html5 version seems somehow broken.. I could move, but not do anything in the room...

viralsun 2019-04-30 08:08

(HTML5 version)

I really like the idea of the puzzle, but either I'm a moron who is missing an obvious game mechanic (to be fair I'm super tired after teh jam) or the third room is almost impossible. If there is a mechanic outside of the 3 life blobs you can use and seeming to need to have frame perfect movement, then it's not spelt out well enough. I like the art style, and I don't think i've seen that type of puzzle before, so really good job on that front.

I like the mood, the grafics and the music are matching well. But the player is moving way to slow. This makes it a little bit boring. And the main problem: The player is to slow to get past room three. Or I am to stupid. Not going past room three, I cannot so how the game matches the LD theme.

bnmkt 2019-04-30 08:15

Nice soundtrack and graphics ! Thanks for your game :)

gekko 2019-04-30 08:57

I cant get past room 3, maybe im missing some mechanic or something but you are way to slow to reach the door

paulhocker 2019-04-30 12:36

thanks for the feedback all -- it is maybe not obvious that you can drop more than one life in the currents at once -- i will make a windows export for html breaks

t-bo 2019-04-30 17:10

I love the pixel art knight and the music ! Beautiful work on light and levels ! Good job !

edshotmachine 2019-05-01 05:11

Was confused at first, but once it gets going its pretty fun. Wish there were more levels that expanded on the mechanic more.

svntax 2019-05-01 05:11

The main puzzle mechanic is pretty interesting. I'm not sure if I got to the ending because after the 6th room everything turned black.

ayced 2019-05-01 05:12

Took me a while to figure out how to beat level/room 3 but once I found out you could put more than one life into the thingies it went smooth.

The graphics are nice!

squirmonkey 2019-05-01 05:12

I like this idea, it could have used a tutorial but I eventually figured out that I could hit the things more than once. I think it needs more mechanics, as it got a little bit repetitive towards the end (it looks like you were starting to build coins/speed but ran out of time?)

anderssonkev 2019-05-01 05:16

I really liked the way the mechanics worked. I understood that you could place more than one but I couldn't get past room 3. Other than that I had a lot of fun, the grid based movement is very charming!

ninjacatz 2019-05-01 05:19

Is the end a black screen? I just did not count the levels )) Nice job!

mamoniem 2019-05-01 06:57

Good take on the theme. It was hard to get the point at first, i keep pressing "E" and nothing happens, until mistakenly I've don it while being within the blue circle, then it was the "Ahaaaaa" moment.

The game is overall nice, and fitting theme perfectly, also impressive that you used godot engine, which is something we don't see a lot recently.

My only issue with the game, that i've always been thinking i'll be using the sword :D it is there, so i must use it, but I didn't so far!!

Really nice little puzzle game. I liked the dynamic of the life giving and diffrent speeds of retrieval. Graphics and art were also on point. The only thing that bugged me was the running speed of the character. Could've been a little faster. Also, i like it more when you aren't tied to a tile to tile movement. All in all, great stuff!

trozen 2019-05-01 16:26

This is a very innovative take on the theme! I really appreciate how unique the 'time puzzle' mechanic is in your game. I beat all 6 levels!

good-enough 2019-05-01 17:20

The music and art style are pleasing, and I like the way the life swims around in the current for a bit before moving on.

I can't get past the third level though. I'm putting three lives into the current on the right, and then waiting on the second until the instant when the second life comes back to me. I throw two lives in that, and rush/walk maddeningly slowly to the exit. I always get there just after the door shuts.

listonos 2019-05-01 23:01

Could be a little more forgiving in the begging to get used to the mechanic but neat idea and cute graphics.

estuvomuybien 2019-05-02 05:12

It's a bit slow, albeit chill. Thought it was going to be a bit more than just putting "lives" on a thingy, such as fighting enemies while preserving your lives for the puzzles. Really difficult to complete some levels and felt like I was entering the door on the last frame, but still managed to make it to the end. Graphics are pretty good too.

cnatalo 2019-05-02 05:21

I'm getting the same error.

BTW I just saw your answer ._."

ransom 2019-05-02 05:37

This is a neat little puzzle game. Once I figured out that I could drop pixels into the circles on the floor, and that I could do more than one at a time, I was fine. It would help to be more overt with the mechanics in the game.

It also felt a bit sluggish. If the game speed were cranked up a bit, I think it would be more fun.

I don't feel like there was much of a "life is currency" mechanic here though, because even though you called the white pixels "life," they didn't affect your character's vitality at all. I had zero life, but was still alive. Also the speed and coins counters seem superfluous, because I didn't find anything that would change those values.

Is it possible to attack anything? The character has a sword and shield, but I couldn't find a way to smash stuff.

I'm also wondering if there's meant to be an end screen after level 6. I just had a blank screen there.

Still, it's a good core. Nice work.

sangemdoko 2019-05-02 09:31

Good game. Can't seem to get past room 3 though. I use 3 lifes in the bottom right then I put 2 in the upper left. I run as fast as the game allows and the door closes in front of me everytime. I must be missing something. Good job on the art it's very nice.

julienlussiez 2019-05-02 16:50

I tried the game but I was stuck in room 3. I think I might miss something. The art is good and there's potential for an interesting puzzle.

geckoo1337 2019-05-02 20:53

Hello. The web version did not work for me - I use Firefox, the latest version under windows10. So I downloaded the zip file as an executable and it works! I love the aesthetic and the mood. The gameplay is intuitive and really quiet. Maybe too hard for me. It could be an interesting puzle game with more features. I had fun playing. Well done ++

jjjjason 2019-05-03 02:42

Managed to get to the end after a little bit of finagling. The mechanic is interesting, but I think the puzzles probably need a little more workshopping time (hard in a gamejam!) to more fully realize the mechanic, as right now most of the puzzles are relatively straightforward once you understand the speediness of the lines. Also, while it is a good mood contributor, I don't know if the fog-o-war contributes positively to the puzzle solving spirit though.

You've got a cool base to build upon here, so I'm looking forward to seeing how you expand upon it.

zoneoutapps 2019-05-03 05:29

Loved figuring out the system...to the soft, peaceful music! Very nostalgic and inviting. Rated! :)

moldymagnet 2019-05-03 05:30

I just got a black screen, I think I hit a bug or something.

hans1203 2019-05-03 05:36

A nice game overall but the movement feels way too slow. Took me a bit of time to finally realize that you can put more than one life down , but I had a lot of fun playing the game. Good work!

maskinmask 2019-05-03 05:39

pulzzes are fun.music is good.nice game~

keyurrana 2019-05-04 04:20

Nice little game. I really liked the mechanics. Nice music too.

However, the game is a bit slow. Also, I didn't get the point of coins and speed.

One minor issue, after solving all puzzles I just got a black screen.

Overall, really cool idea. Good job!

sundhar 2019-05-06 03:11

after level 2 i cant able to move in the game....but overall...its a nice game with nice graphic and music..

carlsonandpeeters 2019-05-06 03:19

Solid puzzle mechanics, nice core concept, great visuals. Would've loved more levels and mechanics; I think this is worth expanding on! Great stuff

dflinders 2019-05-07 22:08

I couldn't get past room 3. Loved the art style, gameplay and music though. Good job.

kerdelos 2019-05-09 12:00

It's nice to see a game made with Godot ! The puzzles are interesting and the atmosphere fits well. The game was a bit too dark, especially far from the character and even tough i get how it correlates to the timed puzzles, moving was way too slow (maybe the timer could be linked to player steps instead of time ?) Good job anyway !
