Love the inscryption feel to this game!

jasminej2003 2025-10-07 04:20

astonishing!!!!!!!

t-c 2025-10-07 04:42

Interesting game! Made it past the 3 elites on the third try. Finally figured out what everything did enough to make a successful deck. I like the idea that you HAVE to take things that are bad for you, and the purge event is near required. I also found the heal event being that you heal for damage done is really neat. Enemies not attacking, but taking damage on drawing cards, and having effects that amplify it were all very clever takes on a deckbuilder.

All that being said, playing the game was still pretty hard to follow. Almost every card does some kind of multiple chain, with the information displayed on what they do only after you pick the card, so following along and really understanding definitely takes a few runs. Even the deck I won with, half the time I'm just like "ok, something happened and I don't remember or know why, but it's working so  .

Neat submission! You are clearly enjoyers of deck building games, and have created something with a lot of very neat ideas that I have not seen explored elsewhere. Very good work!

The card effects are incredibly diverse, but some keywords weren't clear to me when selecting cards, which left me a bit confused. It'll take multiple playthroughs to get familiar with them. Like in Slay the Spire, there are also many cards that inflict negative effects, but it's interesting to make this a core theme and mechanic.

314owen 2025-10-07 05:12

Really fun deck-building game with mechanics that build well off of each other. Only issue was full-screen not working on itch (firefox).

blatalzar 2025-10-07 06:20

Insane work guys, very fun! It takes a few run to get the hang of it (i understood later that i could hover over the status effect to understand them, and it was still a bit hidden behind the cog), but I really loved it.

poboy 2025-10-07 06:21

Thanks for playing all :)

@ckane144 : I love Inscryption! Definitely a huge influence

@t-c : You're the first known person to have actually beaten the game, none of us (the developers) have. Appreciate your very well-thought-out feedback, finding some way to communicate all the different systems to people was definitely a challenge. Also yes, we love deckbuilders here :) Thank you for playing!!

@314owen : Appreciate the feedback, we'll take a look at the fullscreen issue

tinykidtoo 2025-10-07 06:36

The pick your poison section was really fun, after I understood it. It's a nice bit of strategy. I did feel overwhelmed by the large amount of keywords. It was not always clear what they do. I had to keep referring to the game description.

0x0961h 2025-10-07 07:50

I found that Respiratory Infection is VERY effective against normal enemies. I got lucky and pretty much oneshot enemy after enemy with it.

I had some problems with picking the path, for some reason clicking zone was a bit below the text, but other than that it's a nice concept for a solo card game! Would be fun to see it more polished and with more graphics and effects! Just... maybe not for the Dysentery. :joy:

chikendeath 2025-10-07 08:59

good job, very intersting idea by taking damage by yourself, nice difficulty and mood

space8 2025-10-07 09:02

I love the theming and overall vibe. The gameplay concept are also interesting how your are always kind of fighting against your own deck while the enemy adds a debuff or extra challenge. It works for the theme too because diseases are usually pretty abstracted.

leophyte 2025-10-07 09:18

ez, first try.

jokes aside, some really good ideas (it's already been mentionned but the way you guys did the healing and purge is pretty smart), good variety of cards and illustrations, and most importantly I thought it was really well balanced but idk, maybe I just got lucky. A shame that it's missing the in-game effect explanations though, I know its on the page but there was an explanation at some point on the top right and it would've made everything feel more cohesive if it was the case for all effects, all the time, slay-the-spire style. Also, I felt encephalatis and smallpox would work better as normal cards and not as On Draw cards, as they are both bonuses and it takes away some small strategies like pumping your strength before using encephalitis to deal nuke damage. (Maybe it's a balance decision?) Finally, the presentation could've used some more work (like replacing the default fonts), but I realize considering the work done that you probably ran out of time to do that  no biggie. Good stuff :)

edit:nvm the effect displays works, altough its a bit finnicky, no idea how I missed that on my run

I fought an elite straight away, bad idea ... Great game though! Much easier once you collect some better cards fighting normal enemies first.

alpaca-041 2025-10-07 09:58

Salute to everyone try to make DBG in GJ.

It's fun, but some of effect (like Pox) cannot be resolved normally?

ry0 2025-10-07 13:48

It's an unusual and quite exciting game, but there's too much information on the screen, it's hard to concentrate. Otherwise, it's an interesting experience!

nazorus 2025-10-07 15:37

A psychedelic disease collection roguelike deckbuilder, now that's the kind of game I don't get to play very often. That was a funny and memorable experience for sure with interesting mechanics. I'm pretty sure I was a few Slay the Spire references as well, which is always a plus. Good job on this entry!

Edit : oh, and the music is awesome :ok_hand:

kazuren 2025-10-07 16:36

The art reminded me a lot of inscryption, it's also the reason this game caught my eye when browsing for games.

The mechanics were a bit confusing at first and required some time to get used to. I ended up going for a rage build and just one-shotting enemies haha.

Some cards I didn't see a reason to ever pick as they seemed to just cause some negative effect, but maybe you could combine them in a good way somehow? I just didn't see how.

artalasky 2025-10-07 18:47

Very atmospheric and addictive game.

lemonink 2025-10-07 21:26

Loved the atmosphere and the hardcore setup of the game. Definitely died on a learning curve before I became master of the cards!

syphorce 2025-10-07 22:47

I loved the theme of this deck and I am a big fan of deck builders.

nomus 2025-10-07 22:59

Really cool, the ambiance is so nice

kamilah 2025-10-08 04:48

Really cool game with a creative concept! It was cool to have to balance dealing damage with the negative effects that come with the cards. It's a really fun challenge, unfortunately I did die a lot haha. The music was cool and the art style/theme was a fun idea! Great job you guys!

balimaarthebassfish 2025-10-08 04:57

Definitely an interesting choice for overall theme. "Collecting diseases" :D

I had a good time!

thisisspy 2025-10-08 08:49

Took me a while to understand everything but I beat the game in the end. Really interesting experience, love the atmosphere

floriancohen 2025-10-08 09:28

NIce game ! i love your DA good job guys

kseniya 2025-10-08 10:39

Beautiful game

vadim-lyanka 2025-10-08 11:01

Very good game, well done team!

sergs-workshop 2025-10-08 12:56

Nice deck builder overall, and the disease concept is especially interesting. The artwork and inscription-like visual style are great. With adding VFX, consistent enemies and some UI polishing, this could be a real gem.

Great job!

liam 2025-10-08 14:50

Loved it, very much the kind of game I love, managed to beat it on my first try! Found the cards mechanics good, fit the theme well. The healing fights were an interesting touch.

artificer 2025-10-08 18:06

At first I was trying hard to combo the illnesses but then I realized I can just shred my coughs, get really mad, and bite them to death :shark: I really like the concept and had a lot of fun trying to figure out how not to die of my own cards. Love the aesthetic!

adam-gallina 2025-10-09 01:22

Really fun gameplay loop! I was a bit confused at first why my turn didn't end, until I realized my deck was also my enemy lol. Lots of fun to try to balance the deck to be able to maximize your damage without killing yourself in the process. My only real complaint was the lack of SFX, some sound effects would have really enhanced this submission, but still a lot of fun as it was, great job!

Edit - just realized my sound output was going to the wrong speaker lol, replayed, music sounds great

ciphereo 2025-10-09 04:49

So interesting!! So cool!

bluedingo 2025-10-09 17:24

very neat. I like the 3d models and look of it. I was a little confused what certain cards did, but I think I did well on my run

dumchevdev 2025-10-10 12:33

Great job, very cool idea!

sceef 2025-10-10 17:07

These games are hard for me, but the game has a very interesting visual.

kuggenhoffen 2025-10-10 18:48

It felt quite difficult for me but I'm certainly not very good at deck building games. I could see how there is quite a bit of strategy involved in the game. Otherwise the game feels quite nicely polished and there is quite a bit of content. Great work!

truedat 2025-10-10 19:23

great work what you guys did here !

kagegona 2025-10-15 05:53

nice submission, really coherent visuals and sound and the gameplay works. The only thing that I could say is that the font choosed makes the cards effets difficult to read!

yorsh 2025-10-17 00:16

Cool idea and well made! The game feels very complete and has all the most important features of deckbuilders, that's a lot of work.

Given the time constraint of the jam, I think you went for too many keywords and card effects. Imo it would have been better to have less of them, but focus on making them easier to understand in a few minutes. This said, outside of a jam context it's cool to have a lot of diversity.

Great work!
