Very atmospheric game
Really cool entry! I loved the concept and the overall mood youāve created here. The controls felt responsive and the gameplay was super engaging for a jam project. Left full ratings! If you have a few minutes, weād love for you to check out our game Meow Bomb! š±š£ The official LD page has our jam release, but I also assembled an alternative updated build with fixes and a working PC: https://naiper.itch.io/meow-bomb-by-naiper
Cheers!
The atmosphere is terrifying, the idea is very great, it reminds me a little to Fears To Fathom games.I always had the sense that I'd be jumpscared at any moment, you did a very nice job!
Amazing atmosphere! The jumpscare when I opened the door at the start really got me!
Also, a quick bug report: the stairwell seems to be missing collision, so I guess I get to be Harry Potter here!
@serendipityyyy Thank you. @nursultan Thanks for the feedback! The pixel-style models and visual effects in your game are really impressive too! It's a shame that the version you initially uploaded wasn't complete, but what you've made is genuinely amazing! @kredit Exactly! I took inspiration from that game too! I even used a similar UI layout for the phone, especially the one in the first game.
Nice short enjoyable game. First time through I had no problems, had a bunch of the medicine so it was no issue. Almost did a no medicine run as well, but got caught when trying to get the last set of photos to the box. The photo ordering seemed like the weakest point. Was more like a guessing game rather than putting clues together. Was also hampered by the fact that I couldn't have the lights on while arranging them. The wobbly screen effect was also a bit much sometimes. Also nice touch having some of the photos change as your sanity gets lower.
@unpronounceable You're right! The logic behind the photos really wasn't clear enough. Other players have run into the same issue too. We'll be better next time.
@tinglight OMGļ¼it's true. We really didn't notice that. Thanks for the heads-up!
I got too scared so I didnāt go all the way :D
Really cool concept! :D I love the creativity behind the idea, and it's always nice to see something a little different in a game jam!
Overall, a nice little entry for Ludum Dare 60! Great work! :D
more people need to see this game oh boy i was shaking in my boots so hard while playing i cant believe u made all this in just 72 hours guys thats really impressive i really love the vibe of the game and nice tension u got going on there great job
I unfortunately can't play/review this game, the tooltips/messages/text are broken on Linux/WINE: Screenshot_20261022_112535.png Screenshot_20261022_112738.png
Awesome entry, lulls you into a rhythm with the methodical developing and the smacks you with some jump scares. Super spooky mood watching the photo images pop into view. I was certainly freaked out hearing the steps occasionally, and loved the mechanic of having to open the darkroom door after developing photos and wondering what will be outside. With more time I'd love to see this fleshed out into a mystery game with a distinct relationship between the horrors and the photos. Nice job!
Ahhh, I was sold the moment I read the description! But Iām a total chicken when it comes to horror games, so I got someone else to play while I hid behind them and watched the whole thing. The darkroom setting works so well for horror. You nailed it! Iād love a mode where I could just develop photos without the scares, but thatās the scaredy-cat in me talking, haha.
Damn, that's almost an Steam-released indie horror quality game. Nice atmosphere, sounds and solid graphics. Puzzles were almost not hard, girl one had solution on the wall, family one is fairly easy, and boy puzzle needed a bit of shuffling but overall I completed game in first time without going below half of the state of mind. Good job. Also, staircase steps sound is scary coz it sounds like there's someone else running on a floor lol. P.S. played it second time on low state of mind; corpse paint photos are really cool, but constant screen warping is somewhat annoying. Also I had light turned off in my room and corridor, so instead of end screamer I got black screen and phone lol.
@lone-wolf Hi! We've released the Linux version of the game! You can now visit the link to download, and play the Linux version.
Great game, cool concept. This is my first time at jam, and this is the first game I have seen here I am impressed by how cool a project can be created in such a short amount of time. Aside from some issues with collisions on the stairs there is nothing to complain about. Fantastic work!
This cool game
Linux build works! Playing it now. I unfortunately hard-locked myself when fiddling with the window (ingame, in the darkroom), so I have to restart: Screenshot_20261024_110039.png
I am not a friend of horror games anyways and the random steps were too much D: Awesome vibes you have managed to create!
I couldn't reply to messages unless I spam-clicked the reply button, which resulted in a reply being auto-selected most of the time, I assume the choices were meaningless though.
Neat game, I hardly ever play horror games and prefer cerebral horror more, but this one seems pretty well done, minus the to-be-expected gamejam bugs here and there. Nice work! Thanks for making me a Linux build
Scary š± Great slow tension-building. Unfortunately the scares gets a little overused as the game goes on and some of the effect is lost. The screen warping ended up more annoying than anything else.
Liked the photo development mechanic overall, but the ordering parts seemed kind of random to me. Maybe it was because I didn't get the story? In the end, I just brute-forced them.
Was the monster supposed to chase me at the end? It seemed to get stuck for me
@lone-wolf Iām sorry that didnāt have time to test the Linux build properly before releasing it, so there may still be some bugs. Thank you so much for your patience and for playing the game all the way through. I really appreciate it!
@the-big-lost Thank you so much for your feedback! Itās really valuable to me, especially your thoughts on the images and the placement of the jump scares. Iāll keep your suggestions in mind and rethink how I approach those elements in my next game.
