I was a great time developping this game and I hope you will enjoy it even more
The game is fun, there are a lot of ability to play with! Also the 3D model is nice! hmmm but is it only my problem? I can't move with WASD/ZQSD
@goldranger Thanks for your feedback, about your problem, what is the language of your keyboard? The game should have one binding for French keyboard and another one for QWERTY keyboard.
just normal QWER keyboard, is there any downloadable version to let me test out is it the HTML problem?
Sadly, for a downloadable version, it will have to wait until the end of the Ludum. What navigator do you use? I tried on Chrome and Firefox and it seems that, if you change the Firefox language to French, it works (not on Chrome). I hope this will help you
@goldranger Hi, I'm one of the devs. There seems to have been an issue with the Qwerty key biding when releasing the game last night. We are currently building a bug fix
Nice little game. I don't know if it was intended, but on my laptop the enemies kinda look like they're claymotion and it adds a nice cheesy touch to the game.
By the way, you can disable the scrollbars on the play window on itch.io.
It seems that I cannot move my character by WASD. Nice Graphic, nice game though.
@econgamer Thank you for feed back, we are currently working on fixing this bug ;)
Hi ! I'm another dev. Really sorry for the WASD problem, it's currently being fixed ! I hope you will enjoy this game :)
I cannot control my character, but the graphics are nice. Hope you will fix that.
@pierkwadrat , @econgamer, @goldranger we have fixed the bug about WASD moves and there is a windows build if you prefer at the bottom of the itch.io page
wow ok, the game feels much better now, Although I mentioned that the 3D model is great, I think the attack/run animation is not smooth enough, it feels kind of laggy. It can enhance the gameplay experience if the animation is playing correctly! one more thing, how many waves are there? I can only get to wave 2 :joy:
@goldranger Glad you like it ! This is our first game jam so it is nice to hear :) We're working on more patches to try and correct all this, so keep wired !
For the waves… it's an endless game haha. See how far you can make it ;)
Good job guys! The gameplay is pretty smooth most of the time. It would be nice if the player speed increased when he isn't shooting, in order to give him some more tactical choices.
Great effort getting this done in 3D! The top-down shooting mechanics were well done, I would place a label on the powers in the UI as I had to keep looking back at the instructions to know what button activated each of the powers. Good looking models too.
Nice 3D Game you made. The Camera was bit buggy on the edges, but in generell a really good game. Good Work!
Fun little game. I like the usage of the power-ups. Hope to see more in the future like this.
Good job guys !
Wow this was fun! I would really like to play this game as a multiplayer with different enemy types and maybe more skills.
The game was very nice! I feel like the minotaurs spawned a bit quickly—I think that having them come in waves with some time in between would have been nice. However, I love the concept and the implementation of sacrifices is great!
Also—amazing audio!
@norb we wanted to make multiple types of ennemies but lacked the time to implement it but I like the idea of a multiplayer coop but maybe the map would be a bit small for that.
@artur-hawkwing in fact, minotaurs come in waves with a time between them but one wave do not spawn immediateley: there is a maximum number of enemies on screen and when you kill one, another one spawn. We did this because, when you make them all spawn at the same time, you can quickly accumulate them in a pck that you just have to shoot while walking away from them. But I agree that the first part of a wave is quite difficult so spacing their spawn a bit more can be a good idea.
For both: glad you enjoyed it :)
The concept of the game is very interesting, but i think that probably due to the timeframe the game became a bit flawed.
The scenario and the 3d models are nice and so are their animations, but seeing them as this i feel the absence of visual effects when deploying the powers compromises the game experience.
Also, the minotaur generating rate is a bit overwhelming, and their numbers quickly become too difficult to fight against, but in fact it was a fun thing to see.
That said, is a fun game to play.
@derek-volker thx for your feedback! Concerning the visual effects, we created many visual effects with shaders, but we ran out of time to implement them ^^
good idea for game :D
the arrows are not visible, it would be good if you put the skills with which keys are used in the gameplay :v:
Really fun entry ! I loved the crowd control aspect of the game, as well as the polished graphics and audio package.
Pros : - The many abilities combined with your spawn rate offers great crowd control opportunities - Nice 3D graphics and soundtrack - Tight controls
Cons : - Some lack of visual feedback (the arrows do not seem to appear in WebGL) - The number of different abilities introduced from the get go seems a little overwhelming, especially considering the long cooldowns (wanna try to see which ability does what ? you're immediately punished).
All in all, great job guys !
@luis-guariglia , @jlv , none of us had problems with the arrows on webGL (we tried on Firefox and Chrome), do you use one of them or another navigator? Maybe try with the build if it really does not work on all navigators.
to @jlv , for the abilities, it's for the theme, you can use you abilities but have to sacrifice your stats for that. The idea is that you have to use them only if needed but maybe it would have been better to put shorter cooldowns as it already punish you with your stats. Anyways, thanks for your feedbacks :)
An interesting game with a kind of mechanics. I put a rating) Please rating and me, thanks in advance)
The html version was a little bit buggy for me! But cool concept though
Nice Game! Good Luck!
I played the HTML-Version and weren't able to control properly :/ Iam using a german QWERTZ Keyboad layout and both options did not work out for me. As far as I were able to play, the game looks really nice, you have done some impressive artwork here for just a weekend.
You've done a great job with the graphics, and well done for implementing multiple powers!
It may just have been me/my browser, but I had some trouble telling whether or not my arrows were connecting with the Minotaurs -- having them flash red or some other feedback could really help players when learning to aim the crossbow.
@meldrian I am sorry to hear about your bug, it would seem the HTML version has a bug about controls that I can not recreate (it works for me on all my navigators). Maybe if you try the Windows build version (if you are on Windows)you will be able to play without bugs. Anyways, thanks for the feedback :)
@pennycook First, thanks for the feedback. We did not think about a visual feedback on the Minotaurs when they are hit: there is a sound but it might not be enough so I like the idea of a visual feedback. We'll think about this feature for a later patch (after the Ludum)
I'm very impressed with the level design. I think there needs to be some sort of camera tweaks when you are near the bottom of the level. The geometry Blocks view
Your game was played on my stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos ) on the fifth day of Ludum Dare streams (Part 2). Thank you for sharing your game with us! You can find the timestamp of when your game was played here: https://goo.gl/N2rkr8
Hey! I like the graphics and the level design a whole lot. Maybe a couple polishable things and bugs here and there, but it's kinda obvious when making a game in a small amount of time. The audio is also good. Really good concept, and a nice entry!
@masterkrepta Thanks for the feedback, we know the camera has some problems near the bottom of the level but lacked the time to correct it
@ursagames thanks, I watched a bit of your test and I really don't know what made the bug about the shoot not following the mouse.
@raffe thanks :)
Nice game ! I like the graphics a lot, the design are great. The gameplay is simple but I had a lot of fun trying to overcome the absurdly great number of ennemies. My only complain is maybe the difficulty curve too steep ? I mean, wave 1 I was surrounded by dozens of ennemies. But it's maybe just me that didn't used the most efficients attacks ? I dunno... Good game anyway !
@toulou we came with the idea that, instead of the waves being harder and harder, it would always be the same wave and the player become weaker and weaker. The difficulty curve is indeed too steep but we lacked the time to fully balance the wave to be difficult enough to force the player to use his abilities (to not let continue to infinity without sacrificing anything) but easy enough so that the player can feel the curve. Sorry about that but thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it :)
There's no stop to them. It's a stampede!

Got to say, the game does have the benefit of a bunch of skills and a good layout for the graphics. It's not exactly revolutionary, but for a jam game, I'd say it exceeds expectations of what I originally thought it'd be. But it did feel a bit unfair, given that enemies ended up spawning way faster than I could kill them.
Still tho, the control scheme is a bit weird. It's not quite intuitive which button does what, which is specially alarming when surrounded by enemies. More often than not, it was better to just spam everything and hope for the best. Try to at least give some instructions, and even put the keys over the skills so the players have no problem in telling which does what.
Keep up the good job! [My team](discord.whalesandgames) are always looking forward to seeing where else projects of this kind can go. Cheers! :whale:
I wasn't able to kill any enemies for some reason. Also I think all the different abilities made it a bit much. I think focusing on let's say three mechanics and explore what you can do with them would be a lot more interesting. The graphics and music were quite good. I guess it fits the theme but only poorly. Making sure every ability you put in the game is useful is very important in making this game more fun and simple to play.
woah, those raters you got are strict.... here is the score I gave 33.PNG ahh actually it should be all -0.5 but I add it up because I know you guys are the first time. And more important, I can feel you guys love games and love what you made from your comments ( I guess). Don't be frustrated and keep making games!
