I like the base idea a lot! I'd love to see more mechanics added. I can tell a lot of work went into this. The addition of layers of vision could have some really neat moments of discovery for players -- this idea was super cool.
There is a negative feedback loop that happens sometimes in combat where I become less able to address/escape a situation as I take damage, which often meant that one hit meant a lot of hits, which meant death. It might be neat to see more "small" or "minor" abilities to pad the spaces between the critical stuff (like jumping and firing), or something like that. Not the only solution, just one idea.
Also, pretty minor, but I'm an idiot, so I didn't realize I could move with WASD for a minute (I thought D was special for some reason, since it was called out alone in the tutorial). Worth considering that other players may also be idiots, haha.
I like Nully's bug-like bot aesthetic, and the electroswing theme taps into a fun modern zeitgeist. Good work!
@milieu thanks a ton for your feedback! I can understand the negative feedback loop, it can be difficult at times to navigate those hits in quick succession. Also, totally agree about minor abilities being a neat inclusion. :) Appreciate your honest responses and kind words, so glad you enjoyed!
Strong entry, great artwork and fun idea. I agree with the previous comment about the negative feedback loop, but other than that I had fun.
@drunkardwolf Thanks a ton! Very happy you enjoyed, and thank you for echoing the feedback - something to work on for next time. :)

Nice game. The first boss was a little bit hard, but the core idea of the game was cool. Well done !
I don't think the negative feedback loop is a problem, it's like having variable lives. I enjoyed the game and the concept was solid, the only issue i have is the harshness of the sounds, but it's nothing major, edit: or just my ears
@arielle-stroman, great submission! The sprites & animations were nice and the music was really well made!
Suggestions: The 1st enemy you encounter - not quite clear what caused him to die or why (Time elapsed?) Also the 2nd enemy was really weird to fight against, you can't really maneuver around / above him and he sort of rushes you which you couldn't really do much to defend against (was like a weird DPS race in a mega man -esque game)
But really fun and energetic entry!!

Great concept! I love the idea of losing abilities instead of health, reminds me a bit of Kirby when you would lose your copy ability if you took too much damage!
I died a lot on the first enemy before I realize that there no way to kill him and I just need to continue avoid attacks. Idea is good.
@valden thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
@davekingcool Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate hearing your perspective. :) Glad you liked the game, means a lot!
@hiveminds Thanks a ton for the suggestion - I think a clearer reason (maybe in the form of a hint) could be useful for determining why the first enemy dies. Appreciate all the feedback, and so happy you enjoyed the game!
@zenpj great comparison, haha! Glad you had fun :)
Okay, so first, this music slaps! First impression, the moving around without much context was a thing. Uhhh do I jump? Do I run? Nope and nope? Alright let's just explore. Oh I have legs now...I like where this is going. For the first Boss I automatically died at the start and maybe thought I missed a few upgrades, but out of curiousness I tried to survive as long as possible (and also found out I can collect my upgrades again, that's when I got the ability to shoot) Fun game overall, brought a whole **WOAH** to me when I was able to bounce back instead of letting the metaphysical monstrosities that are haunting my dreams electro-swing all over me. Short but fun! *Edit*: I'm back because I almost forgot to vote!
Great game, we've got almost the same idea but I recognize u did it better. I really like your game.
@itsdanidre dude thanks so much! Glad you enjoy the music, and I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the progression of the mechanics being given to the character. We thought we wouldn't be ruthless game overlords and included the ability to pick the upgrades back up, as well as giving the player a decent duration of time to retrieve them. Happy you had fun and thanks for your feedback! :)
@janachumi Thanks for the feedback, I went and played yours and saw how our mechanics are similar. Yours is quite charming and I loved playing it! :)

it's a bit shame it's so short because i think it could be a great game with more levels :) really great work !
Nice work - I like the way you introduced the game with what to press and he ran off into the level. For a while I was wondering if I could do anything to get way from the first "monster" but when I saw Mods 4/6 I realized that I should somehow collect more - the cloud he turned into I thought was collectable too but found out it wasn't :) Second enemy reminded me a bit about cup head, especially with it being in grays too. Nice music (that is now stuck in my head...) Good entry!
Great game! I liked the art a lot and music was majestic. The gameplay itself was pretty neat and cool, the fact that you gotta get "mods" to be able to do things was very nice. So congratulations creating this work of art!

I loved the core idea of the game, especially when I got hit and forced to pick up my abilities again x) It was a little bit glitchy at the final boss, but nothing to serious, enjoyed the boss fights too! Great job!:)
