I did enjoy this alot great work
ups that was by accident
Liked the graphs,gj!
Pretty noice!
like the music
Really got hinged on killing mosquitos. Cool sound design! Feels like reading Lovecraft, unstable indeed :)
Very 'interesting' game. I liked the voice acting.
Great style! It's definitely unstable with mosquitos
i have no idea what just happened to me, please send help, i am traumatized by this experience, HELP
It's a wonderful kinetic novel, however I feel like the music at the end is a bit loud. I had to turn my volume down to 3% just so I could listen to the good music. Other than that, excellent voice acting, enjoyed most moments within the game.
Very nice voice narration and music!
Great work!I like the music lol
The narration was great, very innovative!
The voice acting is amazing!
@markveligod @gerox @moonblast @zack-andre @meita @samarthmp5002 @vsi @parttimeindie much appreciated, thank you!
@marius-png glad you liked it. Can you elaborate on innovative?
@alexthehuman2 hmm... maybe I'm so used to turning volume up/down (whilst rec/mixing), so that detail slipped my mind. Thank you for playing! Actually, we wanted to make quite an interesting stuff with dolby-effect, implementing Wwise, etc. But had to cut on this, the code just wouldn't recognize our needs. Anyway, maybe the loud music can count also as - within the theme - unstabled).
@enderswype is that a sarcasm?)) But the experience is real-life based, quite traumatizing.
@alex-chertilin especially when this mosquito could be the only one - immortal)). Thanks!
@kamuniaft Lovecraft? Interesting... We surely tried to make some suspense without screamers. Glad you liked it!
@the-lame-brain we feel that still!
This is art... unstable art.
I really like the narration and the voice acting ^^ Nice use of the theme btw ^^
Haha cool idea, I like the voice acting as well
I really enjoyed it! I love the visuals, I love the lyrics and voices, I really love the ending music! Thank you for this experience! :)
I'm kinda scared
Loved it! It was a funny trip.
@xschaumix unstable art seems to be the core of our line of work).
@tardif-adrian @0x-void-x0 thank you for playing and the motivation!
@matlab thanks for hearing through our unstable mosquito song)).
@its-capp I feel you...
@gord10ahmet Thank you! Imagine that this story is quite real... (well, almost)
That voice acting was everything <3 Nice looking game and love the music at the end!
Haha, the vocal effect so funny cannot stop laughing
i have no idea what am i playing, but the audio quality is really good for a jam game and art is decent. Good game!
@yikescloud that's some real vocal recording;).
@marc-antoine-girard thank you! We vox our best).
@bgdc glad you liked it overall, thanks!
LMAO that was really fun audio and atmosphere was perfect :smile:
Кажется, я чувствую себя теперь комароукушенным и укушеннокомариным. О ужас.
Спасибо за игру!
Your really nailed the feeling of being haunted by a mosquito
I don't really know how to play this. Still interesting, but also weird game. Is this art or a game? Smashing incoming flies when the voice is loudest would be fun. I were waiting to mosquito appear on the screen to avoid being brain eaten, but did it in vain. Many people around the world know this situation; while you have a single loud mosquito in the quiet room and you try to fall asleep or to focus something else, you can't find it in the darkness and hope it ain't not hungry...
the work of an insane person - in a good way!
@potkirland @joonamo thanks for feeling the mood of our game!
@xpoho Nice worldwordplaydisorder). Thanks.
@hiisileiri games can be art, and most are. However, the idea of making a bouncing sound with different loudness and hunting for it, when it meets the trigger, was in development, we thought about this. But the code went wrong, so we had to make it simplier a bit, and not ruin the concept. The brain eating thing is more like a metaphor (in my own personal view Player is or becomes a mosquito), but there's an open ending to it, anyway. So, it's a bit more complicated in a kind of thinking way, but the easiest as we play it. We believe, this art (or game) story is quite finished without any macabre, the way we wanted it. Thanks for playing our stuff!
@piper-thompson well, thank you! We can be much more insane... still in a good way;).
As a Mosquito aficionado, I am appalled by the idea of a mosquito hive. But I am also very impressed by the outro song. I had no idea what to expect going into this, but it definitely wasn't what I got.
Good job creating a very unique experience. Something that I'm almost certain no one here has ever experienced before. I do wish it had a bit more gameplay though. Like hillsileiri mentioned, it would have been more immersive if you had to kill the mosquito each night as it approached, perhaps delaying the inevitable brain meal. It would help attach the player to the world, and the situation of being in the room with the mosquito.
Interesting little psychological experience here. Quite liked the sound design as well.
Great art, banging track, spooky premise. Nice work!
Congratulations on so effectively conveying the first-person experience of "unstable"!
@skleembof I'd love more gameplay too, believe me! But we managed our best this time. Well, despite the problem with the code (which never worked) and huge ambience ambitions. But we're stepping on it, learning to make more of a gameplay, not just a unique experience). Thank you for playing, though, our game!
@sam-onella a little one, but may haunt you many nights)). Thanks!
@animawish @junjunlowpoly So glad you got to manage through this work of ours! We really tried to share some real story behind...
The art is super nice, as the atmosphere (music, sound effects, voice, timing). I felt that mosquito buzz'ing in my head!
A longer story would be nice too, but who knows how long could we'd survive with that buzzing sound? (Without going even madder, anyway.) Great work!
I really enjoyed the narrative of this piece--it is definitely art! I wasn't entirely sure if there was anything after the song and pharaoh art, so hopefully I didn't miss anything :)
You've definitely stretched the bounds of what can be considered for a "Game Jam" (I read your latest blog posting, and I think I caught some philosophical questions of what makes a "game"). Your entry is at least interactive, but my definition of a game might be more strict (I wrote about it in a blog of my own). Of course, we can both be right. If we accept only the strict definitions, we close ourselves to new opportunities!
Thanks for sharing this :) It was definitely unique and worthwhile!
@mirianbr thanks, we're working on mastering our skills! The idea was to make it as short as it could be, but save some kind of a loop thing with an open ending. And the buzzing, aye, otherwise we'd have to make a different game, I suppose, for it would be hard to play and less fun if the sequence continues.
@hawkin well, it's a good tip, actually! I'll think about adding something after the end (credits, if any) in our further projects. Maybe). We aimed for some animation but decided that the sound makes the picture move here. Though, we missed on the mosquito eyes in the end, them moving to the music would be nicer. I think, I understand what you mean by Game - and at this point some of the real game moments weren't implemented, well, because we're no coders at all, but I tried to do more, really). However, I feel the idea of a game should always bear the open mind. However, I had oh so many brainstorms throughout the working life, so at least I understand this - we can be everything and let it fly, but we should really learn to "kill our darlings". Then, even if jamming, there might be made some fulfilled narrative. Thank you for this conversation!)
great art piece that hit the theme well, loved the ending track.
That was summink else. I love it. Lynchian! Reminded me of Eraserhead. Music was cool, voice acting was great, and art was superb. The music continued on for a while at the end, I wasn't sure how long it would go on for? Great experience and narriative.
Weirdo but noice, very unique experimental game!~ Like the art style too
