The controls didn't work properly: the character just automatically run into a single direction got stuck in the terrain.

thepugprogrammer 2015-08-25 16:17

It works properly in the web player and windows. Mac and Linux remain untested.

secularbaron 2015-08-26 02:27

The ground terrain looks cool. The game play reminds me of a pac-man.

thepugprogrammer 2015-08-26 14:24

Thanks! A new build fixing the broken features is uploaded. Some of the things fixed are : Points, Achievements and High scores! These features were always in the game but I diddnt have time to fix them after they broke.

pickensincorporated 2015-08-26 15:18

4692! Probably horrendous! Cool, odd game that reminds me of a (good) Bubsy 3D

thepugprogrammer 2015-08-26 15:20

Well thanks! I'm surprised by all the positive feedback! I thought this would be greatly hated upon.

bigbuggames 2015-08-26 15:24

Controls worked fine for me! Actually it's what I enjoyed the most, kind of a slippery hard to control monster.

floatingghost 2015-08-26 15:45

Can't click play

powerspark 2015-08-26 15:49

I like this. The greatest feat was controlling the character, but if it were easy to control the game would be way too simple.

steboots 2015-08-28 22:55

Music was great, while I'm sure you would've done a lot more if you had the time, I actually really enjoyed the controls. There's plenty of games that have easy keep away game play, the rotation of 90 degrees at a time kept me thinking of how I was going to lure and get away, not bad!

stahlmandesign 2015-08-29 03:26

I ate a few yellow dots and got to the white thing. Score 6802. Music didn't really fit the light-hearted, cartoonish look of the game. And t didn't seem like I was the monster. It felt like I was being chased by monsters. Controls seemed fine to me. Impressive what you can do with Unity and 3D in a browser these days.

nudawg 2015-08-30 03:44

Worked fine for me.

tsn_rampage 2015-08-30 03:50

I tried quite a few times to get to the white thing, but just couldn't manage it. I do like the control scheme, I think a lot could be done with this. Also, love the terrain effect!

namrog84 2015-08-30 05:03

controls are weird, was a bit confused in gameplay.

boardtobits 2015-08-30 05:06

Controls were a little floaty, but all told the game functioned. Just wished there was a little more to do. Good effort!

vikingpotato 2015-08-30 05:43

The black outlines on the terrain looks good. The characters seem funny. Good entry for the Jam time limit!

jofra 2015-08-30 17:51

Love their faces X) cool simple entry for a jam.

solarexplorer 2015-08-30 20:55

Controls felt odd, character didnt turn smoothly.

tackorama 2015-08-30 20:58

Mac version works ok. The camera takes ages to catch up with the weird monster.

jacob123 2015-08-30 23:52

Cool idea. Would love to see it with some different enemies and whatnot.

mykaelos 2015-08-31 01:14

Definitely appropriately named =) The odd controls and slidy-ness made it far more interesting.

I had an issue logging in. It kept saying that I had an incorrect username or token, when I definitely did not. But then it saved my score anyways. So maybe there's a bug with being auto-signed in, blocking manual signin?

For 8 hours of work, good job =)

thepugprogrammer 2015-08-31 01:22

Thanks! Literally JUST before you commented I played your game.

flaid 2015-08-31 01:23

This is pretty dang good considering you only worked on it for 8 hours! The controls were a little funky at first, but it was pretty easy to move around once I got used to it.

infokub-arcade 2015-08-31 21:53

Nice game ! The music is too loud and the concept kinda weirdo but i still got fun with it ! I scored 12K ! Thanks :)

pantoufle 2015-09-01 15:19

Not so bad for an 8 hours work!
I think the camera works well, and it's not easy to do in a 3D third person view.
I liked the overall game, it was challenging but not too hard. I managed to finish it and put my score on the board :-)
The music is wisely chosen, it sets a funny and enjoyable mood.
Maybe with more work on the backstory the theme would be more obvious.
Overall, great job!

poptartftw 2015-09-14 20:47

Nice

jonathang 2015-09-14 21:20

It took me a while to figure out what the WASD keys were doing; I'd not thought of rotating the character in 90 degree steps!
You can do a lot in Unity in 8 hours!

wuballiance 2015-09-14 21:23

Solid entry! I love the terrain shaders/effects. The models are nice, too, although they don't really seem to match the overall style. For some reason the camera lagged behind the player and moved wayyy too slow for the player's speed. Otherwise fun game!

comicsans 2015-09-14 21:44

I didn't notice any edible pixels, but I did reach the goal. I liked the chasing baddies... reminded me of Serious Sam. A good step towards a game with possibilities.

Shadow 2015-09-14 21:50

It made me a bit dizzy, I have to admit. I think the camera was moving too slow.

Loved how the score acted as a timer that increased the challenge of reaching the next pixel/cube.

Controls felt good enough, although I'm not sure if "tank controls"(Resident Evil style) are the best choice for the genre.

You made a good choice with the music, and graphics were cute and surprisingly lovely for a game about monsters. It's amazing you managed to do this in only 8 hours. Congratulations!
