Mood 5/5 absolutely you mysterious god
Yoss! I used to love your games, fellow lemmasoft person. So quirky. I'm sure this one is going to be great.
Played it now and it's hilarious. Great job.
this game is awesome.
this is by far the funniest entry I have seen thank you so much for this gift
Well that was an experience. Playing it was certainly more fun than actually carrying a microwave down 3rd avenue, from what I gather.
10/10 would play this in a VR headset
Good game)
Sadly I can't seem to get this to work on Mac after unzipping the file. Would love to play it if I can figure it out.
I am not sure what I have just been subjected to but I don't regret it. Enjoy the microwave <3
This felt like a fever dream. Loved every part of it
That was pretty nuts! Very funny but I didn't really see the game in it.
Ого. Я примерно также поднимал холодильник в свою квартиру. Игра про реальную жизнь. Молодец!
Thanks everyone for the comments so far!
@yojammerjammer: oh hey, I didn't recognize your current username but I obviously remember playing your stuff from Lemmasoft too! Didn't realize you were in this jam! I'll have to check it out--I'm curious to see how other people did story-driven games in such a short time period
@yodog: I actually use a Mac too and sometimes the security settings flag downloads from itch.io. Usually if you right click (or CTRL + click) on the application file and open it that way, it'll work. Sometimes it also helps to move the whole unzipped folder from Downloads into Applications. Another possibility is the file got corrupted somehow, in which case you might be able to fix it by downloading a fresh copy. If none of that works, though, let me know!
@dalep: What you gather is completely correct, lol
@ollieoa: lol, if I could afford a VR headset, that'd be top priority!
@joel-davis: you're not wrong, lol. It's definitely more of a walking sim/idle game than a proper game-y game. Would love to see the speedrunning community take a crack at it though, ha ha
@xpoho: Я не говорю по-русски, так что это гугл в переводе, лол. Спасибо за игру! Возможно, вам понравится моя другая игра про холодильник, которая есть на моем сайте itch.io
Hmm dang it won't boot on Mac. Gives me this error:
default 11:02:36.441962 -0700 lsd Non-fatal error enumerating at
@eli-delventhal: Thanks for that error report. Since you're the second person to report a problem, I created a new build specifically for Macs. Hopefully this solves it! If you happen to see this message, would you mind telling me which OS you're on (Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, etc.)?
Interesting approach with real photos.
Well, that's a concentrated experience, thank you. Carrying that microwave wasnt easy. But the greater the relief from having working oven at home! Good job, very original game :)
This game is truly a masterpiece. I've played many games about the hassle of carrying electronic household down a street. None if they just portray quite exactly what it feeld like. But this. This is the truest form of simulation. Bravo for this.
(The music was gold)
Wow I CARRIED that microwave. Good job carrying it yourself that must have been hard!!!!! Music track was great. With the photographs I loved the parts when they would start dipping downward like I was gonna fall. That was a real nice touch that really made me feel like I was gonna drop the microwave. Towards the second half I just started clicking through as fast as I could because the really loud "fuuuuuuuuuuuuucccck" was TOOOO much for me lol. I wish that one had the same rarity as the "son of a bitch" sound. ...But then again it did make me really frantically speed up halfway through so maybe that's part of the microwave-carrying journey...
Great job!
Well, I feel more unstable having played this game and you certainly captured the miserable nature of the experience. So, bravo! I was actually gratified to see a clear view of the microwave at the end, for some reason.
Really deep and compelling mechanics at play here. Well done. Audio is masterful. Fuck.
I very much want to try this game based solely on the title, but I refuse to run any binaries from the game jam. Can you publish an HTML5 version?
commenting before playing here - just LOVE the title!
just wow
Thanks so much to everyone who's had a chance to play and rate since the last time I commented!! To answer some specific questions:
@wedgiebee: Unfortunately, I think you must've gotten unlucky, lol: all the sound effects are randomly generated each time and are weighted the same. You're right, though--some are definitely mixed a little louder than others. I think if I'd had more time, I'd either turn down the loud ones a little or maybe weight the probability so that the loudest ones are less frequent.
@mrarc: I really wanted to do an HTML5 version too! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get it to work so far. The problem is basically that the game involves a lot of fairly big image files shown fairly quickly, so they don't load right. When I tried making an HTML5 build, it turned the game into pixel art:Screen Shot 2021-10-10 at 4.31.45 PM.png There's also an issue where a video at the end of the game causes it to break. I'll tag you in a comment if I find a fix before the end, though! For the future, definitely going to try to keep these limitations in mind and make sure everything will work in HTML5.
:D whattt did I just witness
Great sound effects, it really enriches the experience. It goes on for way too long - and I love how I got rewarded by actually looking at the microwave being used in the end
Also thanks for the extra effort for the mac build: the new version actually works :)
@freeworld: Thanks so much for confirming that the Mac build works!! Glad to hear you were able to play it!
This is so funny, the experience truly was carrying a microwave. Great art and sound effects.
What is this, omg!) Maybe this is for VR :О Sounds make me nervous, that I drop this microwave!
Game is an actual walking sim, 10 / 10. Would rage again
