| Apr 30 02:28:32 | Kaide and the Bloody Sacrifices | ♥ 2 | This was pretty fun - combat felt good, the effects and camera shake were really sweet, and the upgrades felt nicely paced. As others have said, the camera was a bit bouncy, and there wasn't much of a difficulty change over time. This was awesome though, really good work! | |
| Apr 30 02:35:51 | 7m 19s | Die Back | ♥ 3 | This was awesome! The art style and interface you guys created was really cool. Definitely took me one or two deaths before I actually figured out what was going on, but it was pretty fun! The animations and different enemy types were also really cool. Overall, really good gameplay and style - the audio was alright but didn't really lend much to the game, but other than that, I'm a huge fan. |
| Apr 30 02:40:53 | 5m 02s | Nine Lives | ♥ 1 | Cool concept, pretty fun base. I think it could definitely be taken up a notch with some sort of an upgrade system or sound effects - something to change it up a bit, but I'm a fan. The needing to give up a certain amount of lives to move on was interesting. |
| Apr 30 02:48:14 | 7m 21s | DISREGARD LIFE, ACQUIRE CURRENCY | ♥ 1 | The graphics are so good - the water, using the stars as a map, all really impressive. This is a really awesome idea and I'm a huge fan. Might be interesting throwing in some other gameplay mechanics - other things to find and interact with, for example. |
| Apr 30 02:54:59 | 6m 45s | Money is life | ♥ 1 | Has a really nice feel, and good movement and exploration. It's a good looking game and there's a lot of potential. I think it would help to add some more guidance of some kind - I didn't really know what to do or where to go. Other than that though, it was great! |
| Apr 30 03:02:51 | 7m 52s | goldenpixel | ♥ 1 | I really loved this! You nailed a lot of the core mechanics. The threat level was really cool, and it felt realistic seeing people running for the door. The other guns you could buy also felt really good. Overall, huge fan. I think adding finite ammo or some other mechanic to make it more challenging might be good to do. |
| Apr 30 03:09:28 | 6m 37s | Life of the Party | ♥ 1 | I thought it was pretty fun! The title of the game and the idea are a clever take on the theme, and being able to distribute life was a really interesting mechanic. I feel like there's a lot of potential here if there was a bit more added to the core mechanics, but this was a good game. |
| May 1 03:19:58 | 24h 10m | King's Alchemist | ♥ 2 | I really liked the game, well done! It has a nice challenge too it, but I think some of this is also because the UI doesn't really help with the time crunch. The graphics are really good. Would be great to have more levels or some other curveballs thrown in, but overall, big fan! |
| May 1 03:29:35 | 9m 37s | invertebrae | ♥ 1 | This was awesome, really well done! The music was so good - really added to the vibe. You really nailed the graphics/ambiance from the game. I also thought the way you made the story interactive was really cool, and being able to go back and try different combinations was a great idea. Like others have said, I think this would really benefit from some kind of an indicator about whether you've tried all combinations. Overall, this was amazing though! |
| May 1 23:20:19 | 19h 50m | utsvulten | ♥ 0 | Oh my. What a game haha. I can't really add too much that other people haven't said. Having better hitboxes or even some small highlighting to help know when you're over something that can be selected would be really helpful. But wow, the mood here is amazing. It's the perfect blend of creepy yet artistic - the sound effects and music really add to it too. Well done! |
| May 1 23:47:58 | 27m 39s | Idle Idol | ♥ 1 | As I was playing this game and had the entire map covered in the gold temples, I asked myself... why am I still playing this? I'm just putting more buildings on the map. Now I'm just going to destroy all these gold ones and replace them with blue ones. And yet, even though I was thinking that, did I still keep playing until I won? Most definitely. This was a super addictive game even without having much in the way of mechanics, so for achieving that in 48 hours: well done! That fact that you did it while adhering to the theme, having a great chill backing track, and really nice simple graphics that added to the aesthetic makes it even more impressive. This is an awesome game! I'd love to see this idea taken and enhanced by adding more challenge, or more things to do besides just building things. |
| May 2 00:01:17 | 13m 19s | 99 Days To Earth | ♥ 1 | This was a really interesting take on the theme - lots of other games with a similar idea around trading resources necessary for life, etc., but I think yours was definitely one of the better mechanical takes on that. I think you also did a really good job with the buyers and sellers that came through, and the frequency there. I was able to make choices about which resources were important, and sometimes some trades were good deals that would have been terrible at others, so that was really cool to see! The sound effects were between simple and hard-to-hear/scratchy at times. It took me a few days to really get the controls and what I needed to do, but your description that you added was really helpful. I think one way to improve the game going forward is to add somewhat of a skill curve or give the player some control over their own fate - maybe there are some controls where you can try dodging enemy attacks or something similar. Additionally, there's a ton of potential in the mood for this game - lost in space, under attack, trying to get back to earth. Definitely some really cool things you could focus on there. Overall though, a really good game and one I enjoyed playing! Made it to about day 70. |
| May 2 00:09:27 | 8m 10s | Danko | ♥ 0 | Awesome graphics and artwork, perfectly complimented by some great sound in the background. I think the idea of the game is really cool - lots of people had a similar take on sacrificing parts of yourself for boosts, but I think the way you guys did it with sacrificing your organs for different effects was really cool. One issue I had with the game involved hitboxes - it's hard to know where I need to be aiming at to hit an enemy. Additionally, I wished there was more feedback about when I got hit. The health bar would go down, but I wasn't really looking up there when there was like 5 enemies on me, so it would be nice if there was maybe some camera shake or some flashing somehow. Anyway, a really awesome game with a really high product value - well done! |
| May 2 00:18:04 | 8m 37s | Seaway | ♥ 1 | Definitely one of my favorite games of the jam so far. The overall aesthetic is out of the park. The graphics are absolutely stunning and I love the different biomes you include, and the ship models look great. The music is also great - gives off a kind of RimWorld-y vibe but works great in your game. The autopilot sound seems very familiar though - wondering where you guys got that from. Overall, a really amazing game, with good mechanics minus some occasional pathfinding issues. The only real issue I had was that it runs pretty poorly on my Macbook Pro, which is somewhat surprising but also somewhat not given that it's Unity. |
| May 2 00:42:22 | 24m 18s | Life Path | ♥ 1 | A really good idea that was executed pretty well. I think it would have been a bit more fun if you could've made some choices on what to focus on as you went, rather than all at the start. Additionally, it didn't seem like your age really mattered much in determining which events came up or what happened, so that was a bit disappointing. The music and graphics are great though, and really give this game a nice aesthetic. The ending is cool - it made me replay the game a few times just to see how I could change it. A really awesome entry overall! |
| May 2 00:49:20 | 6m 58s | D.R.I.E.D. | ♥ 1 | I could tell I would really like this game even from the preview image, but man, it was even better than I expected. The music and the graphics are so good. The overall feel of the game that you've created is awesome. It's like a more simple version of FTL in a different setting. There's a ton of potential here for continued work on this game in terms of more levels or areas to go through, more encounters, etc. The gameplay itself was pretty good, not much to it mechanically but the exploration made it fun. I agree with what some others have said - the game was short enough as is that whenever I hit an empty spot I felt a little sad. Overall though, an awesome game. Well done! |
| May 2 00:59:14 | 9m 54s | Sheep It | ♥ 2 | Man, the feel of this game is so cool. The graphics are awesome, and the animations just make it all come together. The background music is also perfect (and the sound effects are great, especially the mushrooms haha). It also just runs and feels really good mechanically. Seriously, the production value is so good for a LD game. The only issue I had is that, after awhile, I didn't feel that motivated to keep tossing sheep into the truck despite the tools and robots that came to help. It would be cool if there were some other elements to the game, like the ability to build things that could help you, etc. There's a lot of potential to this game as far as continuing to expand the concept. Overall though, such a good entry. One of my favorites so far. Nice work! |
| May 2 01:11:51 | 12m 37s | DEA-7H | ♥ 1 | This was a really cool game! I love the art style - really cements the aesthetic you're going for, and the feel of the game is on point. The core mechanic is a really cool idea, and I think you execute it well by having to balance asking questions with not tipping off the target, but right now it feels like the simplicity of what you can ask (only the same three questions, the only information you can glean is explicitly given) holds it back a bit. Others have come up with some cool suggestions - I think another would be that sometimes people you talk to reveal helpful information that isn't immediately obvious, or that you somehow make the player do some investigative work in that way. Overall though, definitely up there with some of the top games I've played this jam. Really good work! |
| May 2 01:15:21 | 3m 30s | Undercave | ♥ 1 | I really liked this game! The mood is really good - the graphics are really cool, and the background music does a really good job complimenting this. The gameplay is pretty simple but fun, a good blend of survival. This is awesome for a first-time jam! The controls made it a bit hard to use at times and once or twice I was confused about an item, but overall I really liked this one! |
| May 2 01:19:48 | 4m 27s | Delta Fighter | ♥ 1 | Really cool game! It was really smooth, great production value. The core mechanics all felt really good. The only real issue I'd say is that there isn't much variety and sometimes it was hard to know if I was actually in the ring. Great work though, and awesome art and sound! |
| May 2 01:26:55 | 7m 07s | Knit Worth | ♥ 5 | Man, this is an awesome game. The idea is so wacky but it works perfectly. You did a really great job creating the feel of the game - the footage in the background, the voice overs, the art in the beginning. The close-up of the nose was very SpongeBob-esque haha. The game itself was also great - I like that you had a pretty clear idea of what the core mechanic was, and just executed on that really well. The only thing I'd say, and some others have said it, is that the dark blue nodes were a bit hard to work with. I kind of wish there was some sort of a cue that they were about to turn red or something, even if that changed in frequency or time whenever a new dark blue one arose. I don't know, maybe that's a bad idea, but it feels like there's possibly something you could improve there. Anyway, truly can't say anything negative - this was awesome and one of my favorite entries! |
| May 4 00:14:25 | 46h 47m | Skeleton's Gamble | ♥ 1 | This was such a cool idea! I like how you played with the theme - using different body parts as a means to solve puzzles was really clever, and you executed it really well. The puzzles here were the perfect balance of simple yet learnable - I never felt frustrated after dying, and I always had an "oh, that's what I need to do!" moment. The graphics were simple but worked with it, and the audio was great - nice background music, and the sound effects were pretty good. Overall, a really awesome game! Would love to play this with more levels one day. |
| May 4 00:21:45 | 7m 20s | Space Gunner | ♥ 1 | The actual mechanics of the game here were so good! Really good feedback to shooting, and the actual feel of shooting (the sound effect, the shake, the enemy burst on death) were really well done. The take on the theme was pretty standard, and the graphics sometimes made it hard to make out what was going on (I did like the 2d on 3d background though). Overall, this was a ton of fun, definitely something I could see myself putting lots of time in if it was more fleshed out/more levels, etc. Well done! |
| May 4 00:34:44 | 12m 59s | SubMoney | ♥ 3 | This was a really cool game! I didn't know what to expect going into it, but ended up liking it a lot more than I thought. The mechanics of actually playing a song were good. As some others have said, it would have been nice to have gotten some points for mostly hitting a note - it felt like the detection was a little unforgiving at times. It might also have been helpful if the key lit up when the note was in a good spot, even just to help give a bit of feedback as to when the user should hit the note. The atmosphere of the game was really cool. I liked how people would flock around to hear, and how each station had a different taste. I actually loved the graphics - maybe they were simple, but I felt they really added a lot of the game. They also kind of contributed to a vibe of a game that takes place in a city where you can't play in the subway - a subtle hint of oppression or whatever, and the mostly gray/brown color scheme added to that. Overall, this was a really cool game, well done! |
| May 10 20:05:40 | 163h 30m | Sigillis | ♥ 1 | This really cool! I was really impressed with how accurate the detection was on what I was drawing - it would be interesting seeing how the game felt with more/less accurate matching, and seeing whether having a bit more forgiving detection would alter the gameplay that much. I thought the gameplay was pretty well balanced though, even though it didn't get very difficult until later on. The background track didn't add too much to the game, but I thought that the rest of the art and assets worked really well together. I'm impressed this was made for LD, a really awesome concept that you executed on really well - good work! |
| May 10 20:10:56 | 5m 16s | Life for Likes | ♥ 1 | Ha, this was pretty cool! I thought the concept was interesting and a cool take on the theme. The graphics here are awesome, and the dynamic selfies really gave the game some life. I was pretty impressed by that! The music/sound effects were good, but I found myself muting the game after a few minutes just because it was a bit much. The actual mechanics of the game worked pretty well though - I like the risk/reward of trying to get selfies with enemies (I guess they're just animals haha, but here they're enemies). Overall, this was pretty fun. I'm definitely a fan, well done! |
