There is no link to the game

Cool spooky vibe and aesthetic. The spritework was pretty good, especially the monsters. Ammo was maybe a little too limited but I liked having to skirt around monsters. Could've used more levels, but even then it was tough to find the exit sometimes.

No links?

Very nice! The darkness effect was very cool! I think the objective could have been better, I was just running in circles, but maybe that's my fault :D

verbante 2018-08-13 07:31

Ohh, the atmosphere is so cool. A limit on "space bullets" would be nice for a higher feeling of desperation

Great concept, great execution. The audio and art are perfect for their genre. The animations and gameplay are clean and polished. One issue only, seems harder to see off bottom of screen than top. Marginal, but noticeable. Great work!

Controls are very reactive and I loved the retro graphic stile! Also, you had a creative idea that nailed the jam theme, well done! I had fun playing your game, but please give it some love in a Post Jam version

Thanks for you work, have a great day!

Really fun and atmospheric! The levels are a little too big and empty, which makes them hard to navigate around.

langep 2018-08-13 20:03

Sorry for the trouble with the links. It seems the Ludum Dare website sometimes does not show them. I added them to the description so hopefully everyone who wants can try it.

Gameplay is mostly good, but it may feel repetitive to just keep shooting to temporarily remove darkness. Perhaps add a cool down for the space grenade to help mix up the gameplay instead of relying on the left mouse action event.

I thought the character was James Bond at first glance haha. Very atmospheric and eerie. I thought you had to kill all the monsters, but then realised I had only 2 ammo. So I started avoiding the monsters instead of hunting them, until I found the door to the 2nd level! I also liked the animations.

Definitely a cool concept, I like it. Unfortunately it does quickly devolve into spamming the mouse button while walking around, but it, combined with the spooky enemies, really does a job of making you feel claustrophobic, which I assume was intended. Really liked the pixel art, character design, and retro style, but I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff. Only other comment would be, outside of the enimies adding to the claustrophobia, they don't exacty pose much of a threat. They can be outran and avoided pretty easily, and I found myself rarely using the weapon or the grenade.

not bad one

andrey-ugolnik 2018-08-15 03:30

JFYI, firefox version works fine in Safari under macOS.

Nice game art and game implementation itself.

Very Cool Ideas and game play experience. I feel the tension!

akirassasin 2018-08-15 07:03

Really liked how the enemies emit those sound waves when they're hidden! Nice game :)

comenoha 2018-08-15 07:07

The music and sound design really did a great job at creating a nice, tense atmosphere! Controls worked well and graphics were nice.

oats 2018-08-15 07:20

This is great! Everything was very atmospheric!

gmaker 2018-08-15 07:27

I liked the darkness and mood part as well. Well Done.

lortuk 2018-08-15 07:39

i loveee the sound in this game, i love how spooky it is and it fit so well with the graphics, which can be a bit more polish, the bullets sprite color is match with a ground texture so i ignore it a few times until i "accidently" walk on it. the way you make the game harder just by zoom in is really really smart, simple and work really well. i just think if i can stack up the ammo i have it would be better, and the "light gun" shouldn't be infinite ammo, you can make a charge meter for it cuz i can spam the light gun all over the place, the darkness means nothing to me, and the monster get stuck in darkness make it super easy to avoid

in general, nice atmosphere, nice game, very good job :)

el-metallico 2018-08-15 09:33

Wow, dude, very interesting concept, I really did enjoy this!

nidup 2018-08-15 11:14

Cool concept! Great atmosphere which fits well with the graphics and music, easy to start to play and good increasing difficulty with enemies. Well polished entry, congratz

randdir 2018-08-15 12:33

Nice job you did here. Very good concept. Just miss a better sound/music (in my opinion). Keep it up team !

raivk 2018-08-16 11:12

Great atmosphere, you can really feel the eery and stressful ambiance ! Well done.

kingdork 2018-08-19 03:01

Fun look! Good Sound! PEW PEW!

lexyvil 2018-08-21 06:33

Lots of constant shooting for air, but that alone is quite a unique concept! The song during the level is really tense too, it fits the mood a lot. It was short, but fun~ It makes me wish there was more to it.

ephoria 2018-08-21 11:44

Nice concept, the game apply a constant pressure on the player that forces us to always be in action. Good achievement I liked. Good job !

cr0w 2018-08-22 04:21

Made it! Definitely a big fan of the limited ammunition and the struggle to balance aiming with breathing. Atmosphere and mood were great. Reminded me of LISA, or the laboratory in Undertale. Really cool game. Very original mechanic, and well executed.

balance686 2018-08-22 04:22

An ever encroaching killer fog of war - I dig it! Nice concept and use of the theme. I dig the limited palette you used and the audio creates a creepy, panicky atmosphere. I think to increase the challenge you could put some kind of limitation on the air gun. I had it held down the whole time and was in no danger of running out of air. Also maybe speed up the enemies a bit because it's easy to not engage them at all. I like how you show them through the darkness though. Great submission!

frederika 2018-09-01 17:31

I like it, the mood was very claustrophobic and the way the darkness closed in was creepy. I did have some trouble moving sometimes and it wasn't clear why. I played the HTML5 version on Firefox.
