A nice wholesome game with a very lovely artstyle! The models are really cute, and the drawn effects look great.

I was curious about the engine/tools used, but I can't access the source code, maybe the repository is set to private?

Haha, really fun idea, nice to stuff others in the holes! I liked the audio. Github link is not working for me, error 404, and html game is a bit laggy.

So cute! I love the concept, and the art and music are great! Love it!

@mensio @spig Hi, sorry about that! It usually defaults to public for me but it defaulted to private this time, no clue why. It's public now! And thanks for the feedback.

My game engine was Unity 2020.3.17f, my render pipeline was the URP, I used Blender for 3D assets, Krita for 2D assets and some of the textures, Substance Painter for other textures, Audacity for cleaning up sound effects (which I made myself in a quiet room using my phone microphone), and Ableton Live Lite for the music.

I survived 93 seconds only. Tough game! I wonder what it would play like with a top down/isometric camera.

Art style is obviously a highlight for a compo game! Cute sounds too!

Thanks for the upload!

This was a cute game! I liked the squid and the sound was really well styled. It was funny that you had to stuff other creatures in the wholes haha.

Super cute game. The only issue I had was that the camera was sometimes not where I wanted to be and moved around a lot. Cameras in 3D are hard though. Other than that it's a great game.

Fun game. I really liked the art style and suction sfx. Great job!

Really like the sound and graphics! For some reason, the sountrack and game mood remind me of Pacman Adventure from PS1 (and i looove this game). It's a impressive result for such little time. I've faced just one issue when i was playing, the camera is a little bit confuse sometimes when i need to turn around with the captured creatures. I think that this kind of game can work better if it has a topdown or isometric camera. But even tho, i really love it! It's very cute <3

Cute game, the camera if a bit frustrating. Out of curiosity, did you try a static camera ?

Good job !

hinesite 2022-04-05 02:35

I found the camera to be questionable.

I'm not sure if the octopus is a genius or an idiot for trying to block the tide pool with fish.

Silly octopus!

@arscene No I didn't but that's a good idea! I usually develop for VR so in 3D I tend to default to "camera is at or near the player's head" and miss other potential solutions. Next time I'll try other camera types too :D

Cute little game oozing with style! The movement and camera took a bit of getting used to, but afterwards it was a fun experience overall. Great work on the visuals and music as well! Even without dialogue or anything I can just imagine what's going on in the protagonist's head because of how everything moves and feels. Overall great submission!

Such a cute game! Had to battle the camera a few times, but really enjoyed it. Just thinking of those poor little creatures getting stuffed in the holes :)

linus-lindberg 2022-04-06 10:56

Lovely art, nice music and a fun game!

lazzor 2022-04-12 19:09

Okay, from start to finish, this is great! Fantastic job all around, from the graphics, sound and gameplay, everything feels complete and responsive! The only minor inconvenience for me would be the camera positioning when you are at the edge of the pool, which makes it a bit hard to see. But other that that, great job!

The tune really fits the game. Graphics are really cute!. With more polish in gameplay this could be a good minigame.

sleepystudios 2022-04-19 14:41

The art style in this game is really really good. The fish designs had a lot of variety so you never felt like you were always picking up the same one. I really liked the sound/music and how that fit with the whole aesthetic. Like others have said, the camera was a bit janky and I wish I could choose to launch the fish into the holes myself rather than it being automatically done for me. Nice work!

teto 2022-04-19 20:58

Such an original take on the theme and so adorable! So nicely polished with all the different fish, water movement and sounds. As other have said, the camera does let you down and I would have preferred to only have it rotate when I wanted it to. I do like the camera moving with the player though rather than just being an overall view of the pool so that you can't always see fish escaping from the holes and makes the game a little more interesting and panicky. I'm sure you would have experimented more with more time!

Other than the camera, the whole game is very player friendly with lots of audio and visual gameplay feedback. Things like the exclamation marks indicating the gaps are small but super helpful things that you don't really appreciate until they aren't there but are so easy to forget about when you're developing a game since it's obvious to the creator how to play the game. So well done for making it supoer easy to just pick up and play! Took almost no time at all to figure out and get into.

The graphics are incredibly impressive. So smooth and beautiful colour palette. If you created a virtual fish tank, I feel like I could happily just sit and watch that for a while. The music fit well and never got annoying and I like the pitch variatrion in the sound effects too

Overall, absolutely amazing compo submission that I can't imagine how you managed to pull off alone in that time!

The gameplay and art style make this game feel like a minigame in a bigger experience - like Mario Party in a way :D

lazy-fox 2022-04-19 21:51

Very good take on a theme. Loved how the water visually represents "the timer".
