LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Akashica by Skruffye 2022-04-06T15:45:35Z

I haven't finished it yet, if it can even be finished, but the way I lost was so amazing it made me fall in love with this game.

I love a good narrative game. This is a good narrative game. I love it.

I'm going back and I already know that I'll want more once it is over.

(Also, how the hell did you manage to write all this in three days?)

I really wanted to play this - in part because of the awesome name of your itch.io - but it crashes on launch on my antique Windows 7.

Witchcraft by Croosle 2022-04-06T10:14:53Z

I would have loved a tooltip to explain what weapon levels did, but I can imagine time was an issue. I just sunk an hour into this game. No weapon seems like the absolute go-to pick, which is quite an achievement for a game like this. Congrats!

Unhoarded by Andreas Roschal 2022-04-06T12:03:13Z

The gang of skeletons I'd paid to defend my vault in case anyone breached the walls disappeared without ever fighting. I don't remember negotiating such lenient work hours. Why work for an evil overlord if you're going to unionize? That's just bad business sense. Excellent game with a lot for room for growth. It gets hectic and hard to follow as the game progresses, but I imagine that's the point. I would happily sink another hour into it.

Wipeout by TheMoonrise 2022-04-07T10:35:06Z

The game is neat and well-done, it reminds me a lot of the old yetisports flash games for some reason (wasn't there one on a surfboard? I can't remember). Perfect for short sessions when the mood strikes. I think an uncapped multiplier, that persists between tricks and decreases or resets outright when losing balance, would do a lot to drown my brain with dopamine and increase tension.

Holding On by Trebby 2022-04-07T16:59:42Z

I held for 508 seconds. I didn't want any word you put into the impact of this game to be wasted.

That was daring. I'm glad you didn't flinch away from the idea.

Leaky Blood by U-Tsang Clan 2022-04-07T14:24:44Z

Elegant, simple, new, effective : what's not to like? Each level is its own puzzle to solve, using mechanics that force you to think in unusual ways.

Only criticism I could find is that level generation can screw you however you prepare, in a way that feel gratuitous and unfair. Some amount of control over the level generation, perhaps, could solve this?

Thank you for a great game!

GRIDLAST by cakts 2022-04-05T16:40:57Z

I thought I was burnt out with zombies and card-based mechanics, but you proved me wrong with an unusual, light twist on both. With a few more card options, I can see myself losing a lot of time to this game!

Atlantis by lisyarus 2022-04-08T09:06:24Z

Very neat little game, it's hard to stop once you've started, even once the waters are frozen in an eternal winter. You just want your creation to live forever.

Plus very polished for a compo game!

As other players have mentioned, the difficulty curve could do with some tweaking. But it's hard to find much else to critic.

Cup Half Full by BangTheWall 2022-04-06T11:24:18Z

Outstanding! This is a game with the potential to go viral for sure, with a tiny bit more polish in the graphics department.

Will Goo by Rafael Garcez 2022-04-05T18:01:33Z

Looks like the difficult sections are designed to make inevitability a reality! Nice game, small but polished. I enjoyed the repetitive elements that felt like learning was useful, also the exhausted alien face.

I Would Like to Thank the Academy by sprunth 2022-04-07T15:41:35Z

The concept is original and very interesting, but I would have loved to have more fine control over each reply!

Jupiter Station - v0.5 by Kyra Sanchez 2022-04-07T13:22:31Z

On the previous user's comment, with which I completely agree, I'd like to add that I really liked the relentless coming on of new enemies, and the sense of urgency and ineluctablity it brought.

Even reading your previous comments, however, I was unable to understand how the shield worked. It seemed to me new ships did attack in full. Maybe I played an older version somehow.

I had a lot of fun anyway. Kudos !

This felt like a fever dream.
