Impressive! All that art in such a short span and what an evocative mood overall. Nice throwback to the heyday of point and click. Decent music too. Good work! Was I the monster?
Looks great and it's well polished but the gameplay isn't fun. Also my screen flickers white now and then, not sure if this is an intentional lightning effect but it was quite disorientating. Wonderful look and feel though.
Absolutely excellent. Taking such a classical reversal and then sticking to it so devoutly has paid off handsomely. So many delicious nods and references. Also loved the music! Good job!
Nice! Good art, good humour, dark and monstrous. The basic concept proved more fun than I expected and I happily made my way to the end.
Nice looking and sounding game! Fits the theme but is quite simple, not very challenging. Nice to be able to move on from crashes using Ctrl.
Good little game! Nice art and interpretation of the theme. Quite funny too. Either the level or the controls could be a bit more forgiving. Also I wasn't that keen on the audio.
Elegant concept and stays fun surprisingly well! Could well imagine a bunch of levels with this mechanic so keep working on it. Shame the concept got scaled back but glad that the end result is fun. Could really do with some kickass retro music.
Very nice! Such a complete game befitting the theme. The endgame is a bit painful as tends to be the case in 4x games but the completeness of this entry is very impressive.
Nice art! Works just fine but needs to be made more challenging. Good work in the time you had.
678m! Nice game. Good responsiveness to the controls and a fair amount of variety and a good amount of content. I liked the police cars that came to chase. There was some odd behaviour from the civilian cars as they would drive through obstacles. The music got a bit repetitive. One time the 'Play again' button didn't show up.
Very satisfying entry. You've done the monster behaviour really rather well, it is a bit slow-moving though. Fun!
Monsters and robots in space! Pretty cool!
Very neat! Reversal of a classic - anti-mario games are clearly the way to go. Looks good, plays well, good idea to force the player to dodge barrels too. Nice and complete for 48h effort.
Stunningly good and complete serious, topical game. Great use of PICO-8, packs a lot of content in and does it well. Music gets a bit painful. Excellent work!
Tricky but got to the end! Man that kid is a dolt. Sounds got pretty grating and could have done with some music but can imagine many more levels of this. Good challenge and nice to be able to restart without any delay. Inspiring me to look at Pico-8, good job!
I got the idea thanks to the annotations! Got through the game once I understood the principle - it was ultimately quite easy but I feel there is something here to be developed. The notion of mourning affecting morale is good. Kind of fits in with the theme too! Would have been good if the opponents mounted some kind of counter-attacks I thought, so if you can then please develop this further. I liked that spouses could be of any gender.
Solid retro! Easy to beat but love the fidelity to the theme and nostalgia.
Cool voice acting! I always get swallowed by monsters :( Not quite a game but a fun entry still.
Cool little idea nicely done. Didn't encounter bugs. The graphics are fitting.
Remarkable! I'd rather play this than that other quadrilateral game, thomas block or whatever. Tasty!
Felt like a nice throwback to the 90s! I like the ambitious depth and the very notion of being in charge of your own world ship generally speaking but I didn't feel it matched the jam theme that well. I had some fun in trying to find a balance between finding new worlds to exploit and keeping restlessness at bay. I wasn't able to win the game, nor lose it, and having bottomed out on happiness seemed ultimately to not matter that much. Could do with better guidance and more of a direction for gameplay but I'd be happy to see this game develop and get more balanced.
Not massively intuitive but there's quite a neat idea at the base of it. Feels like the idea needs to develop further, there is a good puzzler here somewhere. Should perhaps also be able to jump further along the chain at least when moving. Good music!
Indeed a very polished game with a neat core mechanic. Most complete out of the half dozen I have tried so far. Have to respect taking an idea for a jam and polishing it well - I find it quite challenging myself! Throwing helicopters out of the sky is fun. Would have been nice to have more buildings or vertical levels to play with.
Got stuck chasing the moon! Nice work in such a brief time, the explosion effect is particularly impressive. Took me a long time to hit the first moon. Some odd directions some of the time when I tried to shoot. Good effort!
Simple but nice game, definitely something to build up further. Given the cool way you can push enemies off the ledge it might be fun to put in more momentum, and make the level a bit more complicated perhaps. Nice work!
Looks very neat!
Tricky! Nice game still, chomping is fun. Love the character animations. Got stuck at the top border one time. Goes fine with the theme. There's another game entered in the jam where you are a monster killing sheep so this is a great counterpart to that.
Great take on the theme, the game is both funny and fun. Think I ate a few too many townspeople... Shame there's no audio! Awesome work
Puts you in an awkward place! Sickening sounds and really does work with the theme.
Puts you in an awkward place! Sickening sounds, mad music and really does work with the theme.
