This is a test Edit : a failure ...

garymarance 2018-12-03 13:19

Hello

pxlucasf 2018-12-03 20:38

This game is SICK (almost literally )! Everything is fantastic. If you add some music, better differentiate one event from another according to the severity, add some music (by the way, those sound effects are great), translate it for other languages and polish it even more, you could totally sell it on Steam. And keep me in touch because I would be the first to buy it and I know that a bunch of people that like that style of game would do the same!

Keep the great work, and please continue developing it after the jam is over!:sparkles:

badosz 2018-12-03 20:39

I love the concept and gameplay. Kinda messy on start but idea is so good

captainweeaboo 2018-12-03 20:52

Game itself is pretty cool, but I see 2 main problems imo: first - text on card feels unnecessary, because I doubt that someone can read them anyways even playing on fullscreen; second one - I like both skill-based and resource managment games, and I understand why you choose to combine those mechanics, but it's just doesn't feel right for me. Anyways, really well done.

carbonara 2018-12-03 20:57

Depending of the theme, this game was amazing.

Maybe 1 thing, the "validation" sound is probably a bit to high, but at least the music is great and immersive and about the emotion, you realy feel the sacrifices that you have to do to reach the next level (maybe the next city to save?). Not hard to take in hands, not hard to end, nice design.

Thanks for the experience.

binarylynx 2018-12-03 20:57

Come on I want to play this game already! XD

owlycode 2018-12-03 21:13

Awesome priority management game. The medical theme makes you want to save everyone but you quickly realize sacrifices must be made.

garymarance 2018-12-03 21:41

@pxlucasf, on wich platform/build are you playing ? Music should be here (and the latest build from 2 minutes ago is available). Thanks you so so much for your the nice comments ! Don't know yet if we'll continue developing, but we'll let you know :) @captainweeaboo, sorry to hear the mix doesn't work for you, and yeah, the cards are reaaaally too fast for anyone to read ! But if you're willing to make some sacrifices, you can take the time to read it (sometimes it worth it) ;) @binarylynx, aaaaaand it's here ! @carbonara, @badosz, @owlycode, thank you so much for your comments !!!

2018-12-04 12:03

My reaction when i woke up this morning and i see your comments was something like this https://media1.tenor.com/images/b21ca18f23c44e51314d8db7e81cc422/tenor.gif?itemid=7413343

Thank's so much !

theonethatneverwas 2018-12-04 13:23

Amazing game! Very cool idea. I had a lot of fun after I got the hang of it. Good job!

spierek 2018-12-04 13:25

Looks like there's only a Mac and Linux version available on itch?

garymarance 2018-12-04 13:38

@spierek this is a problem, it should be there... It's being fixed ☺ so don't hesitate to come again ad try our game ! Thanks for reporting !

spierek 2018-12-04 13:42

@garymarance Thanks, it looks like the Windows build is visible again :)

mortus 2018-12-04 14:04

Great game mechanics-wise! Fun, original and easily scalable. I think I've encountered a bug though, on the second day I've upgraded one of my medics to use a truck and the following day I couldn't use him at all - he was just sitting at the bottom of the screen, doing nothing. Understandably, I could only save ~30% of people that shift. And the next day it didn't fix itself, so I could only use 2 medics to the end of that game.

garymarance 2018-12-04 14:14

@mortus understandable it is ! Thanks for your comment and reporting that bug, our programer will take a look at it.

However, in the talent tree you can buy two more units for a total of 5 so you can save more lives ^^ @theonethatneverwas thank you, it's heart warming ☺

sadzanenyama 2018-12-04 14:17

One of the most polished games I've seen for this jam. Very good game! The best I've seen so far!

garymarance 2018-12-04 14:47

@sadzanenyama so much love, thank you so much ! 😁

kanacell 2018-12-04 15:48

a very great game. It reminds me the "anxiety" when i play at 911 operator (and the graphics also remind me it). Like in a previous comment, i think that the description is more of less useless, maybe you could add "effect" on cards that need to be read and treat with specifics medics and then the player will have to make a "greater sacrifice" than just the amount of civils to save. The music work finely on me and add some presure during my shifts. The gameplay in general is nice (the 2 events timeline, the upgrade system, the rest time after each event) In conclusion, nice work ! If i see this game in sale on steam, be sure that i will be a player :)

2018-12-04 21:45

Nice concept, but I can't read all text, they are too fast.

fnissalot 2018-12-04 22:22

Nice Game! I like the feeling it creates! fitting to the theme!

2018-12-05 02:23

Excelent game. I feel that the description of the events is rather useless due to the speed in which you have to respond to them. Other than that the gameplay is solid, the audio is solid and it fits the theme perfectly.

arkinrev 2018-12-05 02:59

I loved the game. Everything about it. I liked triage tracks, the building a hand of cards that improved, and that my performance earned points on the management end. Clean interface, I understood how to play from a single player aid. Very clear, excellent execution. Great work!

vimlark 2018-12-05 07:19

I for sure had the feeling of there has to be a sacrifice every time I see a 1 card come passing by. My top game that I have played so far. Great job!

2018-12-05 15:23

Loved it ! I was so stressed man ! Well played !

willbl3pic 2018-12-05 17:07

Wow. This is unparalleled. The sounds are great, the gameplay mechanic is unique... I did get an issue were a card just got stuck in the middle of the screen, unusable, but other than that this is amazing. I would buy it.

madrededios 2018-12-05 18:59

Very cool! The mood is theme, great theme implementation, nicely innovative gameplay, and it can go on for quite some time with this nice upgrade system! Fantastic job!

2018-12-05 19:46

Very polished Game ! Congratulation :)

2018-12-05 20:06

Really cool and simple concept, it was funny to play ! Hard the first time but it's possible to improuve our skill after some others party.

One thing : I clic several time on the upgrade "timer" of one of my "First Aid" and the card saty stuck down with no timer... I understand that I could pick it even if the card wwas down.

madbear-gang 2018-12-05 20:13

Incredible fast paced game. I love this! 5/5

jeu-embouteillage 2018-12-05 20:49

Great concept and the theme is really reflected in the gameplay. You just feel so helpless being not able to save everyone. "Sacrifices must be made", that fits so well. Well done !

moski 2018-12-05 21:05

2 dumb accidents and a wheelchair race?! Come on, people. Can you freakin' wait 5 seconds without messing something up?!

firefox_2018-12-05_14-45-05.jpg

Is this a fast paced card game? A simulation? A roguelike puzzle experience? With skill trees? Hell yeah, it's everything and goshdangit I want it on my phone. I swear, this is one of the few games of LD that I'd really like to play even after the judging session is over. It's just so good, addictive, and with so many decisions that truly make the player want to try different approaches.

I'm labelling it with the dreaded-yet-true _easy to learn, hard to master_ motto. 3 runs in and I'm still on a 56% average. I'm going to get lawsuits up the wazoo, but in all fairness, if these people can't make it through dumb accidents, wheelchair racing or freaking street fights (I lol'd), I'd say it's more on natural selection than my poor prioritizing skills.

With great music and atmospheric visuals, this is quite an immersive game. Perhaps my favorite of the jam to date. [I'll be informing my team about it](discord.whalesandgames.com), with the idea that they'll find it as engaging as I did. Kudos, and keep making greatness! :whale:

pavocado 2018-12-05 21:13

This is absolutely amazing! I can't find a flaw in this at all!

ninjacreeper47 2018-12-06 01:23

This was the best game I have tried so far. I would say it's biggest strength is that it makes you feel the theme. You feel like the operator who realizes they do have to make sacrfices. The player embraces making sacrfices by doing things like saving their truck to get the most value, not bothering with odd numbers if they only have even cards ect. The music adds to the urgency which the player constantly feels and the graphics show exactly what is going on while reinforcing the theming. I love the mechanic of hand and cool-down managment combined with making choices of who to assign. The skill trees add interesting decesions about what hand you want to have. My absolute favourite thing about this game is the inclusion of the description of the emergencies, this is brilliant becuase as the operator you realize that these don't matter. Instead of thinking about what happened to these people you look at them as just numbers. My only complaint with the event descriptions is that th ere was not enough variety, which deimmeresed me after I saw the 4th wheel chair race in one day, that felt off.

I didn't really notice a difference when using the fast moving skill tree, so I would make that more impactful.

2018-12-06 13:27

Firstly : thanks to all of you for the return. And the one I see most is about the texts and the speed of the card who don't allow time to read them. I reassure you : it's only some fluff and funny things. The text doesn't have any importance (yet ?). For example, the text on the critical card (those that pass on the bottom line) is something like "this card is too fast to be read. If you can, you probably got an old computer". There is serious description, some funny, or with black humor, but all of them is just fluff.

lilou-cormic 2018-12-07 02:37

Once I stopped reading the description of the cards and focusing on the actual victim count it was great. The background music and ambient sounds/voices set the mood and I did have to make sacrifices. Took me a couple of upgrade rounds to see that the prices where displayed in the bottom left corner. Other than that, great job all around!

2018-12-07 02:39

This game is incredible! It fits the theme perfectly and does everything right. Your choices carry weight and it becomes a balacning act to save as many people as possible. The upgrade system was a nice touch and really made the game interesting and kept the difficuty curve balanced. Your team managed to come up with an innovative approach to a theme that could have easily been generic. The sound, graphics, and mood were excellent. Great job!!

thecritterscove 2018-12-07 03:15

I really like the mechanics in this game! Probably the most polished game I've seen this LD. As someone else mentioned, it was hard to see the effects of the upgrades in the First Aid line. I unfortunately did hit a bug in the last round. Left most card wouldn't move after the most recent upgrade(first aid line). So that card was totally unusable in the last round. Still great job on the theme, nice music, and I'm envious of your artist!

My score isn't great, but I'm posting a screenshot since it's always nice to see as devs how players are doing.medi_score.jpg

peter-maxwell 2018-12-07 03:47

This is incredible. Fun, fast, smart, different, extremely thematic, even funny (please make a Total War style battle mode add-on, where all you do is murder Angry Unicorns).

I want to see this as a table-top card game, possibly partnered with the studio that made Pandemic, which I enjoy. This may top that. Phenomenal work in a short time to make such a complete game. 5/5 across the board. You even resisted adding the Wilhelm scream. GG High Score!.PNG

fahrenheit459 2018-12-07 09:06

Very very cool ! and efficient as fuck ! :) You have to create an endless mode and turn it on mobile !!!

dusho 2018-12-08 11:56

really cool and fun game. also made very professional, amazing art and music, very cool mood overall. good work!

2018-12-08 18:00

Great game! Really liked how the audio and speed of things pumps up the atmosphere in the game.

coda-highland 2018-12-12 05:54

I expected to just play one game of this to evaluate it for the sake of the karma.

I ended up playing four games in a row trying to optimize my strategy and I'm going back for another one. EXCELLENT game. Well done!

If I may make a suggestion: Drags can be annoying for laptop users. Could you consider supporting a click to select a card and a click to put it on a patient? Or even better, number keys to pick a card and a click to put it in place. That way reaction time isn't so limited by hardware.

lucecyl 2018-12-12 18:35

Excellent game. I love the features of upgrades. Really nice thought of the concept! I think the game has a nice replay factor, because the player wants always try too save as many people as possible.
