Wow! Super deep gameplay! Loved the controls and the entire atmosphere! The tutorial situations are also great to teach you about the mechanics like the pirates (and the the spawning of the space station afterwards, nice).

Very tightly knit experience, I liked this a lot. I would say that the fragments of astroids caused me issues even during the tutorial though. Nothing gamebreaking though. Well done!

Gorgeous game, but also frustrating at times. You lose health even if you barely tink an asteroid. All warnings are the same sound effect, so if pirates attack while your storage is full, or fuel is low, it's not clear that there's a new danger, especially if you're in the shop which obscures the mini-map. The amount of stuff there is crazy impressive for 48 hours though! I particularly enjoyed the little orange astronauts that pour out when you die.

Wow this is a really nice and polish title. Piloting the ship feels great, and I love the drilling mechanic. Minor quibble that "esc" during the space station menu doesn't close the menu, it exits the game entirely. (I do this in my jam game too, but it's worse when there's UI on screen and so much time investment.)

I will probably play this one some more after I try some more titles.

Cool little space game. There is potential for further development. :)

The classic astroids combined with sim elements, The tutorial is really nice. Could use some balancing, but overall great job.

I like the controls and the ambience. It would be even better with some music.

nerzal 2021-04-27 19:01

Music - was missing :D i guess some breakound music would have added a nice touch to the game The sounds were on point, thrusters sounded like thrusters and well lasers made "pew pew pew", which is what i expect from lasers.

The controlls felt suprisingly good, so nice job on that.

The pirates seem to be "away" for a long time at the beginning, but came back for a revenge soon. If i had payed more attention, i would have been able to pew pew pew them down with my laserguns.

The tutorial was well made and teached me the important lessons, the gun was self explanatory, also all other powerups were self explanatory.

I liked the fact, that you can also shoot down asteroids, that might help in some situations.

Use of fuel and health felt reasonable.

All in all very enjoyable and relaxed game.

What a brilliantly fresh take on lunar lander! I enjoyed learning the difficult controls, and working my way up to dominating space. After I bought everything I closed the game, I hope I didn't miss anything. This game also reminded me a bit of good old Subspace which was a nice multiplayer space ship shooter. The scope, polish and balance of the game is spectacular for a compo game. If there was one thing - I wish the game gave me some reward for fighting the baddies, like maybe one of them drops a golden rock? Either way - it was a pleasure, thank you for the game.

i think the first wave/s of pirates were a bit much, perhaps a slower ramp in difficulty? otherwise very good!

My favourite part of Space Dig was exploring the universe, and mining rocks with my butt. I did not enjoy the duck farting sounds when my health was low. Great game, great controls, pretty interesting take on the theme!

baconn00 2021-04-28 11:00

Love your butt mining game. The UI kinna hard to click tho. I like the pirate chase scene, very hard but its feel amazing. Great job!

This game is fun I liked it a lot :D.

maniulo 2021-04-28 22:01

Nice game, was surprised when tutorial ended and the full game unlocked - I fully expected that little area to be the full game! And then I was surprised one more time when I found myself on the run from the pirates. Kind of a bummer that all my honest salary went to buying fuel and repairs and I couldn't afford a lser. Well, I guess that's space capitalism for me.

Oh, and also nice little touch on the astronaut animation in the beginning, really liked it.

pijamar 2021-04-29 04:17

Very complete, especially for a 48h game! You even added an in-game tutorial, nice! I always struggle with this type of controls, but I think you nailed it, I found it pretty satisfying and easy to fly that charming little ship around

antti-tiihonen 2021-04-29 06:11

Ohhh nice. The controls were awesome. A nice blend of precision and trickiness which is a great vibe for a game about maneuvering among an asteroid field. A lot of the more complex jam games can be overwhelming but here the tutorials lead you to enjoy the game at a near perfect tight pace.

The combat felt slightly awkward. I think the enemies attack could have used more feedback and anticipation. It would be nice to see and hear their weapons charge for like a half a second before they shoot so that you could dodge more efficiently. Nevertheless it was a great, well rounded game. Good job!

sam-wallach 2021-04-29 06:25

Very satisfying to control, good tutorials, and overall really fun game. The alarm sound is a bit irritating, but other than that the game was great!

Hello @lawrence

As promise, I finally had time to play your game on stream :) Here is a link to the correct place in the video: https://www.youtube.be/watch?v=Sx1MQ445u7k&t=412s

I really enjoyed your game, it reminds me a lot of void expanse, in a good way

The controls are really good once I understood I could reverse hehe. I would love a slower progression on the pirates though, but I'm sure that with a bit more training I could survive longer.

Congratulation, really cool game!
