LOVE the game! Current high score of mine is 700, but I plan to play this game a lot more to try to get moar points :D Really fun game, thank you!

LOVE the game! Current high score of mine is 700, but I plan to play this game a lot more to try to get moar points :D Really fun game, thank you!
Completed the game in both Normal and Hard on first try. I did lose a life on the Hard mode, and I did get jump-scared twice even though I knew about the guardians beforehand! I hate horror games, but this felt like just the right amount of horror for me while being a fun game that encouraged me to play. Also found that signpost about the Keeper :D I wonder if there are any other signboards or not.
Once you get the hang of juking the guardians, the game does become quite easy. "Hard" still felt like the right difficulty for me, as it forced me to stay at the edge of my seat throughout the playthrough.
Thank you for a great game!
Such a fun game! Does look difficult though. I am stuck on a level but I am sure I will eventually complete it :D Can't wait to play it again!
The game is really fun!
Dodging the incoming bullets felt like a challenge as it should be. Usage of the dash felt rewarding as well.
Never got too far into the game to upgrade multiple times, I found myself too busy in dodging the bullets and shooting at the enemies. Upgrades felt decent though!
Loved the theme and artstyle as well <3
Fun game! Loved the idea of having a cursed sword that requires organs to work! Maybe a twist on the idea could be that it requires blood, either your own (HP) or enemies?
First run, I sacrificed ears. Then brain. Mistake. Brain was needed.
Second run, I just tried to figure out what each of the sacrifices did. Eyes and brain felt like the only two things that I shouldn't sacrifice. Maybe eyes CAN be sacrificed if you learn the layout of the level though, which is pretty interesting!
The limited time you get after a sacrifice added a factor of challenge. I tried to min-max my way through the first "level" to try to complete it in the shortest time.
Attacking was a bit strange at first, but only took me 1 run to realize how it works.
3rd run, I died to the boss. Expected, I guess. Learned its attack pattern though, and a decent path to reach the boss room.
4th run, demolished the boss to win the game.
I still don't know how sacrificing other things affected the gameplay O.o
Was a fun game, loved it!
@victorcrafty WHAAAT! That is just amazing! The game saying something along the lines of "... Or did you?" at the end left me a bit... confused, but it didn't give me a strong enough hint to retry the game without sacrificing anything. After seeing that true ending, I really wish the game would have hinted at that in some way. If it did, I totally missed it :D
Now if you will excuse me, gonna go get the true ending and then update the score :D
@victorcrafty ok I tried it 4-5 times, but the demon isn't going down the hole O.o The idea is to force him to use his weapon while he is standing on the same spot right? no other tricks?
Super fun and addictive!
The cultist/temple theme is pretty smart, and the artwork is just amazing.
Destroying the resource-generator to make space for more resource generator was a new twist as well, at least for me. Loved playing the game. Really well polished too, just adorable <3
Fun game! My character unfortunately stopped participating in the fights after 3rd or 4th round for some reason, it just stayed there even though my health/stamina were full. Opponent was slashing away at me, I could see the blood splatters, but the health bar wasn't going down.
Apart from that bug, the game was actually fun to play! A 2 player local co-op mode would have been a fun addition as well :D
The game looks pretty good!
Went in expecting to shoot some spaceships, got just that.
1) The static turrets were more annoying than challenging. Some rooms they were hitting me from outside the screen. It looked like they only locked on if the player is in a line from them. Once I realized that, I realized it is better to not stay at the edges. Still died to the static turret in one of the rooms in 2nd level.
2) The moving enemies often got stuck in doorways, unable to move while I was still able to hit them with my laser. I did not see them shoot their weapon once actually. Maybe if they were smaller it would solve the doorway issue?
3) "+max life" - i was unable to figure out what this would do until I actually used it. I think if it just said "+1 life" or something that would have been better. Also, there seems no reason to use repair instead of +max life unless there is a cap and I haven't reached that yet.
Overall, the shooting experience was fun, upgrades felt meaningful as well. Seems like there is a giant enemy looking at the screenshot as well, so I am off to play some more and destroy it :D

Won on 2nd try! What an amazing game and idea!
1st try, I tried to do this the normal way until I reached the 7th hole. Realized its impossible to do it normally, so I tried to take the ball all the way to the border. Found that the ball doesn't fall off the screen (I figured it would, since there is no "boundary' so to say around the edges). Once I realized that, it was a smooth sailing.
Wish the game had a "free-play" mode as well, so I can keep playing it over and over :D Maybe a timer could add challenge as well! SO MANY good ideas that can be implemented in the future to make the game even more amazing! Loved it!
Being the ever-wandering cat, I roamed throughout the city, interacting with anything I can. Trees, flowers, rocks, tables, chairs, mean humans. Most of them didn't talk, except the mean human. But it's ok, my friend was around to keep me accompanied. We wandered to the Witchwood to satisfy our inner adventurer. My friend ate a mushroom that looked really bad and smelt even worse. My friend fell asleep, and I felt like I had lost a bit of me. Time froze, until my friend woke up and rushed to home to take rest. I wandered around some more, interacting with more trees, flowers and rocks with no mean humans in sight. Rocks were happy to be different. Really Great Boulders! I started missing my friend so I went back to home. He was still asleep. Asleep for what what felt like an eternity, until he suddenly woke up from a noise outside. Curious little me and my friend went to investigate. The cave guard, the mean human, was missing. My friend went inside the cave to explore, but I took to the cave guard's home to make sure he is well. Humans can be mean, but they are still amazing. I couldn't find the cave guard, but I found a shiny thing that looked like it belonged somewhere else. I took it, and place it where it belonged. The chest gifted me with another shiny thing. The shiny thing was really mesmerizing and beautiful. It reminded me of my friend, so I went back to join him in the cave. A mean boulder was blocking me from going to my friend, but she had her own reasoning. As much as I adored the shiny thing I had, it was not worth more than seeing my friend, so I quickly bribed the boulder to make way. I could see my friend from afar, sleeping yet again. Time froze again. I lied there beside him. Hoping that my friend will soon wake up and take me to another adventure. He didn't, time stood frozen till I slept.
Welp, didn't mean to write this, but I just felt like it when coming here to give feedback :) (and I apologize to anyone that went through my wall of text with broken English).
Really fun little experience. The puzzles did feel out of place, but given the time constraints I think that is still fine. Roaming around as a cat was a great experience, and I feel like it captured what cats go through in their daily lives. Humans doing stupid things :P
I think the game translated that feeling really well to the players. "Your Life is a currency" hit home when I first selected "no" when asked to save the "children"(It should have said "child" btw, RIP my immersion).
Such an interesting puzzle game :D I thought I had the last level figured out but I had to try it 2 times to get there :D Love the mechanics <3
@noobexception
Yes! I have been learning to make a TD through Brackeys' tutorial, and felt like Ludum Dare would be a good experience to implement my learnings into it. I plan to make a post about this experience in the future. I wanted to credit him (and a lot of other ppl, I maintain a list) but figured I would do that in a diff post.
Your feedback about the difficulty of the game is on point. Even I haven't been able to get past Ascension 4 in the limited time I have played the game. I had planned to balance out the game a lot more, but it took me a long time to implement the upgrades (which might still be buggy). I had read about keeping the scope "small", but I learned that lesson first-hand now :D
Pause menu!!!! Not going to lie, I completely forgot about it! It should have been fairly easy to make a pause menu with ways to adjust the volume of the effects/music now that I think about it.
Thank you for your feedback. Can't wait to learn a lot and participate in the future gamejams and LDs!
Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
Feedbacks noted:
1) Give some time to put down orbs. Initially the plan was to make use of the lifespan to use the same orbs for multiple waves, but maybe I can achieve that as well by allowing the player to pause the game to place the orbs?
2) Indicate when the orbs expire. This is something that feels like a must have, yet I missed it because it was "natural" for me :P Noted!
3) Audio. Yeap, definitely my weakest point I would say. Never bothered with music generators or anything but I will learn more about them and hopefully the music and sound effects will be better next time! Audio being high-pitch was def. an issue that even I realized before submitting, but had no idea how to generate other, better audio pieces.
4) Details about the wave. That is also something that was on my "to-do" list, but just didn't make it in time :D Also, the numbers could be tweaked a lot as well. I had plans to display wave information, orb information etc in a way better manner but couldn't find a good UI solution so went with the text lines instead.
5) "Game Feel" - is that the word for what I have been looking for? I feel you on everything you mentioned. I usually considered that as "polish" and is definitely something I plan to improve the most on (along with UI/UX improvements). If anyone has any good resource for these, feel free to notify me!
Again, thanks everyone for the feedback <3
A decent game considering the time you spent!
Since the game gives no instructions on what to do, I spent the first playthrough learning about the controls. Looked like some part of the world was turning orange, which indicated that it requires player attention. Click on it, and... click on the button that has a "problem" statement. Clicking on it gives three options, and you can see the blue timer tickdown. I assume we just have to click on the right decision? It felt like the decisions were... random? Sometimes clicking on "Evacuate the area" would result in mass explosion and ppl dying. Sometimes "making peace" results in +ppl and sometines -ppl? I still couldn't get the connection between the problem and the options, but maybe that is because the game is really hectic from the start? These are my first impressions.
Really liked the idea of the game! With a "tutorial" or basic instructions in the game I think it can be a really fun game to play as well.
The value trade simulator! I "lost" the tutorial, but then I realized what I am supposed to do and from then it was pretty tough to lose. Still, the game forced me to think every "turn", which is amazing. I mostly didn't read the card names or even saw the art to be honest, as my eyes only focused on the numbers, but the dark theme does fit well along with the audio. And nice Game Over screens :D
Lightsabers look great, so does the character and its movements!
The controls did feel off at first, but then I just imagined the WASD to be a mapped to a gamepad which allowed me to control the character as I wanted.
On first playthrough, I just kept slashing at the enemies, and that worked most of the time. Survived long enough before restarting on purpose.
On second playthrough, I just kept lightsabers open, and circled around enemies, trying to hit them in an arc so the lightsabers collide with enemies. Sure enough, this worked a lot better than before. I was getting fewer "hit" sound effects and scored 1k+ rather easily. Restarted for another try
On third try, I stood still. Enemies didn't move but it looked like they were still being spawned at the center based on the particle effects and lights.
Overall, I enjoyed some good old slashing of enemies. The jump/roll felt smooth as well, but less rewarding cuz of no special attack patterns. I still enjoyed just using the strategy in 2nd playthrough to crush enemies mindlessly :)
What a great game! Get hearts to improve "strength" (movement speed), with win condition of getting 100 strength. Simple enough.
Started the game, controls are simple to understand. I ended up trying to "free-look" out of habit though :D Hearts were relatively easy to come by, but if you wander far enough, you might feel lost. Happened to me once until I found those two (really well-designed) objects in the ocean. That reminded me of the way back to clam. That feeling of using the game environment to get to the clam was pretty sweet! Spent some time wandering around, moving through the obstacles (algae they are called I think?). I did get stuck near algae when trying to go grab the Heart, so I had to take a diff. route to grab it. Soon enough, I had enough power to win the game. The calm music was amazing as well!
I did wish the game had two optinos that would just sky-rocket the enjoyment of the game.
1) A way to continue playing after grabbing all the hearts. The game felt like a good exploration game, so a "freeplay" button would be amazing. Maybe hearts would just spawn randomly throughout the world?
2) BUBBLE TRAIL EFFECT. That is the one thing I missed the MOST. BUBBLES.
The game idea has so many ways to expand as well, including:
a) Moving enemies as you mentioned
b) Maybe other, larger fish that patrol around an area and would consume you if you get into their region
c) "Strength" factoring more than just being movement speed. As someone else suggested here, maybe add current that would either boost you in a direction or resist your movement in the opposite direction. This way, you could only go through the current if you have enough strength
d) Related to c), maybe a way to use the strength, kinda like a nitro booster? As in, you hold down a button to convert your strength to move faster till it depletes. Once it depletes, you move slightly slower until it regens. Things like that could add a lot during the downtime that happens from one heart to another or from the trip back to clam.
e) BUBBLES. MOAR BUBBLES.
Overall, LOVED the game. I really wish you would add more of these features so I can play it more <3
Implementing the theme and the game into a story is a neat idea! The pong game feels amazing in 2-player, but I felt like in single player, the first enemy is able to block almost all my shots. Giving the pong ball speed felt like a downside as well, since the enemy is able to deflect it back because of its huge size and the player has to 'fall down" at a slower pace than the ball which means limited control if the ball goes on the upper part of the level.
Maybe that is just me being bad though :D Love the artstyle and the triple jump mechanic as well.
Cute little game! I had fun destroying the demon :D
Some form of progression could have gone a long way (more cards maybe), but the game is still pretty fun. The theme also makes sense, gambling away "life" years with a demon = classic!
Game is super fun! Dodging the bullets while collecting hearts is super challenging! Love the game!
UNTIL I READ THE COMMENTS. Why is everyone talking about a secret ending? UGH, guess gotta find it now!
Sitting on the spikes for some reason gave me the secret ending, but nothing else happened. That can't be the "secret ending"... Other than that, I couldn't find it for the life of me. Oh well, guess I will wait for someone to enlighten me...
Fun and challenging. And annoying if you can't find the secret ending like me :P
