I liked the music, it added a lot to the underwater atmosphere. Also controlling the submarine felt really nice.
The concept made it a bit frustrating to navigate, sometimes a bomb would come seemingly out of nowhere. I think that could be improved by having a set of lives, which could be replenished by collecting hearts - instead of permadeath.

Cool idea and graphics, also the submarine looks really cool.
I like the colour scheme, the death explosion effect, and the way the sonar ping is represented visually. The theme interpretation & mechanics are similar to what I went with (mine is based on radar, rather than sonar). It does seem a bit too difficult (you rarely get sufficient warning of the mines coming for you), but that's common for jam games. The audio is nice as well.

the sonar effect is very cool
To be honest, I'm no further. Maximum record - 5
The visuals and sounds of this game are great! I enjoyed the feeling of not knowing what to expect ahead and still beat the clock. Really fun!

Great game gimmick, overall fun to play a few times. I didn’t manage to score more than 4, because panicked too often not knowing where I was going :D

I really like the idea of sonar vision and gameplay in general. The music is also good, it creates a great atmosphere. My score would be 4.5 if you used the theme.
Really like the idea, and the crazy thing is this game makes the 10 seconds between sonar pulses feel like an **eternity**. Every other game has made it feel like such a short time. Also, I couldn't get past 4 dodecahedrons either.
Love the game mechanic! Not sure the mines even need to be homing... between them, the "invisible" terrain, and treasure that spawns right next to terrain, there's plenty of stuff to accedientally crash into. That said, the only real critical feedback I have is that turning feels weirdly over-responsive based on how heavy the acceleration makes the submarine feel.
@acdimalev We had heavy acceleration and deceleration on the turn, but it was nearly impossible to dodge anything.
UPDATE: my new high score is 9

I like to see the same idea in this jam! But at the same time with another no less interesting implementation. Nice job!

I really liked the general aesthetics and the SFX!

Maaaan I'd really like to know the tech you used to make the green terrain change like that. Is that shader magic or are you animating that some way? Looks really cool whatever you did, your graphics impressed me a lot.
I know the whole concept of sonar in games isn't anything new, but the way you implemented it here is so new and original. The way the terrain goes from blocky to triangular when you get really close just blows my mind. The music is nice too, I happened to get a collectible right as the beat drop so it felt great lol.
Is the game OST uploaded somewhere? It's quite the jam! I would like to add it to my playlist :)

I really liked the level reveal with sonar, and that my information about the level was only available when I was very close and in danger, or that it was rapidly becoming obsolete. Good music, good terrain reveal and fog of war, and a lot of fun. Awesome job!

@mhorth It's done with two passes of a shader that mixes two views based on current visibility. First it mixes the blocky latent map with the current map (and stores that for the next frame), then mixes it with the view around your sub.

Nice work, really liked the interaction between the sonar and near field visuals. A really nice feature that would definitely shine in horror games too!
Great game, well done!

What a fun game and concept! The visuals are very well done as it gets much more grainy once you get somewhere where the sonar could not reach! The explosives are scary when you are not prepaired for them  First I thought I had to collect it and then: 'boom'!
The music is really cool too. I'm not that good at gaming, I got 3 points ^^
Love the graphics! The shader work is really cool here. Good use of the 10 second mechanic as well. Well done!
Very cool game. Loved the audio, gave that 5 stars! Cool shaders and very smooth and intuitive controls. Good job!
It's been a hot minute, but I'm from the "3 Underrated Games" post :)
Man, I kept playing to try to beat your high score but I only got up to three, haha! This was super cool. I saw a few comments say that it was too difficult but I disagree; I think it was just enough to make it fun & interesting. I really enjoyed navigating around the world you guys built & it was super satisfying to get better at steering every time I restarted the game. I also loved the way the submarine moved, the artistic direction (so cool how things phase in and out of clarity), and the sound. One suggestion would be to make the bombs a different color. Might make it ever so slightly easier to differentiate them against the background.
Otherwise, fantastic entry, congratulations :)
Lastly, and I hate to do this, but I wanted to plug my game for a rating as well (https://ldj.am/$303168). Any feedback would be appreciated as this was our first ever Ludum Dare. :D

Thanks for submitting your game to stream!
This game was weirdly sooooooooooo stressful (in a good way), haha. I really liked how the mines would sneak up on you, and would often still be obscured even after a radar ping reveals it. Very nice job!
