Pixel magic by Cyangmou, beautiful as always!
The puzzles could have been a bit harder imho. great idea, cool graphics, nice sound tho. I wish there was an ending screen.
Very nice graphics, and nice mood overall. The theme is well respected. On the feedback that I could give : - The Audio mixing when changing character is a bit rough and that diserve the audio - When the fire guy moves on rocks it stops and this is slightly frustrating - I did not really play it as a puzzle game but more as a die and retry, I don't really know why...
(But this is just nitpicking :D the game is great and feels polish)
Really good game but awesome graphics ! I wish that the puzzle were getting harder the more you pass level
The pixel art is amazing ! One of the prettiest game I've seen so far ! Gameplay is original. Like mentioned above the audio transitions feel a bit rough. Really solid entry !
The art is beautiful. I would like to play more challenging levels, but I understand, that there is little to no time during jam. Great game overall :)
@tomtomgome Thanks for the feedbacks, much appreciated! We patched the audio after reading your comment :) (and i think the die and retry bit is very fair, this means we have to do better on the puzzle side next time)
Awesome entry (my favorite so far)! Pixels are delightful. Music too. The yin yang in the overgrown maze atmosphere really works well. At first I thought the levels were much to easy. But some get harder later on and I had to restart a couple of times to get some of them right. I guess the difficulty could be more progressive? FYI. The game crashed on HTML (firefox) after maybe 6 or 7 levels..
@fishtaod Oh no, sorry about the crash. Thanks for reporting it, i'll try to have a look asap, the native builds should work better in the mean time. And cheers for the kind comments :)
Interesting concept and well introduced. It got clear very fast what the mechanics are, so they work intuitively. The pixel art is (of course) great! I also liked the audio a lot, though the transitions were a bit harsh. What i didn't feel challenged with were the levels. Mostly the transition happened at exactly the moment i needed it to happen, without me planning for it. I didn't understand what the golden orbs were for - i think it is a challenge collectible. I hope it doesn't sound too harsh, but the only level i found interesting was the one where you'd set the grass tiles on fire so a transition at that time would roast the airy guy. Increasing the difficulty here would be great, with more mechanics that interestingly connect the two modes you have. Right now it feels like too many levels doing the same thing. A proper ending would be great, recounting the orbs you collected (like 23 of 30) - you want to reward your players for pushing that, i think :)
Not bad. Switching music annoying. I think its better to play single track for whole game.
Great work and amazing graphics. I found a bit repetitive after a while, but I really enjoyed it. Great work, guys!
@rongo-matane Thanks a lot for the feedbacks, don't worry about being a little harsh, this is exactly the kind of criticism we are looking for ;) To answer your questions, the orb were planned to act as keys unlocking the exits, but this is not working currently (working on a fix right now).
Very super cool game. I really like the concept, I wish levels was a little bit harder ;) Audio is really nice too !
Great puzzle game. The slowdown when you change forms got a little bit annoying in the later levels, but the game's graphics and audio are top notch so it's not too annoying. I feel like the game started out a bit slow, but the later levels were really enjoyable, especially starting with 'There and Back Again'. Nice work!
Beautiful art and mood. Gameplay easy to learn and good learning curve. A nice puzzle game with a retro Zelda touch. Great potential if you consider adding more types of tiles and / or mechanics. Definintely a great game !
Wow! This game is one of the best ones in this jam for sure! Pixel art is **GORGEOUS**, even the hand-drawn subtle anti-aliasing in the logo, the animations, the background, everything looks absolutely beautiful! I also very like the direction you took with putting the game in some ancient mayan ruins environment, which gives it a calming and mysterious mood. I love drawing pixel-art myself, so I am in an absolute awe of your game's art.
In terms of gameplay, I really like the concept of changing elements. Some of the levels required more thought than others, but the overall difficulty progression was rather slow and I think that only 2 or 3 levels required me to try more than once :) Which is not necessarily a bad thing, because I'd rather finish a game than abandon playing it due to too harsh difficulty spikes. Overall the game was very enjoyable to play.
In terms of audio, I love the soundtrack you've created, it matches the game's mood perfectly and every sound is fitting right where it belongs. I only had some issues with stuttering music when changing elements, and with me sometimes going quickly across the levels, I only had like 0.5s of each music theme which made the whole thing kinda wonky  But well, these are some really small details, the sounds are top notch :ok_hand:
A 5/5 game. Seriously.
The game looks beautiful and I enjoyed the sounds. Only critique is the puzzles were a little easy.
Really simple but nice mechanic and polished LD submission! A little bit sokoban-ish somehow and the mechanic is very well integrated in the game world - eg setting grass on fire, when walking over it
I'm not much for puzzles, but it was mostly easy enough... then I really struggled with "There and Back Again". But everyone is different. Maybe post-jam you can add something that lets you know how far along you are. The music and sound effects were great, but like others commented I also found the implementation didn't totally work with so many fast switches. Nice work on the pixel art, especially the perspective on the surrounding frame. Good creativity on having a variety of levels to make use of the mechanic. And a neat concept to fit the "unstable" theme. Overall well done.
Great and polished game. Pixelart was awesome and I loved the alterating versions of the same music track! 😊
Puzzles were mostly very easy but still satisfying when you find out how to tackle some tricky parts.
Veeery interesting puzzle concept. I liked it a lot, especially the later levels where you can not just spam left/right up/down to transform. You managed to put a lot of levels, good job. I'd love to see minimum moves per level and other cool puzzle perks f witch you surely thought. Overall, pretty good, Congrats.
I really like this tie into the theme with an emotionally unstable person's projection. I can see this getting really complicated, especially if there were eventually different personalities to have to juggle and needing to think many steps in advance. Great job on this and I was surprised by the amount of levels in this.
Love the pixel art in this! Wish I was able to check it out sooner.
