Awesome little dungeon crawler. Graphics were simplistic but they fit very well to the atmosphere of the game. Also nice variation in the enemy design.
@linus-lindberg Did the trapdoor not open in the final room? There's a pretty clear ending, sorry it didn't work properly :grimacing:
Yeah, for me there wasn't a trap door in the final room... or I might have missed it.
I liked it, but sometimes the enemies would jump off the board and then you could not progress into the next level. I also used Godot to make my game, I think it's fun to see other people also using it.
This is a fun little crawler, but lets be honest. I had to leave a comment and rate you up just for that dang walk animation. Serious, I loved it!
Cool game. I really liked the cohesiveness of whole game. The gamepad support was really nice. The isometric perspective was confusing.
Now there's a great walking animation! Little bug report: got stuck in the second room, one of the jumping enemies went into a wall and I could dispose of it.
Really fun! Love the music and the art. The title logo was really impressive! Enemies are also pretty unique and fun to kill
heyyy man, nice game! I really wanted to conitnue but theres a bug with an enemie, hes out of screen and I coudlnt kill him to go the next stage. This happened on the mini boss stage, the snake one. Very good game! Congrats for work =) sapo
Cool, really polished and fun, and the overall gameplay is quite smooth too!
Nice game! The enemies jumping off screen was a big issue though. I felt like the difficulty ramped up pretty fast as well once the shooting enemies started being introduced.
Really like the mood/world building in this. The action was challenging but fair. Did get soft locked after the first boss, but still had a fun time up to that point. And kudos on the landing animation on the enemy frogs - super satisfying. Great work!
Nice game! Also ran into the soft lock issue, but I liked the art and sound and overall style of everything! Nice work!
✔️ Overall the enemy design, from the art and animation to the attack cycles was really good.
✔️ A large amount of content.
✔️ Nice slow-mo effect when you get hit.
➖ The glitch where the jumper enemies would get stuck in a wall meant I had to restart multiple times.
Nice variety, level design, music and art. The player walking animation is super charming and funny! The game is considerably deep and polished, especially for a compo entry, very impressive!
The only other issue I ran into (other than the hoplite "soft lock") was that attacking using the LMB didn't work every time, but once I switched to arrow keys + E it worked fine.
Having to start all over again when dying put me off and I wasn't able to finishing the game after playing for 20-30 minutes. I understand it's a design choice and I can definitely get behind it, I'm just not very good at killing all the things and want to play and review more games to help people get to 20 ratings
Overall great entry, good job!
I love the art and sound, it's really juicy. I also really appreciate all the little stuff that you managed to squeeze in, like the slowdown effect when you get hit, the arrow pointing to the baddies, and the screen transitions. Lots of polish!
I did unfortunately experience the bug where a hoplite (love the name, lol) got off the screen, I think that would be something that is fair to fix post-jam in my opinion. Besides that, I kinda wished there was some kind of circle ground indicator for where the hoplites would land, and my only other gripe would be that using WASD with E for the attack is awkward (although I ended up using the arrow keys because of that).
Those issues are pretty nitpicky though, this is a really smooth and fun experience. Nice work!
@apg @huitre @felo07 @dragonzbw @echo-gameworks @fueelin @rngames @pijamar @wheffle Thanks everybody for the heads up about the hoplite issue, I think it's fixed. I've also added an 'easy mode' (toggle with 'p') if you missed out on the minotoad before and want to witness all it's toady glory.
i have no idea what to do :( 1.png
@rongo-matane did you do the tutorial? you have to kill all enemies before the hatch to the next floor opens. In the tutorial, you destroy a dummy enemy to open the hatch. There are three dummy enemies in that screenshot, you have to destroy them to open the hatch
@markopolodev ah that makes sense. I think i got into a strange state somehow. I went into the right hole at first and was in a level with many frogs. I didn't understand what to do because i didn't know that i could attack yet, so i died (my fault of course). I then was in the main room again and started the tutorial, which led into the screenshotted room that said that those are only dummies. Not sure how that happened :D
Gonna give it another go, this time with attacking :D
@rongo-matane oops, that's another bug, sorry about that! if you skip the tutorial once, it never shows you the tutorial again (regardless of the ladder you take :grimacing:). As a workaround, if you restart the game / refresh the page, you should be able to actually see the tutorial. Thanks for letting me know!

I'm a sucker for isometric dungeon crawlers, and this was no exception. It's crazy what you were able to push out in such a short amount of time. A real testament to a tight scope and a polished idea. Congrats on this one!!
