Incredibly good for a gamejam. It's really rare to see a complete game with levels and an ending. I am personally not a great fan of platformer puzzles but this one was executed well enough to deserve 5 stars overall. The theme was explored thoroughly, the graphics were enjoyable to look at and even though the sound was at a bare minimum, everything else was superb! The mood was also supported by author's remarks between and throughout the levels, which is interesting. All in all, I was delighted to play the game!
Love the idea and the execution is pretty great! Very hard to control though. Also I'm not really sure if other units have their functionality added yet, as in my playthroughs they died pretty quickly without doing anything. All in all, great little game! Just needs a bit more polish to make it more comfortable to play. Also maybe it would be easier if the necromancer would be controlled with WASD as it is very hard to micromanage both him and the army. Just a suggestion though.
The game is **crazy** good. I have no idea how you guys managed to make **this** in just three days and on Lua no less! Everything from sound design and graphics to voice acting is absolutely stunning. Phenomenal work!
Great entry! Possibly the first one that actually felt like a challenging and complete game. Incredibly addicting, I actually took the time to beat it. Absolutely loved the graphics and the art style. The balance was quite good, a few of the foes were phenomenal and had a lot of personality in their movesets and designs. Great job guys, keep it up! Only one tiny bug though: after a few attempts my guy had a constant visual effect of being stunned even though he wasn't. Other than that, everything was perfect!
This is powerful. I am simply in awe. Just wanted to let you guys know that you are a huge inspiration for me. The art, the idea, the narration, the sound and music are absolutely incredible. This is a true work of art.
This is hands down the best game I've played on this jam. Graphics, sound design, mechanics, level design, humor: all of it is mind-blowingly amazing. I have no idea how you've managed to create this in 48 hours. Good luck on your next projects!
Overall the game was a pleasant experience. The Link to the Past vibes are strong here ;) Unfortunately, I couldn't manage to go through the main gates inside the castle, even though I fed both of the werebunnies and pressed the waterways button on and off. Another issue I had was that the player character felt slow but that's just a nitpick I guess. Apart from that, I really liked the quirky sound design and the pixel art was cute! Good job on the game!
Extremely challenging game, wasn't able to progress beyond 5th level or so. Even though the base game is finished (which is a huge feat btw), the balance issues make it very frustrating to play. The pixel art is simplistic but not bad at all. The best things about the game is definitely the sound design and the mood. Overall, good job on making the game!
Finally, that's the type of game that I was looking for! For me the balance was perfect: not too hard, so the occasional little bug wouldn't completely ruin the game, and not too easy either. The gameplay loop is very satisfying and the risk-reward implementation of the theme adds just the right amount of spice. The pixel art is minimal but effective and the lore before the start of the game definitely adds to the atmosphere. The main attraction here though is definitely the mechanics. As a nitpick I would point that I personally would've loved if the prices for the upgrades wouldn't be so steep so we could see just how overpowered the player can get (similarly to the current build of Risk of Rain 2). All in all, I really enjoyed my time with the game. Good job and good luck!
I've spent way too much time playing the game haha. I really like the gameplay and the art direction, both really remind me of Pathway. Right now I'd say the biggest trouble that I had was the inability to look at the stats while moving my mercs. Overall, great entry!
Honestly this game is probably the best I've played in a long time. I'm not even sure why, but it feels really familiar and touching even without any sound or animations. The whole presentation is just... serene? Anyway, this is the second game that I've rated 5/5 on every aspect so far (the first one is MooMMafia, check it out when you have a chance).
So as far as I can see, the creators of the game most likely didn't have the time to make the game the way they wanted. I get the pain, believe me. I guess all I can say is that we've probably learned a lot during this jam and next time we'll do much better! Other than that, you certainly managed to do a much better job than me so congrats!
Simple and beautiful! I'm in love with the graphics and the whole concept is great! With sound design the game would be a perfect little experience. Really liked that little morality dilemma, though I'm not the one to take unnecessary risks :p
