Cool game, nice concept and executed well

rschoellgen 2020-10-07 10:09

Good effort! The resolution was a bit blurry for me.

dhavavamba 2020-10-07 10:12

to prevent the problem of blurry resolution just put full screen

xsoodx 2020-10-07 10:19

Nice Game. Music is super relaxing and sets the mood. I was very curious to see what was hidden in the game. I think this is the most time i've spent on any game so far. A lot of potential here. 1 tip I can give is that the color red is usually used for danger and not for interaction. I avoided the red person in my first run.

voidsay 2020-10-07 10:21

made me just as tiered as I am in real life

stefania-mak 2020-10-07 10:23

the full screen fixed the blurry screen issue for me too  I though by quitting the job it meant to not go back there again, but it was for the day it seems. Simple, repetitive, and quite into the theme might I say! Nice.

madalaski 2020-10-07 10:26

A fun romp. Was a bit confused as to what to do at first in terms of moving through people and doing my job. I couldn't interact with the bed unless I was in full-screen mode. Reminded me a bit of the cycle of Papers Please.

dhavavamba 2020-10-07 10:28

however the inspiration is that (Paper Plase) ... even if there is a hidden subplot: D Write here who found how to break the loop!

toccio94 2020-10-07 10:33

Italian fellas! <3 The game is very moody, the sound design is well done. It really makes you feel the apathy of an everyday life you don't like, one you feel you are stuck into. I wanted to talk with her and quit the job everyday but I discovered I needed to go through the boring job if I wanted to survive long enough to talk with her, very nailed. Also, the chat was interesting and touching, I played it again to go through all of it.

A bit sad it has not an ending of sort but she just repeat the last chat forever, I don't know if this is on purpose tho. The interface tho could be improved by a lot, I was a bit confused by it at the beginning. Also, I would have removed the use of mouse, and for the crowd part I would have made it so that I look at the center of the screen, while I just looked at the top right corner and the cool metro screen was totally ignored.

Overall a very personal game, and the cat part was very funny, very out of the loop as I think was supposed to be =)

Continuate così!

zaibakk 2020-10-07 10:35

Thank you for your feedbacks guys! Really appreciated.

I want just to say: the game **has a good ending**, if you can find it!

***Can you break the loop?***

arthur-mairs 2020-10-07 10:36

This was very good. the game bugged out a few times while trying to choose what prompt i wanted to say to the girl. But i spent more time in the work part then i would like to admit. also nice music!

snailrhymer 2020-10-07 10:41

Very nice! It felt a bit odd having "checkpoints" in an email chain, but I otherwise really enjoyed this.

dark-prince-zen 2020-10-07 15:07

I like the concept and it fits the theme nicely with the mood and audio. But even with finding the other story arc, I found it a bit too monotonous at some points. I know people like these types of games but just not for me. Well done though. Runs nicely.

zelif 2020-10-07 15:30

A+ for the kitty ! ;D

Great work guys, gave me a emily is away vibe. Felt a lot of pressure to get those convos done asap, I ended up skipping as quick as I could while looking out for key words. I had quit the job and only had $62 bucks left hope the holiday we take will be fine with that ;P

Great work!

beats 2020-10-08 09:18

felt like the start to a romantic comedy, feel like the music sets the mood, nice entry.

twistedhawk 2020-10-10 15:54

Nice take on the theme! I think you captured the repetition of it pretty well. One thing I would change is better feedback, and a delay in words. Walking prompts and typing prompts went just a little too fast for me.

mog13 2020-10-10 16:41

Good mood in this! A little issue with the resolution and sometimes knowing what to do. I enjoyed the idea and concepts, great work!

chris-mulholland 2020-10-10 18:12

Oh yea we did have very similar ideas! I enjoyed your music choice and the slow ticking of the clock, really conveys the mood

keyurrana 2020-10-10 18:15

Great game and a really nice take on the theme!! The chats can be improved. If you choose the wrong option, she can correct you instead of leaving and then playing through another day to choose the next option. Also, the cursor can be on the text box when the job starts.

Great work overall! :)

davidwesst 2020-10-12 02:42

Really liked the interpretation of the theme. I definitely appreciate someone seeing the "stuck in a loop" that many of us experience everyday. Given, I'm biased (see my submission for the reference).

Really liked the narrative with the lady from the subway and liked the little games for each part of my day.

Had a few challenges with the controls and getting the dialogue to progress (didn't realize I had to click on the PC box and use the keyboard too) and found the subway thing to get a bit tedious with the mouse (would have preferred the keyboard).

All in all, I really thought this was my kind of game and overall experience! Great work!

zaibakk 2020-10-12 08:37

Thank everybody for your feedbacks guys! @davidwesst you can use arrow keys for the subway part! :) (sorry if it not explained well)

arscene 2020-10-13 17:33

I really enjoyed your game, your take on the theme is quite unique. You managed to picture the daily routine quite well.

Game wise I have some feedbacks for you: For the train scene, the main element (the one that the user will look at the most) is located on the top right of the screen. I expect the action to be easily readable, putting in the center (somehow) would improve the comprehension. Otherwise I really like the way you implemented QTEs.

For the second scene (working), since you need the keyboard it would be nice to have the input to be automatically focused.

For the third scene (room), I am not quite sure what the purpose of this scene is. From what I understand you simple pass a message, that you are too tired from your routine to do anything. Yet I feel like having to do the dishes or clean your room / appartement would enhance your point / message.

Overall you could add feedbacks when the user does a QTE right/wrong or when the user enters the correct/incorrect word at work. Even if it is just a sound I am not always sure if I did the task right :)

Really nice entry, I played for a while !

thecritterscove 2020-10-15 13:07

For the mood and the theme, this game really excelled. Admittedly the mini-games aren't really my taste to begin with, so it's hard to give a fair evaluation there. Though I think they would have benefitted from more variety, especially since the metro only uses left and right (or does this change if you get further?). It's an interesting idea, I think it just needs a bit more content to round it out some.

codertrevor 2020-10-17 19:19

Cool little game. This feels very artsy. The juxtaposition of the mellow music and constant clock ticking made an interesting statement. Sadly, I think it was bugged for me (on the web) - the first time I played the cat-finding minigame it worked, but after I lost and retried, the cat never showed up again. I tried like six or seven more times. I might try the Windows build later and see if it's better.

I think the idea of having a few simple minigames works very well for a jam game and it was fun. I really liked the music and mood of this, too. Good job!

thebooksnail 2020-10-18 19:04

I broke the loop! The clock was a nice touch! An sfx for getting an incorrect input would have been nice. I didn't realize you could click on the person during the commute or things in the bedroom until I read the comments.

dhavavamba 2020-10-20 10:00

but it is not a mistake in my opinion that you did not notice the person, we wanted to make the breaking of the loop "non trivial"

gamescodedogs 2020-10-21 16:47

Great job for a jam! But I think I wasn't supposed to be enjoying that office job, was I? Made quite some money rather fast, was able to skip several days of working thanks to that :D

teto 2020-10-22 18:11

I actually really loved this game. I was just stuck in the loop the first time round thhen I read the comments and realised there was more to it. The concept is great and really reflects reality well. I also quite enjoyed that office job haha! After starting to talk to the girl, I found myself really wanting to get through the day and find out what happens next so I spent longer playing this and held my attention than a lot longer than most of the jam games.

I do have a couple of things that could be improved to make it more enjoyable though. On the metro, I found it quite irritating how far apart the arrows were and kept misclicking especially when I was trying to do it as quickly as I could against the clock. Maybe consider having the option to use arrow keys since it's not a skill based game so it doesn't really matter if it's a little too easy.

Personally, I found the falling in love over the internet in a week just a little too fast... Maybe if they'd just found the common want to run away they could have just done that as I feel the love part was unnecessary and took away from the reality of the storyline and the relatiablity of the game as a whole.

Overall, a really nice game with only a couple of things that pulled it down slightly for me. The moody atmosphere with the music, bland graphics on the metro and in the bedroom and the repetitveness really made for an incredible game! It was engaging, well polished and hit the theme in a beautifully original way. Well done!

tamail 2020-10-23 16:20

Hey, am I weird if I liked the office job? Is this some part of a personality test and I'm a psychopath or what? :D Really nice entry, loved the music, the idea, mini games, the breaking of the loop. Nice!
