Oct 8 17:41:38 Protect The Ant Queen! ♥ 0 Very cool! Surprising you were able to get mechanics of this complexity up and running for a jam game - pathing, unit selection, and everything! Like the mechanic of having to send in your workers first, then using the queen to finish the job. Couldn't get too far with the limited apples - but a great concept nonetheless. Nice!
Oct 8 17:53:27 11m 49s Insect Racing League ♥ 2 Awesome game!! Had an absolute blast the whole time I was playing - the polish here is incredible: juicy sfx, the perfect use of the guiding line and re-orientation arrow if you get lost, the translucency of the character, the world-record ghost - everything. This game feels far too well honed for a jam game - especially one with a multiplayer element. Goes to show that a good application of the theme can really stretch this simple asset pack into several gorgeous arenas. Also - the 'cm/s' gave me a good chuckle. This game reminds me of a childhood hot-wheels game... Good warm fuzzy feelings - loved it!
Oct 8 18:01:12 7m 45s Divine Intern ♥ 3 Very fun! Love the concept - and had a great little time presiding over my tiny failing planet haha. Would love to see this idea fleshed out more, with the little creatures responding in more ways - but of course, this was plenty to work on for a jam game. Well done!
Oct 8 18:10:40 9m 28s Awakened from Stardust ♥ 2 Very cool! The art is wonderful, the sfx are charming, the writing is hilarious, and I loved the idea of a 'bullet hell' game where you are juggling 4 characters. Very glad you made the 'attacking' automatic (as otherwise it would've been too much) - but it still felt tense and engaging. However, I was not able to tell where all damage was coming from, so I couldn't beat the last boss (and when everyone dies, the game seems to just wait around, no retry option) - but I was happy to try several times, just to get to see the awesome boss art again! They would make for awesome tattoos! Well done!
Oct 8 18:16:31 5m 51s Supply and Command ♥ 2 Wow! Great work getting a fully functional RTS working! Took a while to get used to unit select/deselect without an indicator - but once I did, I had fun amassing my worker horde, getting a little unit squad together, and crushing the enemy. Great work!
Oct 8 18:21:07 4m 36s Neckmeat's Tiny Adventure ♥ 1 Hah! What an interesting game! Loved the weird rigging and animation on my little character - very much dig the strange vibes. Great work!
Oct 8 18:26:16 5m 09s Ants! ♥ 2 Very cool! What a fun, cute game. I actually loved the little strategy of staying fast, but in a vulnerable straight line, or spiraling around to make an easier-to-manage cluster. Also, the moment where you zoom out to walk on the grass is very cool. Reminded me of katamari - great work!
Oct 8 19:13:09 46m 53s Death to the Right Paw ♥ 2 Fantastic! Absolutely knocked it out of the park - my favorite game so far. I played it on and on and on until I green-lit every level. Finding the perfect combination to just barley squeeze through every level was so rewarding, and the absolute shredding you do at the end with endless turrets was cathartic and thrilling. The first moment you accidentally make a flame-turret, then watch it decimate the kitties - chef's kiss! Amazing work - you should all be very proud
Oct 9 20:30:42 25h 17m Innocenties Beasties ♥ 1 Very fun! Such a cute little idea. I loved each and every design, and it was nice how you could tell cutie from baddie mostly from the warm/light vs cool/gray color palette alone. The screen filling with critters and mews and 'blehg's made me chuckle. Excellent work!
Oct 9 20:49:41 18m 59s Lucky Lefty Loves Lofty Little Lodges ♥ 1 What a wonderful game! I loved so much about it - the cohesive nature of building shelter over existing buildings - but then those platforms are wrenched harder when the snail tilts. The different weather provides unique challenges, but often, strategies that are successful for one will be sufficient for multiple, so you never feel like you are 'wasting' points. The visuals were charming and the scenarios is quite evocative - I found it very meditative to play (much assisted by the wonderful music choice). Excellent work!
Oct 9 20:55:27 5m 46s An Itsy Bitsy RPG ♥ 1 What a wonderful idea! Ingenious - and very engaging. I love that escaped flies destroy their section of web, so there is some 'risk' to simply creating a massive web and trying to catch everything. The silk placement was thoroughly enjoyable, and although there were some tiny navigation bugs (as all jam games have - also, pun unintended lol) - this is one of my favorite entries, so innovative. Excellent work!
Oct 9 21:05:59 10m 32s Medic Mayhem++ ♥ 1 Amazing! What a hilarious game - I had an absolute blast. The driving was satisfyingly - but surprisingly tight. The obstacles were fun and silly - but also a bit tactical, as you could ram them into a better position for yourself (or a worse position for the enemy!). Even interacting with the 'battle' was hilarious - as hurting your own men (by scattering their forces) might make for an quicker and easier drive back to the infirmary! There are so many wonderful mechanics on display here - recovering the 'dropped' troops vs sticking near the 'frontlines', the adorable way they jump to advance, the 'veteran' system for troops - its all so detailed! How is there this much polish?? Team color selection? Map obstacle settings? Different team makeup? SEVERAL MAPS?? Yall have outdone yourselves! Top marks! Amazing work!
Oct 9 22:16:17 1h 10m Tiny Hawk Pro-Skater ♥ 4 Amazing work! The title is hilarious, and as a long time Tony Hawk game fan - this really hit the spot! Each level was like a tiny puzzle trying to figure out the best route to nab collectables by any means, then switching to hunting for the best 'flow' cycle, where you could build speed, pull off tricks, and get to escape-velocity. The audio tracks were hilarious and touching, the art was adorable, and I was so glad that you stuck with the 'radical' style of the early games - wacky science tubes, a space level - I loved it. A really wonderful balance of reflexes and route-solving. I love Tiny Hawk!
Oct 9 22:29:07 12m 50s Fight of the Forest ♥ 1 Awesome game! Loved the innovative tweak on tower defense, and it really allowed me to think quite hard about tower placement, in a totally different way than any other I've played. Was fun to watch my colony grow, and forced the player to play more 'near the end' of the trail - which leads to some excellent nail-biting finishers. Well done!
Oct 9 22:46:39 17m 32s Chanterune ♥ 5 This game is BURSTING with masterful design. The entire experience was so lovely, down to each detail - the echo that plays after I do, the notes from sequential bounces on the mushies, the first moment you light up a room, the realization that mushies can protect you from above - oh my god, what a fantastic little game. Every sprite is beautifully rendered, and the focus on strong silhouettes, a pleasing color palette, and bucolic theme made for mouthwatering visuals. The challenge was spot on, and I gasped with glee when we got to do a boss fight, combining all previous mechanics! As a lover of Majoras Mask, this absolutely warmed my heart. Hats off to each and every one of you involved in the process, masterful work!
Oct 10 02:44:28 3h 57m The Little Life ♥ 2 What a fantastically beautiful game! The art is really inspired - I just adored looking at it! Both times I played I got a similar result to @risminator - had good balance and some upgraded areas, but perhaps not enough? Either way - I really enjoyed my time with this game - the concept is fantastic and the visuals deeply pleasing. Great work!
Oct 11 00:04:58 21h 20m Gustave in Paris ♥ 2 What an amazing little game! The art and audio were so evocative, I could practically smell the bread baking in our little cozy hole-in-the-wall! I'm shocked you have, essentially, a full game loop here - and I absolutely loved getting to view all the wonderful character art. There are some really nice mechanical touches as well - the length of the throw means you can really strategize how to collect ingredients from outside BUT has a double-edged sword of never being able to fully organize (which is fun). The power outages were a great twist, and I'd love to see what new mechanics you would layer on next! Excellent work!
Oct 18 15:42:47 183h 37m Human Body Fighter ♥ 0 Ah - itch link is 404, might have to set to 'public'?
Oct 18 15:55:15 12m 28s Creative Types ♥ 3 What an adorable game! I absolutely loved it - something so bizarrely satisfying about moving these lil guys around my keyboard - i adore games that can give us a new perspective on something we are so used to. I can already tell I am going to be thinking about this every time I sit down to do game dev in the future. The art, sound, and story perfectly complemented the vibes. A great excuse to sit down and plunk away at my lovely keyboard which I so often forget. So cool! Great idea, well done. Screenshot 2024-10-18 115213.png
Oct 18 15:59:19 4m 04s Fearless for Fears ♥ 1 Very nicely done! An ambitious first title to replicate some of the mmo/moba behavior, but good job keeping the scope small with the single boss. Had fun, and loved seeing all the art.
Oct 18 16:05:11 5m 52s Flea or Flee Arcade ♥ 0 Funny! I like the idea of giant mutated fleas, the sfx were silly and fun. Agree with others on the bg and whatnot - but good job flexing your python skills and creating a fun little game!
Oct 18 16:16:23 11m 12s Ducks on the Road ♥ 1 Haha this was actually super cute and funny. I love that you actually paid special attention to making the herding interesting - the fact that the mother's radius is different than the ducklings, that they have a turn rate, etc - actually makes for some interesting mechanics. Plus, because the ducks were largely the same each round, you could start to 'plan a route' - using the food and your movements to puzzle out an optimal solution. I lost a few ducks to the tail 'unwinding' as they speed up - which I don't actually mind, as it creates an interesting scenario where you have to 'clear their runway' when sending the mother off to the road, as the ducklings will 'fan out' a bit when running behind. The little quack and splash of them falling through the grate never got old, and the art and sounds were adorable. Loved every level!
Oct 18 16:39:51 23m 28s Let's Go to the Magical Frog Party in the Dark Forest! ♥ 1 I loved this one! Such a slick, well built deck builder. Something about the dark, almost retro UI with the adorable frog illustrations really sold it for me. I built a lean, mean deck full of vikings and assassins, and trimmed any and all fat. Plus, had a nice celebration going with music and singing and party frogs getting on the dance floor. Enjoyed every second of it. Great entry!
Oct 18 16:55:00 15m 09s Moldable Monster of Mine ♥ 1 Very fun! What an interesting concept - once I got the hang of it, it was very satisfying to reconfigure my little guy, plug up gaps, and plan out my next shotgun attack. The art style is totally unique, and the colors vivid and pleasant. Great work!
Oct 18 17:02:38 7m 38s Cute Cunies ♥ 1 Very cute art! And lovely music. I think the herding could've been tweaked a bit more - hard to have control if the cuties move faster than you, and will occasionally run underneath you. The 'maze' level demonstrates these difficulties well. Surprising amount of levels and mechanics for a jam game! I loved the animation of the food breaking and spilling out. Good stuff!
Oct 18 17:14:06 11m 28s Cheese It! ♥ 2 Woah! What an interesting game! The 2d/3d perspective here is absolutely enchanting, not to mention the beautiful sprites and models. Very fun and frantic running around and discovering the special cheese abilities. There might be one or two mechanics I missed - but really enjoyed my time with this gorgeous game. Well done!
Oct 18 17:25:35 11m 29s Bactoria ♥ 3 Astounding art and theme! The gameplay was quick, satisfying, and unique - I loved the 'microscope pov' acting as a 'fog of war'. CAn't gush enough about this art - the gorgeously rendered cards, the snappy and evocative animation on the bases - even the main menu! That title font? *chefs kiss!* The swarm mechanic was super cool - and so gratifying to watch them race off together to efficiently surround a food source, or overwhelm the enemy. Really felt like you were watching what we all 'want' microscope slides to contain! Really excellent work everyone, you should be proud! Finally got to live my dream of collecting amino acids with my lil flagellates defending the ECM!
Oct 18 17:27:57 2m 22s Ant Ascent: journey to the top ♥ 2 Cool game! A few bugs, but still cool to see nonetheless. I really like the character art! Good stuff
Oct 18 17:35:44 7m 47s fishbone ♥ 2 What a beautiful and totally unique art style! Loved how my 'bones' billowed and flowed, and how they later came to represent health. Good amount of challenge, and I loved exploring this strange and dark world. The audio was great - especially the throbbing, ominous home-base - and the threatening patter of enemy footsteps. Very cool entry!
