LD45 — Start with nothing

Edge of Twilight by OccultOne 2019-10-08T05:24:44Z

The fact that this was completed in 72 hours is completely bewildering! Great use of the theme and I love the soothing piano melody, it could put me right to sleep but not now! I must first save my citizens!

Nothing is the Key by Dubgron 2019-10-08T18:57:33Z

The puzzles were definitely a challenge but that made it all the more rewarding when I complete one. Bonus points for using your own engine to make this strategic little game. Cheers!

Catachresis by Kyle Farwell 2019-10-08T03:18:29Z

Before playing this game I would've called myself a dog person. But now I must say you have converted me!

Very impressive to see great artwork, story telling, and cats! Loved the background music too!

Trashwars by pestodesign 2019-10-08T20:22:45Z

Loved this game! It was quite a bit of fun to play with brother, but for some reason my mouse cursor disappeared at the start and I couldn't select any of the menu buttons properly. Great characters and sound design!

Cheers!

Bonker Droids by NorthernDevGuy 2019-10-08T02:10:19Z

Honestly, such a fun little game! It reminded me of tank.io but in third person and epic music.

I do feel like there should be a bit more feedback when damaging an enemy besides just the health bar, like having them flash red or maybe robot debris spewing out of their body.

It wasn't a super difficult game to beat but that just means I can have my family try it out too, since they are not gamers.

Overall, fantastic job! :)

Rail shooter prototype by Chocolat-Endive 2019-10-08T20:17:52Z

I think this game has quite a bit of potential. Say if you added more feedback when you are attacking an enemy or when you take damage, the feel would go a long way. Great visuals and suiting soundtrack for a sci-fi polygonal theme.

Cheers to getting a decent prototype done!

Starboard: The Pirate Entrepreneur by FlashViper 2019-10-08T02:17:51Z

Arrgghhhh. What a fantastic way to set sail and plunder all the coming enemy ships. This has definitely been one of the harder of the games I've played during this jam but it was an enjoyable challenge.

I'm not to sure if I missed this part of the controls but I couldn't find a way to leave a level and return to the main menu.

Love the music and UI!

Soundscapes by Kaish 2019-10-08T04:55:09Z

What a simple masterpiece! This game played with one concept and projected it in a relaxing setting. Even though I knew the objective was to find and click on different sounds, I couldn't help myself at slowly transitioning between the unknown audios.

The ending was a perfect segue! Cheers!

Oracle Pine by Swanijam 2019-10-08T04:23:43Z

Man this game gave me and my brother the creeps! The atmosphere was so well done starting with the low bit graphics and eerie guitar that detunes when you sacrifice the flowers. Great experience! Cheers!

A Ghost's Tale by Elinks 2019-10-08T19:43:00Z

Wow! What a beautifully creepy little story game you have here. The way the story progress for the worst for Billy connects perfectly with the visual theme and sound you have going. You probably could have had the player face the direction he moving just for that extra bit of player dynamics. But overall, great job on this game.

Cheers!

Ravenous by berumondo 2019-10-08T19:18:58Z

It also too myself I bit of time to realize you had to type the letters on screen and that jumping is hold sensitive to achieve different heights. I dig the artwork and music, very eerie and spooky.

Cheers to a good infinite runner!

Spooktober Survival by LeBossMax2 2019-10-08T19:54:17Z

Thank you for making this game where the pumpkins are the enemies, in contrast to my own game. I loved the map design and various enemies. The music put me right in the mood for spooky season, thank you!

This is a fun and cool way of using the theme, Cheers to a entertaining game!

Ooze for the Ooze Gods by maxdmg 2019-10-08T02:58:09Z

At first I was like ""What is my purpose?", then I found out quickly, "To consume ALL LIFEFORMS".

Very satisfying to merge objects and enemies into this morbid green slime thing. You could possibly add to the gameplay by having something like arms to reach out grab enemies from a distance or maybe upgrades to improve your characters sped.

Overall, had a fun time playing this one. Cheers!

A world of Black and White by Frozen Spirit 2019-10-08T04:49:05Z

A little disappointed that the egg didn't explode into a giant yolk mess :D. But what a neet idea to allow the player to literally change their world from a boring black and white to a new environment full of colours!

Definitely should add an objective like only having so much time to get a certain percentage of the world in colour, or maybe race the "black and white being" by undoing their actions through colouring and keeping up with their black and whiting haha.

Also, think of adding a reverb zone so that the "pop" sound doesn't cut itself off.

Overall, had fun playing with this little game and I did enjoy PRAISING THE EGG

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-08T07:31:22Z

I uploaded a new version of Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure. I took into account most of the feedback and features you guys suggested as well as some other goodies for longer and more intense gameplay.

Thank you so much for your time and feedback!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-08T16:42:53Z

@mrabnox thanks for playing, im glad you had fun!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-08T19:45:10Z

@sir-galloy-de-fierpate Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the concept we had for this spooky game. We will be sure to add more to it soon.

And now I'm on my way to see the skull's perspective of the mad and chaotic bumpkin!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-08T19:56:47Z

@kyle-bowman Thank you also for enjoying our little spooky game. We are for sure wanting to expand on this basic concept and add more enemies, upgrades, and more! We greatly appreciate your time and feedback! Cheers!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-09T04:54:05Z

@stuckne1 At the start of the game your player cannot fire until they upgrade they're attack. Currently you can use the escape button to quit the game but we will be sure to add a dedicated exit button :) Thank you so much for your feedback!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-09T21:06:39Z

@niterich Thanks for playing our game! Unfortunately, we did not have enough to play test and we soon found out some of the upgrade values were a bit overboard. We plan to adjust these for a better experience.

Thank you so much for your feedback, cheers!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-13T04:36:17Z

@ausstein Thank you for playing our game, we had noticed that the upgrades were a bit unbalanced after the game launched prior to our play testing. This is our first game jam and therefore we published the game to what seemed to be the easiest way for us but webgl will definitely be put into consideration down the line.

Thank you so much for the feedback, cheers!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-13T04:38:07Z

@tinysalad Thank you as well for trying our little game out! Our artist, unfortunately, was busy during the jam's period and he only provided a few sprites for the game. However, we are planning on adding more enemies to the latest build

Thank you for playing, cheers!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-16T20:09:23Z

Thank you @savvy-community for trying our game out! At the time, none of the upgrades were "balanced" properly and we agree the movement speed was a bit exaggerated at its final form. We released a new update of the game which takes this into account.

Cheers!

Bumpkin's Spooky Adventure by BrotherBondProduction 2019-10-16T20:53:53Z

@room606 If the enemies get to the left side of the screen, Bumpkin will take damage as said in the How to Play menu. However, there currently is an issue with enemies going off screen which they eventually damage the player when they reach the far left side. This should be fixed in the next update!

Thank you for your feedback! Cheers!

Nun in the Chamber by BrokenMirrorMedia 2019-10-08T02:44:19Z

This was a difficult one for but once I got the hang of it everything was great! Very funny mechanic of having the player throw their gun at enemies and how some don't take damage unless you throw the gun at them first.

This game would have some more atmosphere to it if there was some sound effects and maybe music too.

Overall, I had a blast whipping my gun at enemies and bashing them all!

Also loved the 2D lighting! Really added to the visuals!

Sweet Nothing by Kellmen 2019-10-08T04:05:16Z

I could not fully explain how much I adore this game! The narrating, humorous. The puzzles, gradual and becomes challenging at points; therefore perfect! Everything about this sparks my interest and I'm glad I fell upon it in the monstrous game selection. Needless to say, I'm adding this one to my collections.

Cheers!

Snow Ball by Cryptex 2019-10-08T02:04:04Z

Very satisfying to pick up various debris and grow! Pretty difficult to keep up with but very fun overall!

Bootstraps by Bubble Boy 2019-10-08T05:08:22Z

This game made me stressful even though everything is virtual. The music itself adds to the confusion I get because its soooo calming. Great mini simulator, could get lost in the trance the devs put me in here. Cheers!

Soldier of Fortune by JYoungman 2019-10-08T01:56:20Z

Had some fun playing this with my brother, thanks for uploading!

Defective by CafeLovai 2019-10-08T05:38:16Z

Starting the game I had already felt defeat when it said the bean has no flavour. But I was revived by the fact that I could achieve flavour. And therefore I did and I've been getting all the flavour for the past 10 minutes. Cheers to a humorous and silly little game!

Robo-Parto by Vaibho 2019-10-08T19:07:29Z

I love the cinematic transitions and minimal art style this game had. The theme was very well implemented but there were some annoyances, if you will. Whenever I load to the next level and the sound plays, an enemy can still kill me at that time which I find difficult trying to get past them in that sense.

Overall, good job with the time given. Cheers!

Rhythmic Nothing by Vyndilis 2019-10-08T05:14:15Z

Was a bit uncertain at first, but it certainly paid off by sticking with the rhythm because the melody and beat is settling. I also liked the ending transition into white nothingness, like you're ending where you started, with nothing. Cheers!
