Oct 20 11:41:41 The Raven Sea 🚀 ♥ 1 From the music, to the lighting, to the lo-fi graphics… the atmosphere here is stunning! Loved the concept of the drawing board, but the buoy clues were so vague I didn’t end up using it much. (Also, it wasn’t mapped to "M" but "Γ–" on my Swedish keyboard?) Still managed to find all lost souls: screenshot1 (Telefon).png
Oct 20 12:02:46 21m 05s LIDEC β€œ4” ♥ 2 I’ve seen it before, but the "LIDAR vision" concept is so cool! Also really liked the audio (sound effects and subtle music). It’s amazing how much tension you build with just these few components! Played for a long time, but still only managed to find 3 of the generators before [REDACTED]. This has to be one of the biggest facilities in the world πŸ˜…
Oct 20 12:35:38 32m 52s Nova Blasterz ♥ 0 Loved this!! At first I thought you just got to build and play your own pinball. Then I pressed "Start day" and realized there was a whole other level of customer satisfaction, money earning etc. Mind blown 🀯 Although there's definitely strategy to designing the pinball, the game felt too easy towards the end. I didn't get the "Customer" and "Life" thing. Also, do the stickers do anything?
Oct 20 22:03:24 9h 27m Hic Sunt Elephanti ♥ 2 Well, that was certainly an experience! While the gameplay itself felt a little too simple, I still very much enjoyed the mood. Also loved how the surviving characters show up on the end screen 😊 screenshot2.png Just me and my gnome buddy, chillin' and watching the world flood
Oct 20 22:24:16 20m 52s Pager in the Dark ♥ 0 I think you forgot to include the .pck resource file in the Windows build, but I was able to get it to start by copying it in and renaming it from the macOS build. (I think the Linux build may have the same issue) I liked the idea and atmosphere, but couldn't figure out what to do. Is there a way to escape? If I stayed in the house nothing would happen and if I left I would be killed as soon as I got long enough away
Oct 20 22:53:15 28m 59s Anti Virus ♥ 0 Great use of the theme, super charming graphics and lots of neat details (like getting to manually power on the computer and being able to drag and manipulate the windows) – I like this little game a lot! My only complaint is that it's very short and that the gameplay feels a little simple
Oct 21 10:15:57 11h 22m Aliens borrowed my gameboy! ♥ 2 From the limited colors to the obscure solutions (fuse box puzzle), everything feels very time appropriate. And let's not forget the absolutely groovin' music! I did notice some issues, like items not disappearing from the inventory when used and Willie sometimes moving on his own when entering a new room, but those are minor nitpicks. Great job πŸ‘ For a single developer, you've accomplished a lot in 72 hours.
Oct 21 10:46:50 30m 53s Igknight II - The Last Stand ♥ 1 **Important message to all the wizards sniping me from the shadows: Come out and face me, you cowards!** Joking aside, I had a lot of fun playing this. The game has a great arcade-y feel. Eventually managed to clear wave 5 (after which it seemed no new enemies would spawn?) I get the impression you did everything yourself, from modelling and animation to music and even voice acting? If so, that is seriously impressive for 72 hours! πŸ‘
Oct 21 11:38:37 51m 47s Bauerhaus ♥ 1 SO much depth here! I played for over half an hour and it feels like I've barely scraped the surface. The upgrades, the mystery tape… I even saw in the source that there are multiple endings! This might be my favorite submission as well so far. I may come back and play more just for fun πŸ€“
Oct 22 14:16:07 26h 37m Terminal Stasis ♥ 1 Genuinely fun and an impressive feat for a single developer in 48 hours! The opening, with the pod opening up from 2D text on black background to a full 3D environment, was a great reveal. (Then again with the ending.) Maybe I was just lucky, but I didn't have any issue with the shield minigame. I wish I could say the same about the _propulsion_ minigame though πŸ˜… Edit: Oh, and the music is great as well!
Oct 22 15:03:11 47m 04s Stained Glass ♥ 1 Really chill – except for the times when people are dying uncontrollably πŸ˜… After a few attempts I was finally able to finish my cathedral in the year of the lord 21, with a population of 28: screenshot.png Two nitpicks on gameplay: 1. It would be nice with a pause button so you can pause and read the log. Things happen very very quickly, even on the slower speeds 2. Difficulty is kinda backwards. It starts of the hardest and gets progressively easier as your village grows and you research new technologies Overall, a fun sim! Good job πŸ‘
Oct 22 15:27:49 24m 38s Hunt And Nurture Growth ♥ 0 Sounds like a fun concept, but I had trouble understanding how to play. "E" brings up a guessing dialog, but even when I seem to guess a letter correctly it doesn’t tell me where in the word that letter fit. The 3D environments are beautiful, but what's the connection to the hangman game? Also, some of those words are just too difficult. I consider myself OK at English, but I have no idea what a "Cincture" or "Theodolite" is πŸ˜…
Oct 22 16:20:02 52m 13s j_catfixingcrap ♥ 0 Fun (and funny!) little game. Very stressful (especially the "Enter this code" minigame.) It took me some time to get a feel for the somewhat twitchy controls and double/wall-jumping, which also didn’t help. Still, I was able to beat it in the end: screenshot.png
Oct 23 14:08:55 21h 48m Pigeon Prompt Engineer ♥ 0 Wow! Probably the funniest, most creative submission I've played so far. Loved the art, music, premise and writing. My only complaint is that there's really only one part where you get to play yourself. Also, then ending came kinda abruptly. Other than that, top marks πŸ‘
Oct 23 22:32:18 8h 23m Like Clockwork ♥ 0 Well, this certainly gave my two brain cells a challenge! After more trial-and-error than I'm comfortable admitting, I was finally able to finish it: screenshot.png Even though the mechanics are simple, the gameplay is not. There's a lot to keep track of (direction, speed, placement) and the levels do a good job of exploring each. I had a strange bug occur to me where components started disappearing when placed (solved by restarting), but other than that I encountered no issues with the gears. Fun little puzzle game!
Oct 23 23:28:28 56m 10s FayOnline ♥ 1 That ending – wow. Didn't expect a virtual pet sim to tug at my heartstrings like that 😳 Really enjoyed this experience! The recreation of the era felt very faithful (both in tone and aesthetics). The puzzles were great (especially the "login" one), but perhaps the minigames could have used a bit more polish and challenge. Fun idea! Clear connection to the theme
Oct 24 00:05:25 36m 57s Zwillenschuss ♥ 1 A fun little distraction! I ended up playing for much longer than I though I would. Nice 3D environment and satisfying slingshot physics. Would have benefited greatly from a crosshair of some kind (I think)
Oct 24 23:03:37 22h 58m Not Yet Developed ♥ 0 Scary 😱 Great slow tension-building. Unfortunately the scares gets a little overused as the game goes on and some of the effect is lost. The screen warping ended up more annoying than anything else. Liked the photo development mechanic overall, but the ordering parts seemed kind of random to me. Maybe it was because I didn't get the story? In the end, I just brute-forced them. Was the monster supposed to chase me at the end? It seemed to get stuck for me
Oct 25 00:03:14 59m 37s Detritus Delver ♥ 2 One of my favorite submissions so far! From the unique vision and polished gameplay to the detailed pixel art and the atmospheric music – there's just so much to like here. Would've loved 1) a point system/similar to add replayability after you've beaten the game (or did I miss something?) and 2) some way to turn off the dialog on repeated playthroughs. Those are minor nitpick though. STRONG entry!
Oct 25 00:27:24 24m 10s Don't turn it off ♥ 0 Fun little game! Very simple but quite addicting. I agree that some more variation would've been nice. Also, maybe some easy-to-read visual indicators for time left and system integrity? Like bars or screen effects
Oct 25 01:31:46 1h 04m Press Any Key! ♥ 0 Very ambitious entry! Lots to discover and explore. Lovely art. I enjoyed the computer fixing minigames a lot. Didn't understand all systems though, like the "Exhaust" and "Savings". Either I'm missing something, or getting to the savings goal takes a looong time πŸ˜…
Oct 25 22:35:11 21h 03m Play In Case Of Death ♥ 0 Fun little "Escape Room" type game! Impressive level of polish. The old tech felt solidly implemented and intuitive to use. Strong connection to theme. The sound deserves special mention πŸ‘ I enjoyed the time-appropriate music and voice-acting
Oct 25 23:01:12 26m 01s Smash to Begin ♥ 0 Personal best: 106 Solid implementation of a simple concept. Great game-feel overall. The "flat 3D" look is cool, but I think aiming would've benefited from some depth to the targets. Also, the connection to the theme could be stronger.
Oct 25 23:16:07 14m 55s Old Claw Machine ♥ 0 First time I've actually won something on one of these machines πŸ˜… Good physics, sometimes a bit laggy. Fun on-theme prices! Gameplay could have used some more polish. (I also encountered the bug where the claw turns into a Y.) screenshot.png
Oct 26 10:15:19 10h 59m To the Coast ♥ 1 A beautiful experience and an important reminder of what games can be. Inspiring! Especially loved the premise, the world building and voice acting. A minor nitpick, but it seemed that no matter how long or short your journey was in a day, you would always arrive at night. Also, when the sun set it got _really_ dark!
Oct 26 10:59:53 44m 34s Installation Wizard ♥ 2 This was tough as nails for my tiny brain, but I'm proud to present my certificate of completion: screenshot.png Overall very cohesive and polished entry! Lots of humor sprinkled throughout (sounds, messages etc.)
Oct 26 14:12:08 3h 12m Mixtape Maker ♥ 1 I had a lot of fun recording and listening back to mixes. Actually wish the tapes were a bit longer. Very intuitive controls. The static made me laugh πŸ˜‚ Awesome little game!
Oct 26 15:25:20 1h 13m Decom Protocol ♥ 4 Playthrough #1 I got the "evil" ending. Playthrough #2 I wanted to see if there was a "good" ending. I got the "choke it with plutonium" message, but then didn't get any plutonium scrap before the game ended. Maybe I was just unlucky? Anyway, loved the mood! Also loved the little details that change around the environment. Well made entry!
Oct 26 15:45:04 19m 44s Blokia Designer ♥ 2 Incredibly impressive how much you've been able to accomplish in 72 hours! This is basically a full-fledged game.
Oct 26 16:34:45 49m 41s Thread by Thread ♥ 1 Original idea and take of the theme. Simple but fun gameplay. High level of polish. Either I just suck or the game is kind of difficult. Didn't manage to complete day 2 😳 Edit: Beat day 2! New personal best: 1366
Oct 27 11:04:04 18h 29m Hold, Please! ♥ 2 Personal best: 2663 I had to check out your switchboard game as well. Your's is more focused on the call switching itself and feels more polished as a result. I liked how new people were introduced to the registry by calling in to the switchboard. There are some funny calls in there πŸ˜‚ The UI was very clear and the gameplay easy to grasp. My only nitpick is that the dialogue would sometimes obscure the label and timer of the port above it. Also, the plug spazzed out for me sometimes when dragging the cable between ports. Great game jam entry!
