Looks really great but I was not really sure what I was doing. I tried to click/press all buttons to be strong on the right side.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD55 → Riot in Hell

I like the art. But had the same expirience as @tykki19. You could try to highlight the cost of a summon/building a bit?
Visuals are great.
Its incredible how much you have managed to do in such little time period. The graphics are superior, movement and AI of units is so smooth. The Left side needs a bit of time to ghet used to what each thing does, but once i did it felt great.
Nice visuals, fluid gameplay, maybe missing a tutorial or some more information when hovering above the items :) I had no sound, not sure if it's from my browser or not implemented ? Nice realization overall !
The mechanics are addictive once you get the hang of it... which wasn't quick for me. But I got into the game to see how far I could take it. Perhaps it lacks some variation in the action or events... like a Boss or something that changes enemy wave continuously. ... And I wish it had sound! :_(
Nevertheless, good job!
Good idle game, and interesting idea!
@k-toll Thank you for your insightful feedback, we haven't even thought of a boss mechanic, but it definitelly goes on the list :D Sound-wise, we quickly scratched it so we can focus on gameplay, but yeah, it's just completely missing.
this is a very interesting idea, but now the lives of enemies are burning brightly and obsessively ((it occasionally gets in the way (but overall the game is pretty good, keep up the good work
I don't know how to play, but it's fun. the visual is very beautiful!
A bit confusing at first, but really good when you know what you're doing. The art is also really nice. Great work!
OMG how did you do it so quickly and got such an amazing game? i really love everything here
Great game, a bit condusing in the beginning
A lot of info on the screen at once kinda overloads at first, I can see a fun little wave defense game, but struggled to figure out my way around initially. At later points the visuals on the right just becomes a screen of health bars which makes it a bit hard to see. If you took this further implementing some hover over tool-tips for the cards and maybe shrinking/colour coding friendly and enemy health bars.
The gameplay mechanics in this game are so intuitive! It's like the controls become an extension of your own instincts. Plus, the art style adds a unique flair that keeps you engaged throughout. Definitely a gem worth exploring!
Great Game. Hard to learn at first but after that it become smooth
Nice game.
I was able to survive very long, but at some point tons of cerberus appeared at once and their AOE one shooted my 1000 knights and 1000 holy knights.
Bugs: * If you click the shrine button or a unit button, then release the click outside the button, it will repeat indefinitively (but IMO this should be considered a feature). * The units upgrade buttons seems bugged. I could not see the peasant upgrade for most of the game, then was able to upgrade a few time (it costed thousands while I had already millions), then it disapeared again. Eventually I wasn't able to upgrade anything anymore (but maybe I was maxed out).
Such an engaging game. I spent quite a lot of time playing it XD. Definitely fun.
It would have been even better if there was some audio. It is still an amazing entry after all.
This is a really cool concept and I can see where you were going with this! Here's some constructive feedback:
- I think you need to ease the player a bit in with the gameplay, because it is very overwhelming at first.
To fix this you could for example, at first, only show the shrine card. Let the player see that their faith goes up when they press the pray button. Then once they have enough faith for a unit. Show that unit (like you do with upgrades). When they buy it show the unit go from the card into the battlefield. Then the player understands this creates a unit on the battlefield. After they've bought a couple units say that a wave of enemies is approaching. They watch them fight on the other screen. Then after a couple waves and the player has been introduced to upgrading and more units you could show a building card.
- I would also make a clearer visual language of who are the bad guys on the battlefield and who's one of your units, maybe a red outline or red health bar for enemies and green outline for your own guys. Cause its so fun to see them fight off enemies but its hard to distinguish which ones are your own.
- Also instead of showing all the attack and damage information and stuff all at once you could for example show it in a popup when hovering over the unit. Since I don't need to know that all the time, and it is quite a lot of information. Also icons instead of abbreviations would be great, like sword for attack, heart for health. But I understand you might not have had time for that. Also there are not clear icons for all the stuff you have.
- An icon for the currency would be great too, I saw C and assumed it was cost, but when I pressed it I wasn't sure what I was spending.
- Once I understood all the concepts the game was really fun! I think the only problem you have is how you communicate how the game works. You wrote the rules and a tutorial here in the post, and that definitely helped me. But most people will skip that.
I really liked your way of doing it with cards and how the game is split in two, I think its a super cool game, I really love this style of game and I hope you keep working on it! I think this has huge potential!!
The game is really cool and well finished. I don't know if it's normal but the game has no sound, so the purpose of the game isn't really clear to me. Maybe the game needs a tutorial. This game has a lot of potential :)
Interesting concept! I thing I figured out how the game's played, but had a bit of trouble pushing to the final econ building. I had everything fully upgraded but my units just died too fast!
interesting concept of mixing genres, quite original art, very lacking soundtrack, and even the slightest understanding of what happens in the beginning:)
I feel like I wasn't supposed to be able to make everything auto-spawn by clicking and holding a button, then moving my mouse away from it. I accidentally did this to the "Pray" button, then purposefully did the same with peasants to keep a constant stream of them coming in, then in later waves, just set all the units on auto and no longer had to look at the screen.
Cool concept though. It would be fun to have a bit of strategy involved, rather than just brute forcing, but brute force feels appropriate thematically.
Hey! That's a very addictive game, good job! I find a cheat - you can press LMB on "earn faith" but release it somewhere else and it will auto-earn for you. Unfortunately, I didn't understand why I lose the game. Intuitively I thought I lose only if all my army are dead. But I suddenly lose everytime although there are still a few units alive :( Anyway, thank you for your game!
This is a really great game! I was worried there was something wrong with my speakers because there was no sound but other than that the graphics were really good! I was really confused at first because there was so much going on around the screen and it just immediately started playing, but I was able to figure it out eventually. Like many others said, you can get the Faith to automatically be collected. I'm not sure if that was purposeful or not, but regardless it helped immensely! Thank you for your game :)
Once you get it, it's really good and fun. But you are just thrown to the middle of a blattle with enemies swarming your squad, without even knowing what is what. A slower start would be really beneficial, even a start menu would help.
Also, considering the time and the ammount of gold of the buildings, isn't it more benefitial to just buy cheaper buildings? unless you can't build them fast enough, they seem to be more profitable.
