| Aug 3 22:59:11 | Superbman | ♥ 0 | The idea is cool and could lead to some really nervous gameplay. However, the player currently stops 1 seconds after touching the wall and that in my humble opinion breaks the rythm. While I guess you did that in an attempt to make the game less difficult I would argue that i would be better to just slide as soon as you hit the wall. Not only would it feel more realistic but it would make form some great nervous playthrough where you don't even control what you do, you just react on the fly. The mechanic of this game definitely makes me think about super meat boy, in a good way, but it needs to refinment to be fully enjoyable. So keep working on it :) Also I found the hitbox that you can hit with your head quite unfair. | |
| Aug 3 23:11:05 | 11m 54s | QTechnologic Quest | ♥ 2 | Too bad there's only one level, it makes it hard to see what the other puzzles would like because it looks promising =/ (Maybe you could upload a post jam version with you level loader fixed ? I know how frustrating these things get when you have to fix them at the last minute ! ) The Music is really catchy and fits well with the game. The graphics are okay, by that I mean that most of the sprites looks super cute but the world doesn't really. I also did not understand if the different color tiles serve other purpose than just a decorating one. Also, and I would have preferred to test other levels of the game before giving my opinion on this, I Do not really find the control scheme intuitive. I would have preferred a direct mapping between the arrow pressed and the direction the robot will move toward. But depending on how you exploit it, it could also be totally valid to use the present control scheme. And in any case, congratulations on submitting ( an such a cute game ) on you first ludum dare :) |
| Aug 3 23:22:09 | 11m 04s | Quoala | ♥ 1 | Great game ! Excellent job. Like many said I found the text going too slowly and the bip and boops they make do not fit well with the otherwise excellent audio ambiance you manager to achieve. I did not expect to hear a different sound when turning right, excellent job :) ps: other minor defaults includes english mistakes in some lines of dialog and some line that as not as well written as most of the game. But Overall I really enjoyed it, good job ! |
| Aug 12 20:10:58 | 212h 48m | All of Me | ♥ 1 | Definitely impressed by what you could achieve with you own engine. The lighting and the scene is simple but efficient and I was surprised this much immersed in the kitchen. Maybe this has to do with the sound ambiance which was particularly well done. In my humble opinion a dummy window looking at a distant skyline or something like that would have added to the atmosphere without destroying too much the ambiant feeling of loneliness. The only frustrating thing would be the lack or a crosshair that would indicate with what I'm interacting and with what I could interact. This was even more frustrating since some elements would open only after the radio ran out of battery and that gives away the fact that we are only playing a game. (And also why isn't the cursor captured ? Having tested that on two screen it was slightly annoying). Otherwise excellent execution, keep working hard on your engine ! And one last thing, I know there was no animation when interacting with something but that still worked wonderfully well ( the sound + just switching to the new state of the object). :) |
| Aug 12 20:27:55 | 16m 57s | Satellite Suicide Burn | ♥ 1 | I really like the concept of the game, the fact that you can enable or not the stabilizers and can control thrust or rotation in every direction. However since there was a time limit I found myself just pushing forward, slightly correcting my trajectory and just hoping for the best but since there was a ton of asteroids I never managed to reach the planet. The music was nice but the sound that the text made was a bit annoying. The art is simple but does it's job nicely. Overall nice job but I would make the amount of fuel the limit instead of just time. That would make for much more interesting gameplay in my opinion. |
| Aug 12 20:32:35 | 4m 40s | Very Fast Robot Rolling at High Speed | ♥ 0 | My antivirus ( Avast ) thinks it's dangerous and won't let me run it :'( |
| Aug 12 20:43:07 | 10m 32s | Runner Out Of Power | ♥ 0 | I love the UI of the game, really of everything is tied together is quite a sight to behold for a ludum dare. However I found the UX of the death to be really frustrating since it takes so much time to retry a level (and I did die often). Making restarting a level faster would be a huge improvement I think. And Also, I found it quite weird that the vertical scrolling stopped while the current was moving up or down. Maybe you could put the wires in a diagonal way ? This way the global vertical movement of the game would always be at the same speed because the way it is right now is cofusing me when i have to quickly go up and then down. Anyway, good job :) |
| Aug 12 21:13:53 | 30m 46s | Action Power Robot | ♥ 0 | Pretty simple game. The controls are a bit hard to master, like somebody said maybe moving in diagonal would simplify things. And I don't know why but I often had to trouble to see if my robot was correctly aligned with the coins, maybe this has to do with the perspective camera. Good job anyway, it's great that you were able to make a lot of progressive levels and some tutorial pop ups when needed =) |
| Aug 13 19:58:58 | 22h 45m | daemon | ♥ 0 | I tried both the compo and the post compo version and both are super hard. Also I was disapointed to not be able to kill stuff with my demon sword. Apart from that I loved the visuals and the music, excellent job on this one :) |
| Aug 13 20:05:20 | 6m 22s | Wayside : A world awaits you | ♥ 0 | I like how simple and easy to pick up the game is, the music nicely fits with the cute graphics and the levels difficulty ramps up nicely. I however found the physics of the jump super weird (why does the character slows down when falling ?) and would have loved if smaller jumps made me lose less energy than bigger ones (which does not seems to be the case). Anyway, great job :) |
| Aug 13 20:18:30 | 13m 10s | Charge! | ♥ 0 | Truly amazing to see what you managed to build in 48h ! I really have nothing much to say except congratulations, you deserver it ! |
| Aug 16 12:12:22 | 63h 53m | Be Queen Bee | ♥ 1 | The game looks really nice but I don't really understand what you're supposed to do and neither did my friend. Because if you don't take the crown pettry much nothing happens. Well, sometimes the crown move on its own but you only have to avoir it to win. Maybe scoring point while holding the crown would add some incentive to take it. |
| Aug 17 12:01:04 | 23h 48m | Constellation Exploration | ♥ 1 | The concept was more efficient than i thought at first sight, which is always a good thing. I find it a bit annoying to have to start from level 1 each time. And if I were to suggest something for the energy it would be to consume it, not based on time but on the distance you travel. I do agree that it would change a bit the core of the game but right now, the time pressure urges you to move fast when you circle is so slow. And I forgot to say that the music was great ! Too bad it stopped after a while. Great job :) |
| Aug 17 18:28:40 | 6h 27m | AstroMouse | ♥ 1 | This is excellent, every aspect of the game seems really polish and I can't really say what you could have done better in 72h. Maybe alllowing to still see the surrounding of the ship while we are recharging the battery would add more tension and anticipation as you would see the ennemies coming at you. |
| Aug 17 19:51:49 | 1h 23m | Electric Neon | ♥ 1 | Great aesthetic. The more enjoyable way to drive the car for me was using the mouse for the wheel and the keyboard to accelerate, brake. Sometimes the wheel seemed to not respond correctly though. Oh ! and I love the music and how the tempo slows down when your battery gets empty at the end ! |
| Aug 17 20:03:56 | 12m 07s | PRAY FOR TESLA | ♥ 1 | At first i did not understand what the amplifier and the reflector could do and why i could not build anything. Then i read the rules more thouroughly and understood what was ground and what was not. I was still puzzled at what the reflector was doing. It seemed to just push away ennemies thanks to the wave. But then, I understand how everything actually works, how you amplify and rederect the energy, how the turrets gets their energy from the wave and I saw all the great potential this game has. In it's current form it's still super hard to pass the first waves of ennemies since everything is expensive but with a tad more polish and balancing it could be a great take on the tower defense genre. Amazing job ! |
| Aug 18 21:22:34 | 25h 18m | Ludo out of power | ♥ 0 | I used to play this game when I was a kid ! It's nice to see you tried to build upon it. However there seems to be a lot of shadowy points in the rules. What do you mean by "Without charging the battery, you have a maximum option to roll 10 dices." ? Because i had understood that each player only had 4 batteries token. And also I think, the way energy cells are disposed on the board would make everybody eventually run out of battery which would imply that if you have badluck with dices, you get even more punished by a lack of energy. Maybe you could tweak a bit the rules so that you could steal energy from other players that run over you or something like that ? Also, it would be wiser to put all the files in a standard format, png, pdf, whatever you prefer, but not everybody would know with what to open a .pdn ;) |
| Aug 18 21:33:02 | 10m 28s | Last chance to Mars | ♥ 2 | Nice and efficient design ! It took me a while to really understand all the details so maybe some polish on the UI would help with that. The speed sometimes gets out of screen and at first I thought I had to always have the thrusters on to move ( I know, it was dumb of me to think that but anyway ) and I would have enjoyed to have more info on how much each system consumes energy. So I would choose more wisely between the shield and the missiles. I did not managed to reach Mars (52 000 and a bit more though ) but I enjoyed the time I spent with your game, good job ! Also, the music was nice and atmospheric, really appropriate ! |
| Aug 19 09:26:10 | 11h 53m | Click The Power | ♥ 1 | Nice game ! You managed to wrap it all up (music, graphics and all) by yourself which you can be proud of. I would have appreciated a bit more difficulty though, like moving the cards around sometimes ? I don't have much idea but it would be great to spice it up a little bit ;) Good job anyway ! |
| Aug 19 11:18:40 | 1h 52m | Broken Shuttle | ♥ 0 | Wow I'm really amazed by the quality you managed to reach with you game for you first Ludum dare. This is impressive. I find the graphics gorgeous (sure it's not Direct X 11 PBR tesselated 4K models like in The Witcher 3 but it's beautiful in it's own way ) and the scenario complements really well the levels by adding a little touch of humour. Too bad there's no music, it could really bring this game to the sky ( see the irony here ? ). The only thing I think could enhanced the game would be some feedback on what forces the different planets apply on you because right now it's a bit hard to predict the movement of the shuttle and feels a bit too much like a luck based die and retry. A part from that this a great game that I really enjoyed playing and I'm really curious to see what you'll achieve next Ludum Dare ! Keep up the good work ;) |
| Aug 19 11:46:38 | 27m 58s | Shadow Lurkers | ♥ 1 | I like all the interactions with the batteries, having to pick them up and recharge them. This makes for some interesting level design (althoug I do have to admit I did not always see clearly where I had to go, well in the end I did and was able to finish the game ), all the more tense because of the shadow lurkers. Although I was quite frustrated with the controls as the character seems to move in steps and does not stop immediately when i release the key. Great work ! =) |
| Aug 19 12:11:49 | 25m 11s | Sorceress | ♥ 1 | I had a bit of trouble finding my way and controlling the sorceress toward the castle but i did enjoy the game. It's nice to see how you could achieve credible cloud with only a few spheres, it's a nice idea. I also like how the sorceress moves on its broom. Good job :) |
| Aug 19 15:21:32 | 3h 09m | Batterime | ♥ 1 | Wow, great game, I love how much you were able to polish it, the music's great, the graphics are cool ( above all the screen that darkens when you run low on energy ). Seems a bit too difficult sometimes, like you planned for just enough energy and if you make one mistake you're dead. Also it seems weird that if you press the key to move while jumping you consume energy but if you don't you still move but without consuming energy. Anyway, that's the only negative point i can see, i really enjoyed playing this game, Great job ! |
| Aug 19 20:04:56 | 4h 43m | WrongWay | ♥ 0 | Cool game, pretty efficient overall, i particularly liked the music and having the leaderboard is great ! It's a bit too difficult for me though, i feel like sometime it's too much based on luck and if i get hard elements right on it's kinda punishing. The world being a rectangle and not a circle is a nice take on the genre also it's sometimes make it harder to predict where I will end up. And maybe adding some particle effect to the violet line would make for an easier explanation of it's purpose. Overall nice game, good job :) |
