LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Overrun by WizZzLe 2022-10-03T22:09:23Z

The skeleton animations were cool :D

Heroes Scramble by tive 2022-10-03T21:22:01Z

I like the look of the sprites!

Tile Crawler by Ruben Christoffer 2022-10-03T22:00:13Z

Thanks for the feedback! We had some ideas for making it more intuitive how to play (such as indicators for buying tiles), but unfortunately we were not able to squeeze them into the timeframe and had to prioritize other things to get it done on time :)

Tile Crawler by Ruben Christoffer 2022-10-03T22:12:58Z

I'm glad you figured it out! Yeah, there are some balancing issues when it comes to the difficulty :)

LD53 — Delivery

Dungeons & Delivery by frozenfire92 2023-05-06T14:38:09Z

Very unique and interesting concept you've developed here. I like the artstyle, I think it looks very good. Some possible improvements could be to give the player some more visual cues, e.g. an indication on where they're walking to on the map when clicking. I also didn't realize at first that you can only click on the path to make the player walk.

The soundtrack fits and gives out "adventurous vibes" so I like it a lot. Also, I think you've given the game a clever name :)

Overall, good job!

Frontline Express by Vilmantas 2023-05-02T18:42:10Z

I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this, cause this is a great game! The overall look of the game is very good, the controls feel natural, and the soundtrack & audio effects works really well in giving you that "military vibe". The game progression is nicely tuned. It doesn't start off too difficult, which is a classic mistake, but naturally progresses into larger challenges. If I were to comment on possible improvement, I would have liked to see even more effects at the front-line (explosions, maybe more gunfire etc.) to make the player feel like they are really at the front-line / heart of the war, and that they have to deliver those supplies in time or it will have fatal consequences. Overall though, I am impressed by what you have been able to achieve in such little time!

Careless Express by Achiru 2023-05-02T20:23:41Z

I love this concept! The game feels very polished, and introduces you to the various mechanics in a steady fashion. The sound effect when you get a perfect level is also top tier :)

Goods With the Wind by Juutis 2023-05-06T14:09:10Z

Nice work for a 48 hour game! I like the audio and the controls are okay, but maybe needs some tuning to get right. The map is big which makes sense for a plane flying game and I like the big mountain "hiding" in the fog on the horizon.

A little suggesion is to make the bounding box for the delivery zone more clearly as there were moments when it looked like I dropped the package off right, but it wasn't registered.

Also as a personal preference I like when the keys are mapped on the keyboard in a way that resembles how the controls are used on screen. What I mean by that is that the throttle uses the keys C and V, while to me it makes more sense if the keys R or F were used for instance as they appear over and under each other on the keyboard, indicating the throttle going up or down. This is very nitpicky though, but thought I should mention it :) The keys are indicated in the UI at all times after all, which I think was a smart decision because it helps new players remember the controls and understand how they work.

Overall a great submission for a tight deadline!

Under The Moon Delivery by Attala 2023-05-07T16:52:21Z

Very well made and impressive for a compo. I particularly like the particle effects, but the style looks very good in general. It gives off "Kerbal Space Program" vibes, which is another game I have enjoyed a lot.

Deliwar by GraphicEdit 2023-05-06T16:02:23Z

Very interesting concept. The art style is very cool and the mechanic of collecting more and more boxes in order to become a more powerful animate object is unique and interesting. Not sure what the rain mechanic was for, but the visual effect looked very good. I think the controls could use a bit of polishing and the ranged attack was a lot more powerful than the melee attack, essentially making it better to always use ranged. Despite this though, the game looks very good, so keep up the good work!

All Odium Needs Is Love! by Skvader_418 2023-05-06T16:16:13Z

I think you've done a good job here. I like the simple art style and it goes well with the audio effects. The controls were intuitive, but the game itself was quite challenging due to the fact that you only have 1 life!

All Odium Needs Is Love! by Skvader_418 2023-05-13T21:50:50Z

@skvader-418 Hehe understandable. If you don't want the game to be too easy you could perhaps add a couple more lives, but introduce more enemies / make the environment more hostile to make up for that. Balancing is always hard though.

I love the little attention to detail both for the packages and in the background, and the magnifying feature was really cool. Controls were intuitive and easy to use, but I really liked that you included the controls as a note in the game so that you can look up in case you forget them. Overall a great and unique entry!

I noticed there were some problems regarding the Unity WebGl build and that is most likely due to the compression settings. The following two settings tend to make it work better on multiple browsers: **Player settings -> WebGL -> Publishing Settings -> Compression format -> "Disabled"** **Player settings -> WebGL -> Publishing Settings -> Decompression Fallback -> Ticked**

More info about this here: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/webgl-deploying.html

I've had these issues with WebGl myself and the settings are a little hidden in my opinion, so hopefully this helps :)

Apocalypse Prime by ADerpyChickenStudios 2023-05-06T14:25:31Z

This was a fun game to play. I like the humorous dialogue and little things like the skid marks that improve the overall feeling of the game. A small improvement that I think could have been made is to add some indication of the controls in the game, for instance adding a small "[SPACE] to continue" text or something similar in the bottom of the dialogue. The controls are stated in the description though, so it's really a minor thing.

Super Buffed Delivery Service by josep93 2023-05-06T23:17:58Z

Okay, I was not expecting that! Simple idea, amazing execution. Fun all the way, with unexpecting twists and turns. The soundtrack, the SFX, the art style and the little transitions all come together to give you the perfect experience of a super buffed delivery service. Amazing work!

Deliver Me From Evil by Ruben Christoffer 2023-05-02T19:14:38Z

@nrankin13 Thanks! Yeah the spawn rate and other factors is pretty hard to get exactly right. Different players will expect different difficulty depending on their play style, and when you have random spawning around the map it can sometimes spawn too many or too few near the player.

@attala Thanks, I hope it didn't scare you too much!

@manmantas Thanks for the tips, especially the one about adding fog!

@nozomu57 I'm glad that you bring up these points, because I thought about these points as well during implementation, but unfortunately didn't have any time to do something about it. These are definitely areas that would be high on the agenda if I were to develop further updates to the game!

Deliver Me From Evil by Ruben Christoffer 2023-05-02T19:19:46Z

@anguium Hehe glad to hear you enjoyed it. Yeah, balancing stats and other game mechanics is very hard, as changing just one stat can have consequences for other mechanics for instance. Ideally, you need a lot of data from many players who have played it over a period of time to really get it right (which of course is not possible in a game jam).

Deliver Me From Evil by Ruben Christoffer 2023-05-06T22:08:22Z

@frozenfire92 Thank you! It's interesting you mention that you think the difficulty should ramp up more quickly, because a previous comment suggested that I should slow down the spawn rate for zombies before you get the better weapons. Different players tend to favor different difficulties, so there should perhaps be some sort of difficulty selector to adjust for this (but alas no time).

Thanks for pointing out the normalization issue! Good catch :)

@slimefriend Thank you and thanks for the great suggestions!

CIA - Mailsystem by StephanSchue 2023-05-07T20:11:42Z

Really innovative take on the delivery theme. I like the style and audio. You should maybe consider adding a stage system or some other form of player progression in the future, but I understand if you didn't have the time to implement this. Keep up the good work!

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-02T20:45:59Z

I absolutely love this. The controls and art style is simple, and yet it strikes me as incredibly well thought out. The soundtrack is addicting and fits very well. The puzzles are clever and you have to stop and think as they are not always as easy as you initially think. Additionally, the smooth animations/transitions are the top of the cherry to this absolutely incredible game!

Darby's Delivery Service by tvyas 2023-05-02T17:32:08Z

First of all I must say that I really like the design and artwork in this game! I wish there was a way to re-organize the letters by dragging them to the side (without putting them all the way in the back of the stack) and to be able to select letters in the background. I feel like that would make the player experience smoother. That being said though, I really like the messages that pop up and you've done a very good job here!
