| Oct 6 06:40:04 | Petals | ♥ 2 | The Zen mode is definitely the way to go. If you were to add some kind of "timer" for this, I think it could be tied to placing flowers. Really solid sound design, and animations for blooming flowers are very satisfying. | |
| Oct 6 06:44:35 | 4m 31s | Predincament | ♥ 1 | Very cute! I can clearly tell that there was probably more planned than we see here - but that's the nature of jams, and especially Compo! My favorite thing was just to talk to passengers. I love how many different responses they do have! |
| Oct 6 06:48:46 | 4m 11s | Attic Thrifter | ♥ 1 | While it is pretty much a Sokoban, I really liked the addition of enemies that attack your valuables. Shows how a simple mechanic like that can create a whole new dynamic on the genre. Would have happily played even more. The difficulty curve probably could use some work - especially for players who are not good or used to puzzle games. But that is easy to work on after the jam! |
| Oct 6 06:53:49 | 5m 03s | Mid-Sized Monsters | ♥ 2 | The art combined with the perspective is somehow satisfying. Reminds be of Octopath Traveller. There is a lot to like here. Quite a feat to get this done for a Compo! |
| Oct 6 08:25:07 | 1h 31m | Night of the Acorn Hunt | ♥ 1 | I liked the fact that crows only started moving when an acorn spawned. I found myself spotting new acorns that way - so it was quite clever addition! Fun little game! |
| Oct 6 08:30:51 | 5m 44s | Patch-flip Scout Camp | ♥ 1 | I absolutely adore the art and animations! The satisfying sound of clicking coins is just delightful. I also really appreciate the cute little “boiling lines” effect you’ve added. As for the game itself, it’s a blast for a while. It’s got some clever strategy elements that keep me engaged, and I can totally see this becoming a really interesting game if you expand on the concept. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to run full screen to fully appreciate the adorable art. Hopefully, you’ll fix that soon! |
| Oct 6 09:30:27 | 59m 36s | Loaded Dice | ♥ 1 | Wow, this game is really cool! The art and sound effects are amazing, especially the cool color palette you chose. There are some really cool card combos you can do. The ability to see your “dice queue” is great for planning ahead. Sometimes it was a bit tricky to see when an active effect was triggered. Maybe a bit more visual polish could make all interactions clearer. I was occasionally left wondering if the active effect even worked at all. But overall, this is a solid package for a Compo entry! |
| Oct 6 09:35:51 | 5m 24s | Key Master | ♥ 2 | This game is a real gem! At first, it seemed super easy. But once you figure out where all the cards are, you might think it’ll get boring fast. But here’s the thing: you have to collect cards in a specific order, and you can’t jump. So, it sometimes creates these fun little “puzzles” (if you can call them that). I loved the cool screen effects and the wobbly camera, but I got a bit queasy after playing for a while. I wish there was a way to turn down the camera movement a bit. But overall, this is a solid Compo entry! |
| Oct 6 09:38:26 | 2m 35s | Virus singularity [Mega Drive] | ♥ 3 | Wow, I didn’t expect to find a Mega Drive game here! Unfortunately, I probably won’t have time to set up an emulator to test it out, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind for when I do. I just wanted to leave a comment and say that I really appreciate the passion for old systems! |
| Oct 6 09:43:39 | 5m 13s | Star Reaper | ♥ 2 | Wow, these visuals are amazing! I absolutely love how the explosions are so satisfying. However, the lack of movement in the background makes it a bit tricky to tell if the ship is moving or not. Also, it was a bit challenging to find asteroids at times - I would have loved to see more of them! Overall, this is a really solid and visually stunning Compo entry! |
| Oct 6 10:16:46 | 33m 07s | Stamp Collector | ♥ 2 | Hey there! This was a really fun one! I also learned a few cool things about stamp collecting (I hope this is at least somewhat accurate). It was interesting to find out that you could wash the stamp too much and ruin its quality. That really made me feel like I was actually collecting stamps and loving my collection. Organizing the desk was a bit of a challenge. I ended up just throwing the cut-out postcards outside the screen, but now I don’t know where the stamp was originally from. It would have been great if you could have stacked them together to keep them organized. Lastly, I think there was enough original artwork that you could have chosen to opt in for graphics. I know, rules are rules, but the stamp art really isn’t a big part of the game in my opinion. Overall, it was a great entry. I had a lot of fun! |
| Oct 6 11:14:34 | 57m 48s | Collector's Curse | ♥ 1 | The music totally blew me away! It’s an awesome soundtrack for a jam game! I especially loved how everything comes together. The game is simple, but the art style, sounds, and the overall vibe just vibe perfectly. This is a really solid Compo entry! |
| Oct 6 11:19:28 | 4m 54s | Crane World | ♥ 1 | I’m requesting a refund because the sofa didn’t stay in the claw! This game really captures the addictive fun of claw machines. Some objects are super tricky to get inside the claw, but that’s part of the excitement! I noticed a clever (re-)use of your assets in the menu. That’s the ultimate way to make the most of your time! This is a really solid Compo entry! |
| Oct 6 11:57:58 | 38m 30s | Pumpkin Bumpkin | ♥ 2 | This little game is a solid contender for a Compo entry, with a decent amount of content. However, it’s a bit too tough for my taste. It’s not just about the number of things that kill you; it’s the sheer size of the levels compared to your character’s speed. In most levels, you spend most of your time either walking or climbing ladders. When you die, you have to do that again. And that gets tedious pretty quickly. Overall, it’s a great game, but with a few tweaks to the move speed and level size, I think it could be even better! |
| Oct 6 12:09:09 | 11m 11s | Sewernir | ♥ 2 | I really enjoyed the in-game instructions and how they were implemented. The dialogue was also cool for the mood and story, but it might have been a bit too much (for a jam game). It’s usually best to get the player into action as soon as possible. I was a bit confused about the mechanics at first. It can be tough to understand games that are quirky and don’t have a clear reference point in real life. But once I got it, I think it works pretty well. It might be a bit repetitive, but obviously you can’t expand on the idea fully during a jam (especially during a Compo). Overall, it’s a solid entry. Bonus points for all the extra things like the dialogue and tutorial. |
| Oct 6 12:14:06 | 4m 57s | Boarder | ♥ 2 | Oh my gosh, those boars are so adorable! And your theme interpretation is really cool. The only thing that bugged me was the quirky tree hitboxes. It felt a bit strange that you couldn’t walk behind the leafy part of the tree. Sometimes mushrooms would drop inside the tree, and it was impossible to collect them. But overall, it’s a really cute and solid jam entry! |
| Oct 6 12:21:05 | 6m 59s | snake-collector | ♥ 1 | The 3D was a total surprise! I initially thought it was just a regular snake with a different view, but who would’ve guessed it was a whole new perspective! :) Some of the powers I didn’t quite get either or they didn’t seem to do anything. But maybe it was just me - it’s tough to make sure everything is easy to understand in a jam game! Overall, it was a solid entry. And bonus pointssss for the pun in the menu! |
| Oct 6 12:27:31 | 6m 26s | Collecting Dust | ♥ 1 | Wow, your interpretation of the theme is really cool, and your writing is super engaging! The art is also adorable and well-done - it gives me a nostalgic feel like some old DOS games. Starting from level 3, it starts to feel a bit unpredictable. I found myself trying to arrange everything into corners and hoping for the best. There probably would be potential to turn this into a solid puzzle game with more time with level design. But hey, it’s still one of my favorite entries so far! |
| Oct 6 12:40:03 | 12m 32s | Gamedud | ♥ 1 | The mini game concept is a nice spin of the theme! Art style and music gave a nice nostalgia trip - maybe someone could say the art style is not derivate enough though (?). Fun nevertheless! |
| Oct 6 13:27:25 | 47m 22s | Astro Gourmet | ♥ 4 | Wow, that was some wild mayhem! The graphics and UI design were super sleek and visually appealing. However, it’s a bit challenging to to find time to learn what abilities actually do. It’s easier to just keep playing and let the abilities work for you. Maybe some adjustments to the flow could be made, where you have a moment to check out your abilities. Overall, it’s a really solid jam entry! |
| Oct 6 13:35:10 | 7m 45s | Dragon Hoard | ♥ 1 | Dragons are the ultimate collectors, who would’ve thought? The best part of this game is how the hoard spreads out wave by wave, making it harder and harder to get your stuff back. I wish there was a way to make it easier to try and collect everything back - now it’s a bit of a pain to push the coins back to the center. But overall, it’s a cute little game! |
| Oct 6 16:56:24 | 3h 21m | GHARK - Soul Collector | ♥ 0 | Visual quality superb. Audio quality superb. Very polished! The base of the game was fun, very Slay the Spire -esque. The base deck is very powerful though. It has so few cards that the variance is non-existent. You can basically do same combos (stun into energy boost) every fight, and finish the opponent with high damage cards. So some balancing would be needed on that front. But still overall, a very solid entry - especially audio visually! |
| Oct 6 18:32:25 | 1h 36m | HUNTBORN | ♥ 1 | Capture.PNG These Vampire Survivor -esque games are always fun! The crafting system was a good addition. However, I need to say that as my favorite part of the game was to gather resources, there was very little of that in the game. Waves felt way too long with no resources to gather in between. And then you may get only 1 tree or rock per wave, which felt dull. I would much rather gather a lot more resources - even if it meant that resource costs were higher. Now it felt I was not able to complete my "dream build" due to never getting enough resources to do that. If crafting is what players want, let them do it, and just make the game around it scale harder. But I spent a good amount of time with this. It probably means it is at least an ok game! Good work! |
| Oct 6 20:17:49 | 1h 45m | WebWeaver | ♥ 3 | A very solid package! Some cool gameplay, art is cool, and music (selection) was great! I'm not sure if I understood how the game worked. Flies always get stuck to the first web they reach. It seems largely random whether they stick on the web or not. Please tell me if there was something I did not understand, and I will happily try the game again! I enjoyed my moments building some webs though! |
| Oct 6 20:21:30 | 3m 41s | Glow Hunt | ♥ 1 | I really liked the mood of this game. The music combined with walking in a peaceful Japanese-style garden - *chef's kiss*. Also really neat art and animations for a jam game! The game itself is of course simple but it kept me hooked for a night. 31 was my score! |
| Oct 6 20:27:28 | 5m 58s | The A?! game | ♥ 2 | There are games that take themselves a bit too seriously.. and then there are games that don't. :) Aside from all the memes, you kept me hooked. Just wanting to see what extravaganza would happen next. I give this one, AAA! |
| Oct 6 21:00:01 | 32m 33s | Lil'Jones 2: The Collector's Tomb | ♥ 2 | Inventory management is always fun! I think the game kicks off only at level 2. The level 1 inventory feels too restricting and it takes a while to get enough money to go to level 2. Also, I found it weird that you cannot remove items from your inventory or at least move them. Part of the fun of inventory management is playing that Tetris over and over again when you find something new. But overall, a solid entry. With some polish and more development time, it could be a gem! |
