-op game. Too few people do that :) <br/> <br/>Got stuck on the ceiling at one point ): |
| Aug 26 16:34:00 | 15m 00s | A World Apart | Cool little mechanic, and nicely juiced-up game :) I liked the soundtrack as well. Will try it again, once I have a real mouse, and not a touchpad. |
| Aug 26 21:26:00 | 4h 52m | Clashing Galaxies | The galaxy is ravaged and utterly destroyed. Entire planets have been wiped out, rebuilt, wiped out, and rerebuilt countless times. Endless fleets senselessly massacre the same dead planets over and over again. Life has ended, and only Robotics remain. An eternal stalemate has been reached: <br/>http://imgur.com/ZdaU8Mn <br/> <br/>This is fantastic. Probably my favorite Ludum Dare game ever. Christ, it's just so much fun. <br/> <br/>Would love for the ships to be a bit more intelligent though, like not targeting a planet with 0% health. And also some more information about what destroying a planet actually does? <br/> <br/>So good though. Do something with this. I'll buy it. |
| Aug 27 06:04:00 | 8h 38m | Road Rage | Nicely entertaining. High score: 261. With a little tweaking her and there (enemy bullets another color than your own, more balanced cars instead of just random ones, maybe the ability to also drive forward a bit, etc), and some added variation, this could be a pretty nice game. |
| Aug 27 06:16:00 | 12m 00s | Press space to start | Made it quite far, I think, but the unforgiving nature of it deterred me. Fun idea, but I don't think the controls fit the game very well. Story seemed cool, but didn't get to finish it. |
| Aug 27 06:44:00 | 28m 00s | Onanigan | Great game! I love a game with some real challenge, and I can tell that an effort was made to make a good difficulty curve. But I've noticed some rules of thumb for designing levels in hard games: <br/> <br/>-Make sure to "teach" (make an obstacle that needs it) the player a maneuver before requiring it in conjunction with other hard maneuvers. When I say "in conjunction", I mean within the same checkpoint. <br/> <br/>-Put the hardest part of the area between two checkpoints in the beginning of the area. This seems counter-intuitive, but it actually makes the hard part feel a bit easier, because the player can learn how to beat it, without having to go through the easier stuff every single time. <br/> <br/>Those two things could have made the game quite a bit less frustrating, especially the second one (argh, that blue spike area.). <br/> <br/>Great game though, I like the atmosphere a lot. |
| Aug 27 09:22:00 | 2h 38m | Orbital | Good work. Some decent levels. The gameplay has potential, but some small things felt off, like the fact that you moved really fast towards planets that were close to you. Although it's more realistic this way, it was just very surprising, and often led to frustrating deaths. <br/> <br/>Also, the "You died" was there for far too long. I like hard games, but I need quick restarts in order to enjoy them. <br/> <br/>The stop function could have been on the spacebar or right click instead of having to click the planet you were going towards, since the mouse would often be hovering above some other planet. <br/> <br/>But pretty nice atmosphere, cool basic idea, really neat interface design. |
| Aug 27 09:38:00 | 16m 00s | Pipelines | Crashed when I pressed r. Managed to beat a single level, but I'm not sure I understood how I did it. Seems like a cool, but a little obtuse idea, that could use just a bit more explanation. |
| Aug 27 09:42:00 | 4m 00s | ERB | This feels super nice, I can tell that you used a lot of time tweaking it to feel juicy. Smooth controls, and supercool effects. Not a fail at all. |
| Aug 27 09:56:00 | 14m 00s | Ambassadors Of Ruin | Proimising foundation, but it feels like it needs something to raise the pace. Maybe changing it so that the years increment automatically instead of manually. <br/> <br/>I quite enjoyed the trading process though, but it was very easy, since you had all the time that you wanted. |
| Aug 27 10:11:00 | 15m 00s | RGB Worlds | Haha, I thought there was no win screen, but then I started mashing buttons, and a nice little secret message appeared :D <br/> <br/>Quite a clever game. Controls need a bit of tweaking, portals should be bigger, and so on, but overall a pleasurable and braintwisting experience :) |
| Aug 27 11:07:00 | 56m 00s | Frontier | Could not run the .exe file. |
| Aug 27 11:11:00 | 4m 00s | Connected worlds | Got the error as well. Seemed to have some nice humor though :) "Is your name Gandalf?" |
| Aug 27 11:21:00 | 10m 00s | Fusion | Cool idea, I had sort of the same idea when brainstorming. The character suddenly disappeared in one of the later levels, so I couldn't go on. <br/>Both games could use some tweaking of controls and generally tweaking a lot of other things. |
| Aug 27 21:19:00 | 9h 58m | Parazzle | A good mind-bender. There's a bit much to learn in the beginning, the game might benefit from having a bit simpler first level? |
| Aug 27 21:24:00 | 5m 00s | The Mean Astronaut | Cool game, from the instructions I thought it would be very similar to mine :) |
| Aug 27 21:30:00 | 6m 00s | HEAL | Neat little game. A shame you didn't have time to add more levels, it seems like it could be cool :) |
| Aug 27 21:34:00 | 4m 00s | The Long way around | Cool enough idea, but not that good of an execution. Learning how it worked was quite unclear. |
| Aug 27 21:39:00 | 5m 00s | OfficeMaze | I also ended up outside. :) Good luck polishing it up. First priority should be new controls. |
| Aug 27 21:42:00 | 3m 00s | Tower Twitch | Haha, a twitch game for Ludum Dare, that's a great idea :) And it fits the theme PERFECTLY. A+ |
| Aug 27 21:46:00 | 4m 00s | Skewer World | What a quirky game :) A positive experience, if short-lived and a bit shallow, haha. |
| Aug 27 21:53:00 | 7m 00s | Alice | That was quite the clever little idea. Would be a good way to really study a book closely :) <br/> <br/>I do not like the sounds, they are way too jarring. |
| Aug 27 22:00:00 | 7m 00s | Vibrastones | Awkward controls, and for a game about audio, the audio wasn't really that nice. Seemed like an interesting idea though |
| Aug 28 15:50:00 | 17h 50m | Annex Kharon | Very solid game. Only critique would be that the same tech upgrades might appear too often. |
| Aug 28 15:58:00 | 8m 00s | VENN | Quite nice. Like awesomeusername, I was confused by the fact that black circles seemed to kill my circles. If they don't count anymore, they should disappear. <br/> <br/>Original puzzler, and some nice calm music, that's great for a Ludum Dare! :D |
| Aug 29 20:02:00 | 28h 04m | Holiday Nightmare | Haha, this is great. I love the art style ;D <br/> <br/>I liked your interpretation of the theme. Despite the simple concept, I felt a clear difference between the worlds that you went to. |
| Aug 29 20:07:00 | 5m 00s | zombies you Going down | W00t, high five for Game Maker :D It's totally underrated as a jam tool, it's so quick. <br/> <br/>Please export to .exe and then compress it to a .zip. Having to install the game is a hassle. |
| Aug 29 20:11:00 | 4m 00s | Peregrinatio | Even with the updated version, I'm really confused as to what I'm supposed to be doing. |
| Aug 29 20:18:00 | 7m 00s | Steel Saviour | Great idea with the real photos, I'll definitely steal that for a later project :) Gameplay was a bit repetitive though, and the levels were not interesting. |
| Aug 29 20:24:00 | 6m 00s | Onomo | Nice audioscape, and some moody graphics, but ultimately not very interesting. |
| Aug 29 20:35:00 | 11m 00s | Shared Destiny | The fact that you restart the level when you touch something is very annoying in a puzzle game. <br/> <br/>I love it when someone tries to tell a story with a game though, keep it up :) <br/> <br/>I made it to "Don't get distracted" before getting frustrated. |
| Aug 29 20:40:00 | 5m 00s | TRAVEL | Very nice audiowise. <br/> <br/>Gameplay had potential, but it was way too easy to avoid the red ones by just flying in one direction, I never died without doing it on purpose. |
| Aug 29 20:49:00 | 9m 00s | Connessi | Cool idea, but the game was way too slow. I think two worlds would have been enough, since you were doing the same thing in many of the worlds. |
| Aug 29 21:01:00 | 12m 00s | Ian Sync | Oh my god, what a relief to play something that actually feels polished :D <br/> <br/>Awesome music, fitting graphics and interesting gameplay (especially the last level). And you even threw in a third man there in the middle of the game. Great job, thanks for this :) |
| Aug 29 21:12:00 | 11m 00s | The Grand Quest for The Potato Salad | Such a huge area, pretty intimidating for Ludum Dare players... <br/> <br/> <br/>You should tell the player that you can turn with Q and E, that was hard to figure out. |
| Aug 29 21:21:00 | 9m 00s | The MillionWood | Great game, very enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of the controls, but they worked. Liked the trippy graphics :) |
| Aug 29 21:24:00 | 3m 00s | BeatGarden | Mucis would do a lot of good for this one for sure. <br/> <br/>Seems like it could be a nice meditative game with a bit of work. Good job :) <br/> <br/>I like how you took "Connected Worlds" and just made it "Connected sunflowers" :D |
| Aug 29 21:58:00 | 34m 00s | 13 minutes of light | Wow, this was beautiful. I got really involved in the story, and as soon as war broke out, I was vehement about getting her home,
and I was extraordinary relieved when she delivered the letter.
<br/> <br/>Extremely impressive peace of work and writing, considering the time. My first 5/5 overall for this LD. I will probably return to it and try it again later. |
| Aug 31 19:05:00 | 45h 07m | Benn's Adventure | Yay, I made all the people disappear. My favorite part is that in the screenshot, you've lost a heart. HOW? |
| Aug 31 19:06:00 | 1m 00s | UnThread | Told me that love.dll was missing. |
| Aug 31 19:22:00 | 16m 00s | Battle Of Solis | This was really fun! I think it would be a great multiplayer game, but it was a lot of fun to play it alone as well. Great job. |
| Aug 31 19:40:00 | 18m 00s | Through | Not a terribly original concept, and quite frustrating when you hit the walls, especially when you get stuck. But strangely enjoyable from time to time anyway. |
| Aug 31 19:50:00 | 10m 00s | I.A.N | It's too hard to click the nodes, and it's counter-intuitive that W makes the tether shorter, and S makes it longer, it ought to be the reverse. <br/> <br/>And I see some people complaining about instrucions. I've found that the cause of that is usually not actually the instructions, but unclear visual communicaion from the game. Suggestions that could improve that: feedback when you press something, a highlighting of new things to catch, more zoomed out camera (gives a better overview), making the matching packages and nodes the same color. And also an easier beginning, since if people think the beginning is too hard, they'll often complain about the instructions. Just some suggestions that I've found often works. It's awesome that you try to make an original gameplay idea, it's much better than a lot of the uninspired games around. |
| Aug 31 19:58:00 | 8m 00s | ParaPlats (Demo) | Great concept, it's definitely a lot of fun to play around with. <br/> <br/>Having to start the level all over when you fail is a bit harsh though, and quite discouraging. |
| Aug 31 20:05:00 | 7m 00s | Inversion | Reminds me of the Shift series. Neat little entry. Would have like to see the switching a bit more explored, than just used for collecting one thing in one world, and then switching to the other. |
| Aug 31 20:10:00 | 5m 00s | Prismatic Worlds | Looked cool, but I got frustrated by how zoomed-in the game was, I would have preferred a better overview. |
| Aug 31 20:16:00 | 6m 00s | Super Mailer | Super nice graphics and music, but gameplay was completely uninteresting. Also, the lack of restart button is unforgivable >:( <br/> <br/>Would have loved to play around more in those graphics, if the gameplay had been somewhat original. Also, where is the theme? |
| Aug 31 20:21:00 | 5m 00s | Corrected Words | The text scrolls by way too fast, it's near impossible to read and correct anything. Good idea though, even if Mario is a prick. Awesome interpretation of the theme :D |
| Aug 31 20:28:00 | 7m 00s | Parallel Island | Very cool idea with the switcher, but you move way too slowly to be able to do anything. Nice graphics and music though :) <br/> <br/>An indicator of how close you have to be to people in order to "switch" them would be a big help. |
| Sep 7 16:43:00 | 164h 15m | Glass Heart Empire | This is impressingly well polished. Except for the fact that it took a long time in the beginning before I could get anywhere, the skill system felt really nice, and the movement system also felt well thought out. Great job! <br/>Could use some music though ;) check out abundant-music.com, it could have made some fitting music, and it takes maximum an hour (much less, if you know how to use it well) to generate something useful. |
| Sep 7 16:46:00 | 3m 00s | The Triplets | Fine short game. Good luck with making some more polished stuff :) |
| Sep 7 16:55:00 | 9m 00s | Space Kittens Will Not Save The World | Pretty great :D I like that you made it challenging. I made something a bit similar once, check out number 29 on this list: http://zeppelincaptain.wordpress.com/2013/11/06/31-games-in-31-days/ <br/>My Ludum Dare entry is actually also a little bit similar (not much, but the similarity is there!). |
| Sep 7 17:02:00 | 7m 00s | No Metro | I like experimental games normally, but not when they feel like they are just trying to be clever for clever's sake. I hope this is practice for when you do something that has more to say. If you make that one day, I look forward to seeing that. |
| Sep 7 17:12:00 | 10m 00s | Four Worlds | Good fun, I liked this. I know it's extremely hard to think of original gameplay mechanics, but I would have loved to see this kind of 4-split world w. something else than a platformer. |
| Sep 7 17:17:00 | 5m 00s | WORLD WARPER | Graphics were kinda cool, but they made obstructed the gameplay by being unclear, which is a huge no-no in my book. <br/>Good fun for a little while though :) |
| Sep 7 17:28:00 | 11m 00s | Connection of the worlds | Game was quite frustrating, because you couldn't see very far ahead. The control were pretty nice though. |
| Sep 7 17:36:00 | 8m 00s | Serenity & Passion | Neat idea, but I felt like the gameplay relied too much on walking back and forth. And I didn't really understand the naming of the characters, it felt like they were trying to push meaning into where there was none. Maybe some music would have saved it. |
| Sep 7 17:43:00 | 7m 00s | Polypus | I want to echo the complaints that many of the other commenters have, but also the congratulations! I think it's great that you're already participating in Ludum Dare, keep at it :) |
| Sep 8 10:40:00 | 16h 57m | Bump Da World | This was oddly satisfying, I liked the effects when you matched the planets. Agree that it would fit mobile quite well. <br/>It was a bit too easy in the beginning, but then it hit a good balance after a while, I think. |
| Sep 8 11:14:00 | 34m 00s | Spectral Sniper | Your original idea sounds kinda cool - make sure to emphasize the difference between worlds in the gameplay :) |
| Sep 8 12:38:00 | 1h 24m | Chalinkamachoo | Great sound and the graphics were fun as well, especially the boss animations. |
| Sep 8 19:21:00 | 6h 43m | Planetary Replan | Great game, played it with a friend. <br/>It has some weird quirks, like at one point a building just closed in on itself. It also seemed to rely a bit much on who got the most military power - maybe more cards at a time would help? <br/> <br/>But all in all, we had a lot of fun playing the game, it really felt like a tense battle :D |
| Sep 13 20:21:00 | 121h 00m | disconnected_worlds | Liked the graphics style a lot, great job capturing something so joyful. The music did wonders as well :D |
| Sep 13 20:25:00 | 4m 00s | Interstice | Controls were wonky, sound was really annoying, objective was unclear, concept was unoriginal. Better luck next time. |
| Sep 13 20:33:00 | 8m 00s | Dream World | Trippy, awesome graphics and soundscape :D |
| Sep 13 20:39:00 | 6m 00s | Literally Connected Worlds | I feel like an artist playing this game :D |
| Sep 13 21:49:00 | 1h 10m | Connecting LD30 to the Real World | I answered your plea, and uncovered some of Madagascar for you :) It's great that you're doing some good pro-comment work on this site! |
| Sep 13 22:01:00 | 12m 00s | The Bacon Uprising | I liked that in spite of how chaotic it was, it still felt like it was beatable :) |
| Sep 13 22:25:00 | 24m 00s | Sideline | Took me a while to figure out how things worked, but once I realized what was going on, I exclaimed to myself: "Oh, that's genius!". Really liked the concept, although I was a bit disheartened after seeing your personal best... |
| Sep 13 22:33:00 | 8m 00s | Accelerated-Life | Some ambiance or other music would have made this complete. Atm it feels a bit lacking. |
| Sep 13 22:59:00 | 26m 00s | Whiteout | Powerful experience, if a little monotonous - but that might be the point? I walked for a long time in several directions, but never managed to find anything but killer whales and ice walls. But it was awesome nonetheless, at least in the beginning. <br/>Don't see the theme very much though.. |
| Sep 13 23:23:00 | 24m 00s | This Little Piggy... | Hahaha, this is amazing. I got to 9/22 enemies killed, but then there were no more enemies... Maybe I destroyed the idols too quickly? |
| Sep 13 23:36:00 | 13m 00s | Flicker | This is as perfect as a LD game can get. Damn. I'm impressed. <br/>Great ambiance, great looks (the background and lighting effects go extremely well together), interesting but manageable gameplay. The types of enemies were great - the red one really mixed up the style of play, which was great. <br/> <br/>I'm also a little impressed at my own 28-streak: http://i.imgur.com/fGTSbXk.png :D |
| Sep 14 00:32:00 | 56m 00s | HopSlide | This wins the innovation prize from me 100%. When i realized what I had to do in the red room, I sat wide-eyed with wonder, really hoping that my solution would be right, and then; bliss :D Thanks for this very unique experience. <br/>I completed it, but used hints on yellow and red (only the first one though). |
