LD33 — You are the Monster

Monstrocity by JaviCepa 2015-08-24T20:11:00

I loved the fluidity of the controls at lower levels -- it seems like there isn't enough space to operate at higher levels (or maybe I'm just not very good) so I took a lot of what seemed like unavoidable damage.

Vicit Vim Virtus by Jod 2015-08-24T19:12:00

This was neat! It's probably impossible to write this much text in 48 hours and not have some grammatical errors, but the few I saw did occasionally break immersion for me.

I want to go back through and play a few more paths -- it would be nice if the decisions had a bit more weight to them for you OR if there were more backstory so that the affairs of the town were something I cared about more.

First Person Giant Monster Game by Xanjos 2015-08-25T03:52:00

I liked the way the rocks exploded!

Island Terror by TooMuchPete 2015-08-24T20:37:00

Shinmera: thanks for letting me know about the build problem, I'll get that fixed up right now!

Blinky, The Simple Beholder by twistedshield 2015-08-25T03:01:00

Neat idea! Putting in some additional mechanics or level options would probably help replayability.

EVILATOR by vividhelix 2015-08-25T03:44:00

This is a great concept. I liked the puzzle aspect of it, although I would also have enjoyed more of a "sandbox" mode that let me go to any floor I wanted and would, from time to time, give me more people without "resetting". Then maybe they'd get irritated after a while and use the stairs instead or get out at the wrong floor.

Over all, really awesome execution and concept!

Monster VS Tanks by wilpel1234 2015-08-24T19:36:00

I love the way the trees catch fire! That's really neat!

Beware the Experiment by Wevel 2015-08-25T03:25:00

I made one hell of a mess! It was really satisfying to see the buildings blow up! I didn't feel like I was ever in danger, though.

Monster Corp. by elmoGames 2015-08-25T03:14:00

This game is HARD. It took me a while to figure out what to do in the second room, but other than that, fun game!

Minotaur by MrSylar59 2015-08-25T03:36:00

The walls were a little sticky and the hitboxes were a little bigger than I expected, but once I got those things figured out it was smooth sailing! Nice work!

Scary Scary by psydack 2015-08-27T05:51:00

This is a neat idea, although it took me a long time to figure out that scaring at different times worked differently.

Undetected by Robinerd 2015-08-24T19:44:00

This is neat! Frustrating in a good way.

I agree that the perspective makes the collisions tough to reason about, but I love the faster levels that require me to coordinate movement of both thieves at the same time and quickly.

Kill All Fairies by TackoramaLtd 2015-08-24T19:21:00

I had the same problem with the fairies being outside of the screen, it'd also be cool if there were a countdown timer.

What do the giggling fairies do? They had some visual impact but I couldn't tell what impact they had on the other fairies.

The End of All We Know by Shinmera 2015-08-25T03:32:00

Thanks for the windows build! This game is gorgeous but very, very hard! Really enjoyed zipping around space and trying to crash into the planets without getting hit by the bullets!

Lure.Lair.Lunch by daveh 2015-08-24T19:32:00

This could be a really neat little puzzle game! It's a great start for such a short time period, and sound would really help it a lot.

One thing that might make the game a little more challenging is to make it work like tower defense, except that the spirit has to prepare the lair before the hunter walks in, and the hunter will try to complete the maze without using resources if he can.

Mutant Snakopede by TLansdale 2015-08-24T20:21:00

Awesome! The controls were nice although a little soft -- I wanted to move a little faster. It'd also be pretty neat if tricking tanks into shooting each other caused them to blow up.

Excellent submission!

Ant Destroyer by PostageStamp 2015-08-27T05:11:00

Tell me the truth, is there anything out in the water?

Let Me Be Frank by teamdreamteam 2015-08-27T05:28:00

The monster's running animation was hilarious! It took me a while to figure out that the people were actually harmful.

Policia para quem precisa by Markof 2015-08-27T05:25:00

I don't feel like I can fairly rate this game because I didn't understand a word of it, but I wanted to say that the car controls, while not being very realistic, were pretty fun.

Over your dead body by andreymust19 2015-08-27T05:45:00

It took a while to get used to the controls, but I really liked how well the AI worked for such a short period of time to work on it. Although I think the AI should be extended to see as far as the player can shoot, it was kind of easy to inch an enemy onto the screen and then shoot at them. Fun, though!

Poopie the Flying Monster by Sadale 2015-08-27T05:33:00

You made this just so you could make a bunch of fart noises, didn't you? Fun!

It's in the trees by games-placeo 2015-08-27T05:14:00

I would have loved to have been able to move diagonally and if getting spotted hurt you in some way.

Monstrous by mceier 2015-08-24T19:15:00

For something like Rust, it might be worth having some instructions on how to compile it on other platforms. I'm willing to do that compilation if it's obvious how to get started -- maybe an updated readme on the github page?

Lights Out by Steven Miller 2015-08-24T20:06:00

This was fun and really well done for such a short period of time! The music was really great! One thing that might be interesting would be if the people were at least a little freaked out by all of the dead bodies laying around, or if they turned toward the light switches when you turned lights off that they were nearby.

Hugs by Granat 2015-08-26T19:13:00

Really adorable! I love this!

Aberrant by Cake_Catastrophe 2015-08-24T20:35:00

I really enjoyed figuring out that I could use the soldiers as shields while I was feeding, I also liked that survivors would alert others -- it added a lot of challenge to the game. Great work!

The Slime's Journey by VDZ 2015-08-24T20:26:00

This reminds me of my BBS / MUD days -- I'm not sure if you planned out the amount of lag between statements showing up on the screen, but if so it worked out really well. Awesome!
