Cute game! Very nice graphics - everything looks pretty polished. The controls were intuitive and I didn't have a hard time figuring out what to do without reading the rules... Really awesome game!
Love the graphics you chose for this one. The warping around the edges definitely makes it harder to see while playing, but I think that's the point? I tend to not be someone to read game rules before jumping in, and I'm glad to say I really didn't need to for this game! (Huge bonus points.) It was a great use of the theme, as well... Really don't have any major critiques. Very replayable. Really solid game all around! Great work. :)
5/5 for humor! The whole thing is absurd - in a brilliant, "this is so fun" sort of way. I especially loved the dancing penguins, the polar bear towers, and the disco music to tie it all together. The controls are a little bit hard to get used to, but once you do, it's pretty straightforward. Great job!

Nice game! I would definitely suggest posting a screenshot and some instructions as I had a bit of a rough start trying to figure out what I was supposed to do! But I ended up defeating the genie and it was quite fun to do so! The graphics were definitely a highlight. Great job and good use of the theme! :)
@furiouswitch Hahaha, no worries! I'm glad you got some sleep - I'm sure, like our entire team, you were totally exhausted from the LD weekend. :)
Wow - hard but great! I appreciated the very short first level. I was a great example of "Show not tell" when it comes to learning how to play a game. Great aesthetic, music, concept - just really great!
I LOVE this game! I surprised myself at how much thought I put into hiring/firing authors and selecting issues to meet the demands of the readers. I also appreciated being able to pause when I needed to think over my strategy. Really awesome job!
I am a simple lady in that TETRIS is honestly my favorite game. So, naturally, I couldn't resist trying out your game - and I wasn't disappointed! I actually really liked easy mode. It was relaxing being able to press space when I was ready for another piece, and the calm music paired with that nicely. I think my only critique is that I wasn't always sure why certain lines cleared and others didn't. But overall, really excellent game! Nice job!
I think it goes without saying that the graphics are spectacular! The controls are easy to learn and memorize and the physics is impressive. SFX and music are great, as well. I think my only critique (and it's a small one!) is that the text on the menus (credits & controls) is a bit hard to read. Otherwise, it looks and plays like a very polished game. You should all be super proud of the game you created!
Really awesome game! Easy to learn and fun to play. Great use of the theme. I loved how simple yet effective the graphics you chose are. Overall, really nice job!
Aww, I loved this! In a sea of fast-paced games (mine included!), it was nice to relax and play this one. I chuckled a few times at the dialogue. I hope the crab becomes a well-renown underwater pastry chef! ;)
But seriously, guys. Amazing job. Super seamless, polished, fun, cute, and easy to learn and play! Great game!
Hahahaha, this one is seriously great! I don't know what kind of experience I expected out of this game, but THAT wasn't it! Hilarious. Throwing the syringes was just the right amount of challenging and the dialogue was great. Awesome game!
This has everything I love in a game. I think it goes without saying that the graphics are SO CUTE. The puzzles were challenging without feeling too frustrating. The gameplay was seamless as well. Really, really nice game! Probably in my top 3 that I've reviewed so far. :)
Cute! Nice graphics - obviously! I love the color palette that you chose. Admittedly I got lost in the maze a few times before I saw the convenient little map you put in there... Nice touch. I liked the other little touches you included like the change in music. It's these little things that some people put into their games that really make them stand out, in my opinion.
I honestly don't have anything major to critique. Fits the theme, great graphics and music, easy controls, solid build... Awesome entry!!
@nikthenarwhal Yeah - we're submitting ours for the jam so we should have it out in... less than 20 hours!!
@heyycap Oh, man. Yeah. That is 1 of the 2 small bugs that I'm aware of. At some point you just have to accept your fate and launch, though. I'm glad you liked it overall! As for the strange objects, I think my favorite is the goblin... :)
@lexyvil Are they not a thing on Earth? ;) Lol, thanks for your comment!
@bitdecay Yeah, that is very fair feedback. If we had more time we would have had different-sized bubbles for the items that weren't 1x1 because, yeah, they do get stretched out. :( Thanks for your critiques and nice words, they're appreciated!
@beanslasher Thanks so much for your comment! I'm glad the controls felt natural to you. :)
@alien Yeah, that's fair. What's happening is that you're allowed to drag items out of the cargo hold to make more room. So if the item isn't hovered over the crew member, it will be thrown out of your inventory instead. So while it's intentional, I think making that more clear would have been a good addition to the game.
@doctormozart Awesome, thank you so much! Yeah, FTL was given to me by a team member to help me visualize the look we were going for - so you are spot on!
@synfoniz I have to give the music & SFX to our team members Noah & Lurinym. I have no idea how to do that stuff so it's very much like magic to me. They're awesome and I'm so grateful they lent their skills to this project!
@roronoacherry Thank you so much! I appreciate you giving our game a try! :)
@gord10ahmet Thank you, thanks for playing!!
@fivenamefivesocks Wow, thanks for your kind comment! It means a lot!
@dalton5000 Ooh, I like that idea! Maybe in version 2.0. I've played this game SO MANY times over the past few days and I will admit that it's sometimes frustrating to have like, 3 crew members demanding a tribble and all you get from the conveyor belt is friggin' fidget spinners. Lol. But it's still fun, I think! Thanks so much for playing and your good feedback!
@mandarad Yeah, I understand what you mean. Like I mentioned above, while it is intentional, I think making that clearer would have been a good addition to the game. :) Thanks so much for playing and your honest feedback, it's very much appreciated!!
I'm so glad I decided to try out this game. Really cute - love the idea and the graphics. I'm not excellent at platformers so, despite my best efforts, I wasn't able to get very far. Despite that, it was still really fun to play and I had a good time. Excellent job!
Great game! The graphics were really nice. I really liked it, thus it almost felt too short and left me hoping for more. I agree that it's more of a memory game, but that's totally fine by me! Awesome job :)
Stressful - but in a good way! Simple enough to learn straight away, but difficult enough to stay interesting and fun. I really liked it! The graphics, music, and SFX were all great. Awesome game :)
I'm not the BEST at these kinds of games, but I had fun playing it! The music is banging. The fact that you kept my high score is probably my favorite thing about the game - I actually kept playing longer than I anticipated because I was always *so close* to beating my high score :) I eventually called it quits after I scored 151 pts (like I said, not the best at these kinds of games) but it was fun competing with myself.
My only critique would be that once the ship flips over it's nearly impossible to correct. I found myself often waiting for my fuel to run out because I had no other option. Luckily it goes down rather quickly so I really wasn't waiting more than 2-3 seconds, but I'm sure if you had more time it'd be a thing you could fix.
Overall really cool game and great entry to LD42!
First off, I got a chuckle out of the credits page. Very cute portraits!
Overall, I think the game was really good! I'm really impressed with how fleshed out this game feels. I believe your base game is solid enough that if you guys wanted to, you could build out this game into something really cool and detailed. Awesome job!
I'm a sucker for gorgeous games and this Vupu definitely fits the bill! I agree that it's extremely hard, but someone better at these kinds of games than I am would probably have an easier time. The controls felt really natural and were easy to learn. Other than the difficulty, I really don't have any critiques for this game. The graphics are amazing, the music & SFX are both perfect, it fits the theme, and the game itself is rather fun. Awesome job!
