LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Blót by SalamiChild 2018-12-04T03:24:38Z

Absolutely beautiful art, the visuals of the game are extremely well done! I do think the game could use some more user direction - the addition of a static menu that displays weapons and controls (at least for the first level) could be a handy reference. Great work, I'm so impressed!

As Of Yet Unnamed by Flaterectomy 2018-12-04T03:00:18Z

This game is amazing. The mechanics - in terms of the laser line and the missiles - was confusing initially because I would prematurely aim an agent when I saw the laser appear, but the game overall is so polished, fun, and beautiful to look at. You should be proud!

Hi, your link doesn't work for itch.io

Book of Crab by Andreas Roschal 2018-12-04T02:51:24Z

Absolutely love the movement of the main character, I giggled so much while playing. The proximity of detection for the enemy characters has a wide breadth, which was slightly frustrating but enjoyable all at the same time. Such good art too. :)

Hi, your itch.io link doesn't seem to work!

Blob !!! by funnbot 2018-12-04T03:07:37Z

@pixel-lifetime works great! I love the aesthetic of this game, it's very light and cute. I fell in love with Blob (not Bob, hahaha). I encountered some glitchiness, specifically stuttering, when maneuvering Blob around the trees near the first water hole. But so, so well done for 72 hours, this is fantastic and I plan on continuing playing!

@pixel-lifetime thanks a ton! :)

I Have Nothing - If I don't take from you! by Imphenzia 2019-10-07T01:21:43Z

I really enjoyed this, there were tons of moments where I covered my mouth laughing after being swatted at. Great work, you have a good thing going here, haha.

Dispel The Nyxion by Alex Lutay 2019-10-07T01:32:05Z

This is incredibly well done. It took me a second to grasp the mechanic, but I love how well the destruction is implemented. It really feels reminiscent of Minesweeper and a strategy game a la Fire Emblem in terms of style which scores extra points with me haha.

You should be proud of this, excellent work!

Mongol Space Program by mortus 2019-10-07T22:11:05Z

It was fun, different than anything else I'd played. You truly do follow the theme here. I like the lack of instructions initially, because that exploration aspect is always nice when its self-governed, but I would like some form of direction after a certain point (maybe after getting a plant) just so there's no risk of someone getting stuck and giving up. Very interesting concept and absolutely charming art style.

Bob the Brawler by itsdanidre 2019-10-08T00:28:52Z

Art style is awesome, cohesive, and really fun. I enjoyed the gameplay, I love brawlers, but I wanted the game to be a tad bit faster from the jump. Music added to a cool retro fighter type of mood. Wonderful work! :)

God of the Elements by Keppu 2019-10-07T15:10:03Z

Very relaxing, the music and slow rotation really added to the calm mood of the game and that was quite nice. I think an on screen menu storing what combinations of items you can do could be cool, but not mandatory. I like how well executed this was, great work!

Nothing but naked by LoneWolfDev 2019-10-07T22:35:28Z

I enjoy the premise of the game, controls, and the graphics a ton - its lovely seeing other pixel art games doing something new. I do wish there was a bit of.. cooldown time on the door opening, speed of detection, and speed of the NPCs generally, because the game at some points felt a little hard to play because of how quickly some characters moved, leaving me nearly no time to escape! I really enjoyed the overall game though, it was a blast and has been one of my favorites!

Be Wise by JanaChumi 2019-10-08T21:19:26Z

Man I really enjoyed this! Similar sort of mechanic to the game my team did, I loved collecting the spells and the falling animation made me laugh. :) I think its beating a dead horse a bit, but checkpoints would be a very nice feature to have. I could easily see this expanded into a full fledged platformer RPG! You should all be proud of this, great work!

BitterSweet by Conroy 2019-10-08T00:33:56Z

Definitely gets me in the Halloween mood! Excellent graphics (like omg, how did you do this in such a short time frame??) and I died laughing at the character howling/screaming at the doors of the houses. The combat felt a tad bit sluggish, I would've liked if it was sped up a little more. I could've explored that game world forever - reminded me of the fun I had as a teen playing Sneak King. Excellent work! :)

Pandamonium by Maytch 2019-10-07T22:26:09Z

So, first things first - this game looks incredible, so cute and fun graphically. I wish there was more incentive to hurt the enemies, since you can simply jump over them to avoid them in every case. I also wish there was more feedback on when the character is hit than just the health indicator in the HUD. Aside from that, great job, I had fun collecting acorns and the platforming aspect was especially nice and well done. :)

@milieu thanks a ton for your feedback! I can understand the negative feedback loop, it can be difficult at times to navigate those hits in quick succession. Also, totally agree about minor abilities being a neat inclusion. :) Appreciate your honest responses and kind words, so glad you enjoyed!

@drunkardwolf Thanks a ton! Very happy you enjoyed, and thank you for echoing the feedback - something to work on for next time. :)

@davekingcool Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate hearing your perspective. :) Glad you liked the game, means a lot!

Nully by Joshua Young 2019-10-08T00:24:15Z

@hiveminds Thanks a ton for the suggestion - I think a clearer reason (maybe in the form of a hint) could be useful for determining why the first enemy dies. Appreciate all the feedback, and so happy you enjoyed the game!

@zenpj great comparison, haha! Glad you had fun :)

Nully by Joshua Young 2019-10-08T21:14:57Z

@itsdanidre dude thanks so much! Glad you enjoy the music, and I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the progression of the mechanics being given to the character. We thought we wouldn't be ruthless game overlords and included the ability to pick the upgrades back up, as well as giving the player a decent duration of time to retrieve them. Happy you had fun and thanks for your feedback! :)

Nully by Joshua Young 2019-10-09T20:40:01Z

@janachumi Thanks for the feedback, I went and played yours and saw how our mechanics are similar. Yours is quite charming and I loved playing it! :)

bonsai life by and 2019-10-07T22:05:17Z

This game is one that I've played that I could easily see myself playing for hours. I got quite addicted to the growing mechanic and really enjoyed growing as much as I could. I wish there was a more directed set of instructions in game when it comes to the fighting round - I did find myself confused as to what I should do (but that didn't take away from the fun of it). You all should be proud of this, its such an addicting and unique thing to come up with in such short time! :)

9 Rooms Many Buttons by PenguinBoy 2019-10-07T20:18:00Z

I enjoyed the music and puzzle-like premise of your game! It was a tad frustrating with the mouse coming off the game screen itself if it wasn't full screen. The music added a humorous touch to it and it felt low stress pressing the buttons from room to room. Good job! :)
