An incredible amount of content to put together for a jam game. Looks like it was a ton of fun to make as well. I appreciate the easy mode, as the base difficulty is quite high. The inventory management was quite clunky, though it reminded me of some 2000s freeware RPG I played but can't remember the name of.

savolae 2023-10-03 18:48

Great fun, made me laugh many times. Quite difficult, but I'll rather suffer than download the easy mode . I'll have to try it again a couple of times to see if I can keep myself from dying.

Really funny! Great acting everyone!

tamer30 2023-10-03 19:12

I loved it! Very chill and fun)))

jesse-j-jones 2023-10-03 19:26

This was one of my favorites so far! I have a really soft spot for full motion video in games, and you really brought out that charm! <3 Really want to keep playing to see all the cutscenes! Impressive you were able to work with so much video and compositing in a game jam, really enjoyed it!

bellicapelli 2023-10-03 20:59

Huge props for this, it must have taken a lot of effort.

I only played a little bit because I want to stream this to some friends, it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

mechanicallife 2023-10-03 21:08

Got to give it to you, probably the best thing to come out of this entire jam, I loved it!

glowt 2023-10-03 21:09

Really fun and creative. I was looking forward to every cut scene! The core game loop felt like Oregon trail with a fun twist. Hope to se more of your fun creations

animaster 2023-10-03 21:25

Fantastic game, i played a few tries on standart difficulty and didn't make it to the end, but planning to return to this game later. Great job!

braktheman 2023-10-03 21:30

Now this is what we call true innovation

wook 2023-10-04 06:05

Wow! This is probably my favorite entry of the entire jam. fully packed with cutscenes minigames a full trading system and the challenge is there too! you guys knocked it out of the park with this one!

my only suggestion would to have faded the audio out while a person was acting, it got a little obnoxious to hear the same loop over the humorous acting routines!

But still what an awesome entree!

sebi 2023-10-04 19:21

What a great entry, a ton of work must have gone for all the cutscenes, I'm not sure I've seen them all yet! Love the acting! The only bug I found was in trading, you have to move your items after adjusting trader's items.

With a little polish on the UI this could be a full title!

yellowkamel 2023-10-04 20:13

Very funny entry. Thanks for submitting it to my stream!

kankje 2023-10-04 21:36

I love you guys, once again a hilarious entry 🤣

Loved the videos. Gameplay took some getting used to, but I enjoyed it after I got the hang of it

It's quite impressive the amount of content you've managed to cram in, but there are a few issues with the visuals: - Audio is terrible (there is noise and you can tell there was no post processing applied to it) - Greenscreen is really noticeable - The intro cutscene has the background characters slowed down to 2fps if not lower - Acting isn't great (although I think it would have come out a lot better if you had a better script) - As good as your art and animations look (honestly I was surprised by the fluidity of some sprites) the colors aren't that great - The screen is cluttered with UI and it's hard to differentiate elements from the background

Here are some tips on how to improve your videos, if you want to make games in this style in the future: - Apply more effects to blend the greenscreens into images (blur, noise, color grading) - Record a dry take of scenes and play them back when acting (if you have a speaking role, you can have another person listen in on headphones if you're aligned) - Have a microphone somewhere in the scene (audio is far more important than video) - Apply effects to audio (noise reduction, compressor, eq)

Videos aside, the game felt quite confusing at times. I still don't understand how the gambling mechanic works and once I got to the end of the path I didn't know how to "win". Maybe include a simple tutorial in the ld or itch page.

I'm quite interested in what you'll make in the future, keep up the good work

insane amount of content in 3 days, very impressive you guys were able to pull that off

most of the game felt fairly intuitive to me, but I'm still not really sure how fishing is supposed to work - every time it felt like I stayed in the circle & avoided obstacles perfectly, but the fish would just go to the edge of the screen and break the line

fupi 2023-10-06 17:28

Oh lord... this has got to be my favorite game so far! It's just OOZING character! I was very excited to play this one because I know what you guys' gimmick is with the FMVs and stuff, so unique and actually adds to the experience in how charming it is, from the first second I was already smiling. As a former theater kid the acting is just the right amount of cheesy, *mwa*.

The game itself is also very impressive, such a big board, so much content! All of the mechanics did feel a bit unintuitive at first, like the trading mechanic - I traded 25 gold for 1 food once without realizing ;w; - but after you keep going you start to slowly piece together how the game works as a whole. I feel like the UI was made for a bigger screen size than mine though, I'm playing on a 1366x768 laptop and the right-most button in most popup boxes where you make choices ended up being obscured by the status log, the one that shows you if you lost health, etc. Like a few others, I don't understand how fishing works, I'd keep my mouse pressed on the circle and the fish would just go to a corner and the line would break, decided to just avoid all fishing spaces. My play session lasted quite a long time and I met very different characters but unfortunately ended up succumbing to hunger, that'll teach me to learn how to fish....

Here's a recreation of my favorite moment:

@fupi this is ADORABLE thank you!! I am so delighted by this. And I'm glad you appreciate the FMV ridiculousness, it's a lot of fun to do.

joror 2023-10-08 15:54

Really fun and unique presentation! Love the videos. Some of the games can be a bit confusing (the betting one) but all in all I really enjoyed myself.

Well done!

panda-king-976 2023-10-08 16:28

I liked the collection of minigames but the videos don't load(the audio does though) so It's hard to tell what's going on.

funnypumpkin 2023-10-10 20:49

Ive got scammed by fishing game(

pixeltech 2023-10-14 10:49

Very fun and interesting game! I absolutely adore all the zany characters and humor. Your team worked miracles to create this in the time frame.

sibi 2023-10-15 15:07

So much fun and super unique! What an experience! Making deals with the devil, selling my cart for scraps, all to just waste away after accidentally catching a rare insect instead of some much needed fish. Very well done!

egormnc 2023-10-15 19:25

I liked the game and it’s interesting, keep it up

edgeboyo 2023-10-17 20:01

Just wow. How you managed to finish that with the minigames, scenarios and cutscenes, I have no idea. FMV games on LD never fail to disappoint. 10/10 no notes :100:

(well maybe a small one: it would have been cool to be able to scroll around the map to plan out things a little)
