This game was very fun to look at and listen to. The particle effects were very well done, the sprites were consistent and drawn very well. And the music, oh god the music! It was amazing!

I think the game needs some more work on the gameplay side of things. Maybe a mechanic or two that add an interesting twist on the genre, so it stands out among the rest of the endless runners.

It's a very solid game with amazing visual and audio work. I did encounter one bug where I got stuck on a rock, but I didn't encounter it afterwards. Well Done!

So many good things to say about this so lets get started.

Pro: The particles, art style and music gave me an arcade feel. The increase in speed enforced that feel even more, gives it that competetive edge when playing with friends. The music did not grow boring after playing once, I never even had the urge look for a mute button. The mood the game sets is awesome, not only are you running for your life but you get to kill a bunch of people on the way! The boulders give the game that little extra, you are not just running but also jumping to dodge the obstacles.

Con: I died going too far down? No enemies, so you can just kill any character by walking over them. An enemy to dodge (with a dodge roll to get past perhaps) could add a lot of depth.

Over all a really good game, enjoyed playing it quite a bit.

Neat! Great chiptunes soundtrack, nice particle splatter, loved the intro that also introduced the main gameplay effect (wall of spikes, dangerous, avoid!) Maybe would've given the player a sword or something so it's clear from the start they can kill the zombies, made things harder for myself for a while there :) Also giving it a clear ending would've been nice, i.e. "rescue 10 survivors/kill 20 zombies/survive for 60 seconds"; you could've then added an endless mode for those so inclined.

I loved this music! Its maybe the best so far! It was a bit confusing how to kill enemies at first but i got the hang of it. Also a hard game.

jisam 2018-08-14 04:56

Please, I hope an unseen platform is there. Killing zombies and saving people are too funny. So I forget to go down. Also, I hate those rocks...

gmaker 2018-08-14 21:14

@wolfrug great idea to have a clear endings like you mentioned but actually I didn't have enough time to implement even the main idea of what I want. Next time, next time. )

java, nice

jackou 2018-08-14 21:57

Really great entry in my opinion! I like the art and music. In the beginning I just tried avoiding the zombies not knowing that I could just run into them to kill them. Once I figured out the kill count it was even more fun killing those creeps :P I liked it a lot! Well done.

sciman101 2018-08-15 13:46

Really solid entry, very well polished! Particles, sprites and sounds were all really nice, player handled well, and the concept was executed well. Also, you made it in java? Props for that

iballs 2018-08-15 13:48

I like how it keeps you alert, and try not to day haha! awesome work

raccoon-js 2018-08-15 16:32

GREAT GAME!

swini 2018-08-15 22:04

Solid entry! Old style based pixleart with low resolution make the game look moody. Great gameplay!

quicklyer 2018-08-15 22:35

Wow, definitely one of the compo standouts for me. Incredibly well done.

mike-inprinciple 2018-08-16 19:28

I enjoyed this one generally, but I'm not sure I agree with the idea of having the debris falling from the top kill you. I'm not sure this is actually what happens, but this was my perception.

roidz 2018-08-17 14:12

wow , great ! love this one on so many different levels. Great art, great music, great game. Extra points because this is a compo entry.

shozou 2018-08-17 14:15

Hey, it was a really nice game! Absolutely loved the sprite effects on death animations. I feel like the music is a bit too aggressive and may get annoying after few tries, perhaps if it would be a bit more quiet?

kirb 2018-08-19 02:41

Great entry! Fantastic art and music, but was a little confused about whether running into the zombies was good or bad =P.

mza 2018-08-20 14:26

A simple game that is a ton of fun. Everything is well executed apart from the menu screen which lacks a bit of sparkle. For gameplay though, its very fun. Moreover, audio and effects are superb. Impressive entry for a one-man/women army.

Wow I love the music! Probably best I've heard this jam. The graphic style is excellent and I enjoy the splatter animation. You made good use of the theme and the game is really fun to play. I'd like if you actually had to attack the enemies to kill them and colliding with them resulted in death (or loss of health) to increase the challenge. Also on my fourth play the player didn't spawn and I was stuck watching the spikes destroy platforms. Great game though it was a blast to play!

adrisj7 2018-08-24 03:46

Music was cool! Graphics were polished, and the particle effects were pretty funky. One complaint with the gameplay is that the zombies kinda don't harm you at all, so they are effectively the same thing as survivors (in my mind), but it's nice that they're there nonetheless.

Cool game, keep it up!

Simply Fantastic compo entry. whenever I play a game, i try first to play it without reading anything, to see how intuitive the game is, I dont take points off or anything (as strategy games for example, like the one me and my team made(wink wink nudge nudge), sometimes have some requiered reading) its just something I like to do first. Your game is intuitive and easy to grasp, the game teaches you its own ins and outs without forcing me to pause and read (one thing is to explain rules, another is to be forced to give "tips"). For example, you learn real quick that droping to each floor as quick as posible is proably not smart, as you wont see whats coming if you do. If you are too carefull however, you will RUN OUT OF SPACE.

Good work my friend. I did see two things im not sure are bugs or not: 1-when the celling kills you, you blink and die a few seconds later rather then an insta death + explosion 2- zombies can be killed with bolders OR jumping on them

BTW come to our discord and share your game! https://discord.gg/6mCgeN

Great game! Very cool and interesting! :D

mikethewayne 2018-08-26 12:56

This is what 5-star music sounds like! Brilliantly put together, controls are spot-on, with how your character slides around. At first, I was a bit wary of the enemies, until I ran into one, and it produced a satisfying particle effect as it popped out of existance. I have to say, while it's a great way of keeping score, perhaps if they actually paralysed you for half a second, it would make the game more difficult and intense? Just a thought, I like it this way all the same.

Overall, a fantastic entry, with absolutely stunning audio!

Nice entry! Loved the assets! The music is super fun~ I just hoped we could attack the zombies instead of colliding with them

Cheers!

gil4 2018-09-01 14:46

Loved the soundtrack! The game is pretty fun, I could see its full version with different enemies, platforms and objects released on mobile, haha. Great job, especially for a compo!

ursagames 2018-09-04 09:50

The music was wonderful! Very fun game too! Super satisfying to play this! Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back. Your game was played around 5:21 into this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298692367
