Very cool and thematic! Glad I'm not the only one who went with "trauma regression" for the theme. :) Love the graphics and music interspersed with gameplay.
One complaint/comment-- the interface makes it really easy to accidentally skip important dialogue by clicking too quickly. (I probably missed 25% of the speech bubbles by accident, including the very last one.) Might be worth patching that before the gamejam is over.
Otherwise, nice work!
@cyborg-studio thank you very much for the feedback, I will be taking a look at the dialogue system and fixing that up!
Wow, deep theme, I'm glad you made it. The art is really good, and I like that it ends on a hopeful note! The music was good, but a little repetitive. More tracks would be nice (but it's hard to find time for everything in a jam!)
Very touching story. Nice art. Great jam overall!
(found a visual bug, when typing, the N didn't fade away when I typed 'STOP')
Well made in every respect. Great job!
Very well done, and a nice change of pace. I'm glad you covered this subject! It's important to talk about, and you did it very well. Thank you <3
The only issue I noticed, was the final screen flashes very briefly and then suddenly goes back to the main screen.
This is a really strong and important game. The gameplay is just simple enough to let each message/part sink and the art is perfect. Congratulations and thank you.
I love this game! This is a really heavy topic to talk, let alone make a game about, but its one of the best ways to convey complex emotions, and you managed to do that perfectly.
A very intense game with a lot of beautiful art that covered some very heavy subject matter! It's certainly a very difficult topic to cover, so kudos in doing so in a very thoughtful way. I really felt the poignancy of putting the 'struggle' number up so high - it was a good representation of the way that despite struggling very hard to get out of the situation she found herself in, that battle can be overwhelmingly immense, both physically and emotionally.
I wasn't able to complete the game because when I did get to the section to pull the hand away, after doing so nothing happened - I'm wondering if this might be because I did so before the dialogue showed up? I would have loved to finish up the game, but wasn't feeling up to delving into the material from the beginning again, given it is quite a heavy theme.
Regardless, from what I played it was a very beautiful and deeply though out game. Thanks for the change of pace and the careful thought evidently put into your project. ☆☆☆☆☆
stop.PNG I'm stuck at this stage. I press N, O and all other keys but nothing happens. Is that a part of the game?
@gord10ahmet nooooo I will go see what the problem is
Stopped working for me when I typed "stop"
This is really deep, loved your sensitive approach on the subject, this kind of games are incredibly hard to make.. Very good job, I love that people make this kind of games, congrats!! You did great!. Also art is amazing, loved it!
 :trophy:
Great work on setting up the eerie, disturbing atmosphere. The unsettling audio and dreamlike art mix really well, and a lot of work has definitely been done on polishing everything. Even the text animations are gorgeous. And as others have already mentionned, you deserve even more respect for trying to create something that deals with this kind of touchy subject.
Using the mechanics as a way to tell the story through small interactions is a really powerful tool, and I kind of like what you tried to do in this area (i.e the high "fighting off" countdown to express the protagonist's apparent helplessness, drawing the curved line to represent the unproperly set boundaries...), but my only gripe is that the execution could have been a bit more impactful, as there was a lot of potential here.
Overall, it remains a well made, and refreshingly meaningful submission. Good job.
Great work here!
I always thought games can be a medium for expressing our thoughts, feelings; conveying messages. "Her Bedtime Stories" is an example of that. This game has a powerful message.
Such a powerful storytelling and great way to interpretate Ludum Dare's theme. Liked that you guys put the sensitive content warning too. Good audio and art benefiting the atmosphere of the game. Congrats for this beautiful entry.
A really powerful idea and interpretation of the theme -- thanks for making important games! Unfortunately, as others have mentioned, I got stuck at the "Type out stop" screen.
This was really touching and intimate. I liked the ideas you had to express the different "stages" and I think they could be even more impactful with some small changes : I would have loved having to draw the line with the mouse, and maybe having to type no and stop a bit more. I would also have liked to click more during the fight, as it wasn't really long enough to make me feel tired. i would also have made the numbers go up for the amount of effort you have to make to fight back while still being unsuccesful. But overall, I really liked this game, and I think it sadly resonnate with a lot us : thank you for making this. I also want to thank you for the happy ending, reminding us that we are still allowed to experience happiness even after such a traumatic event
Great entry! Besides the one glitch already mentioned regarding typing plays great!
This was very unique experiences. It is more like a visual novel. I didn't fully understand the message, but it looks like you got intimate thoughts there. (I'm not native speaker and some text was too fast for me, but it didn't ruin the experience.) Other than that, the mood of the game is great and drawings create a distinguish look. I think you did well that choose a game as medium to explore and convey your thoughts.
This had some really great moments and ideas. I did not understand everything but I think the overall message came across! Overall a very touching experience, thank you for that.
