| Apr 22 23:40:00 | Keep the Party Alive! (Solo project) | ♥ 2 | @alexander-crane Loved it! Great music, and those animations are absolutely hilarious! I may have found a bug where one lady wouldn't take the pizza I brought her that she seemed to be asking for, but it wasn't hard to find someone else who was interested ;) Would definitely play more if you continued to work on it! | |
| Apr 22 23:52:13 | 12m 13s | Pupper Truckers | ♥ 2 | Great art and sound, you guys are always so good at that! And I'm a sucker for the wasteland theme, so I loved seeing that and all the upgrades for your rig! The only feature request I have would be an easier way to move across the screen, as I got my rig upgraded it became pretty tricky to get to the other side of the road. Maybe you can hop on your rig and either ride it for awhile or hop off in a direction? Anyways, I dig it! |
| Apr 23 00:12:00 | 19m 47s | Charge it! | ♥ 3 | Cool idea and take on the theme, but I found it really hard to play. It took me a few tries to find the first outlet and charge the phone, but then I couldn't figure out how to progress past the second room, even though I had a key in my inventory. I did really appreciate being able to hide under the table, seeing the player's glowing eyes under it was pretty great. Like others have said, with a bit more polish I think this could be really fun, it's a clever idea! |
| Apr 23 00:25:53 | 13m 53s | Mutiny | ♥ 1 | Fun idea! Definitely would benefit from sound, but I totally understand running out of time and not being able to get everything in there. Even without music or sfx, I still had a good time playing! It was pretty satisfying making them walk the plank when I was feeling murdery, haha, and I enjoyed trying to balance who worked where and for how long. If you keep working on it, I'd suggest incorporating the tutorial into the game itself instead of having it be a separate section. I think it would help ease people into the UI and learn how to best manage their pirates. Anyway, I hope you all keep updating it! |
| Apr 24 02:49:39 | 26h 23m | Save The Fish | ♥ 1 | Wow this was fun! Rotating felt goofy but "right", it reminded me of other challenging physics games. Amazing graphics, probably the best I've seen yet! I'd love to see more levels if you keep working on it, like running through an office or a factory. |
| Apr 24 02:57:45 | 8m 06s | Leap Of Faith | ♥ 1 | I had a lot of fun with this! The only trouble I had was with grabbing the fish to get the pull back, seemed like maybe the hitbox was small and/or the fish couldn't already be moving. That aside, I really enjoyed this, especially the little details like the toilet or how the music only played when you were outside. Charming game! |
| Apr 24 03:12:57 | 15m 12s | Laser Evaders | ♥ 1 | Cool idea, but I also had a hard time with the controls, felt like some gimbal lock was happening. The only thing holding it back are those rotations. I really like the minimalist style and appreciated the that I could quickly and easily load back without losing any progress. Nice work and interesting take on the theme! |
| Apr 24 03:19:09 | 6m 12s | Vestige | ♥ 1 | This is great! Wonderfully simple and unique idea, and the story and UI felt remarkably polished for a jam game. I played the itch.io webplayer version, and for some reason it wasn't capturing my keyboard, so when I tried hitting spacebar to attack (muscle memory, my bad) the page scrolled way down the screen. Aside from that one nitpick I was really impressed. Nice job! |
| Apr 24 03:32:21 | 13m 12s | Space Exodus | ♥ 2 | The more I think about this the more I like it. I got pretty stuck at first because it took me way to long to realize the while I could hear the game, my speakers were too quiet and I couldn't find any other planets. Once I cranked up the volume it all was great! The controls felt good, the music and art were super cute, and it's a pretty cool concept. Nice work! |
| Apr 24 03:57:43 | 25m 22s | Keep the Dream Alive! | ♥ 1 | That was so much fun! The music, art, and writing really helped set the mood, and I thought the difficulty was just right. It felt really rewarding to get whammies, especially the heater. I'd love to see a version with another stage, like you go to the outfield and have to catch or something. Anyway, lots of potential with this game, great work! |
| Apr 24 04:18:26 | 20m 43s | Keep It Alive top-down shooter | ♥ 1 | Fun idea having your health be your ammo! I like bullet hells, and that's a pretty solid one! I'd love to see more abilities if you work on the game more, maybe something like a dash to make you feel a bit zippier. Really good job, it's fun and well executed! |
| Apr 24 12:37:25 | 8h 18m | Headbutt | ♥ 1 | Cool idea! I did have a hard time learning how to effectively headbutt the ball (distance vs timing), but I dig the concept and it's always nice to play a good, finished compo game. Congrats and good work! |
| Apr 25 00:06:25 | 11h 29m | Inverted Dungeon Crawler | ♥ 2 | Love the idea of an inverted dungeon crawler! The dungeon graphics were impressive and I really liked the music, too. The biggest new feature I wanted was a way to move things after I'd placed them, and I agree with what others have said about how fleshing out the UI would help show how the hero was doing against the dungeon. I hope you keep working on it! |
| Apr 25 00:12:37 | 6m 12s | Spoon | ♥ 1 | Loved the art and music, and the jumping actually felt pretty good (which can be really hard to get right)! I did hope to have a bit more to the gameplay than jumping obstacles, but in jam games I also think it's important to get the foundations down, which you did. Nice work! |
| Apr 25 00:24:25 | 11m 48s | Keep It Undead | ♥ 2 | I absolutely loved the graphics! The art reminded me a lot of Hidden Folks. Also, very cool concept with transmitting the zombie disease through each level, it really felt like a puzzle I had to solve, which was refreshing. Very impressive! |
| Apr 25 00:34:51 | 10m 26s | Haywire | ♥ 1 | This was excellent! I love the art and sound, straightforward gameplay, and all very well executed. This is a solid game! I don't think I was very good at figuring out how to manage my power very well though, maybe a bit more color in the UI to indicate hot, cold, and fine would help. That said, really job and I hope you continue to work on it! |
| Apr 25 00:44:34 | 9m 43s | Paradigm | ♥ 1 | Interesting idea, and I've always liked isometric and minimalist games! Well executed, the controls felt just right (I think it would've been easy to accidentally make them feel backwards since you're orbiting something and jumping back and forth). I was really proud of myself for catching a couple asteroid by warping to the other side! I did feel like the powerups didn't hang around for very long, I think one of them disappeared before I was able to use it. Perhaps if they broke on use instead of timing out they would feel a bit more meaningful. Overall, well done! |
| Apr 25 00:58:10 | 13m 36s | Elevator Orator | ♥ 1 | I also had a hard time figuring out exactly how to build words that worked with the level, but aside from that I really enjoyed it! I thought it was a unique idea, the graphics and music fit it perfectly, and honestly I think the only thing that I would add is a tutorial level so people can interact with the rules before truly being thrown into the full game. |
| Apr 25 01:06:42 | 8m 32s | Kaze No Kami | ♥ 0 | This was such a lovely, mellow game! Nice and subtle, and it felt like the movement of the fire was right. If you're looking for other mechanics to test out, maybe try something with more elements? Seems like something with wind, fire, water, and rock could be a lot of fun to explore, with one level focused on each element while the others interact with or even combat it (like how water does with this). Anyway, very chill, I dig it. |
| Apr 25 01:12:41 | 5m 59s | VITAL 2020 | ♥ 1 | Great use of sound! It really helped to ramp up the tension! The UI was also very good, it suited the game well. The only change I think I'd make would be making the buttons larger, or mapping them to keys for a frantic button mashing experience. That said, I had a lot of fun before dying at the ripe old age of 100! |
| Apr 25 16:02:09 | 14h 49m | Bear Naked Polar Party | ♥ 1 | Neat idea, and great use of sound, though I had a difficult time figuring out what everything did on the mixer (though I'm not an audio person). Maybe add some more info on the UI, perhaps next to the controls or a tooltip on hover? |
| Apr 25 16:15:09 | 13m 00s | Earth 2.0 | ♥ 2 | Cool game! I like the simple concept of dodging asteroids, though it did seem like they could spawn very, very close to you, making it difficult to avoid them in time. Other than adjusting the spawning, I thought it was great! Loved the music and intro too! |
| Apr 25 16:29:33 | 14m 24s | Goldsmith | ♥ 1 | What a cute game! I loved the music and graphics, and even though it took me a moment to figure out how to make gold the tutorial helped set me back on course (how each section is revealed is a really nice touch), and I liked having to manage all the workers to make gold. Really good job! |
| Apr 25 17:15:47 | 46m 14s | Boxes in space | ♥ 1 | Good job for your first LDJAM! Cute graphics, I like the slight glow to the boxes, and the controls were intuitive. If you keep working on it, I'd love to see an update where you only lose after all your boxes are gone. |
| Apr 25 17:32:49 | 17m 02s | Hibernation Journey | ♥ 1 | I made it to New Earth! I liked it a lot, managing all the different systems and keeping them in tip top shape was pretty fun. Only thing I think I'd add if you keep working on it is some sort of indicator when maintenance is needed or something is broken. |
| Apr 25 20:29:55 | 2h 57m | Blood Oath | ♥ 2 | Very cool game! I loved the graphics and audio, and I actually liked the hit stop. Movement and attacking felt great, impressive game! |
| Apr 25 20:37:26 | 7m 31s | Terri-Fried | ♥ 0 | Fun little game! I liked that the egg didn't roll or anything when you threw it, made things feel more purposeful. Good job with the graphics and sound too, they felt very appropriate for the game. Nice work! |
| Apr 30 00:36:13 | 99h 58m | Get the Barky Started | ♥ 1 | What a good party dog! Funny idea, it was great running after folks and barking at them. I thought it was a bit on the easy side, but that felt ok given how silly the game is! |
| Apr 30 00:49:34 | 13m 21s | Desertification | ♥ 1 | Very cute game! I love playing sweet little gardening games, and in this I really liked the art, music, and straightforward controls, though I did have some trouble working out how all the systems interacted together. If you keep working on it I'd love to see an in-game tutorial and/or more levels! |
| Apr 30 00:56:36 | 7m 02s | Within The Beast | ♥ 1 | Cool interpretation of the theme, but I do think it would benefit from a functional tutorial, or better in-game feedback on how your actions affect things. The controls felt good though and I wanted to play more! |
| Apr 30 01:03:25 | 6m 49s | Burning Out | ♥ 1 | Very cool idea! I loved how spooky, and eventually frantic, I felt as I tried to keep the fire alive! I did get to a spot where I'd cut down some trees but couldn't figure out how to cut them into sticks/logs to put in my fire, but I still had a good time. So atmospheric! |
| Apr 30 01:09:07 | 5m 42s | FROGISLN.ELF | ♥ 1 | Oh wow, I loved the graphics! Very chill game. At first I wasn't a fan of the movement orbiting the center, but I think I really just wanted the camera zoomed out slightly more so I could see a bit on the other side. Despite that I really enjoyed it and was pretty proud to survive till the end! |
| Apr 30 01:14:49 | 5m 42s | Snowball's Day In | ♥ 0 | Super cute game! Even though I eventually killed Snowball I enjoyed trying to keep the cat alive. Excellent music, and the snorkel made me laugh! I wasn't really sure how to fight the germs, but I still had a good time :) |
| May 2 13:33:57 | 60h 19m | Save the sun MAN | ♥ 1 | This was really incredible! The art, music, controls, story, all was very well done. There were a lot of small touches that I really appreciated, like the item UI and evolving music. I liked this one a lot. |
