i like the atmosphere. I think its a little bit to harsh. the jump is quite slow, and pixel tight leaps are very punitive.
However it is a really nice game

Great job !! The light effects are very beautiful. And the rigid controls, the darkness, the music and the sound reinforce the feeling of oppression.
@mightycode and @tontonpizza ty for the comments it really helped me.
It's really nice) Very good result for the first LD
Awesome game! Love the lighting! Neat entry C:
@flower and @doswosh ty for comments, really appreciate it.
Good but hard!
cool game! I can see the style of BlackThornProd in your art :D
Difficult, but thats what kept me playing! :) The light mechanic is a good touch. Nice atmosphere to the game.
Great job for solo dev!
Nice entry, found the game quite hard though. The lighting is neat. The jumps were a bit too slow and didn't reach that far up which makes nearly all the obstacles needing a double jump. Good job on that game nonetheless.
@lausemand yeah, I tried to make it difficult because I knew I could make only 1 level at the time...
@simogecko Yea there is, but I'm looking forward to learn to draw :D
@lukel Ty :D
@mrsylar59 Thank you for some problems for my game, I will defiantly look more about controlling mechanics later. Thank you for playing my game!
LIMBO style? ;) I can vote for graphics only, just because I can't play due you propose windows build only.
5 out of 5 for graphics, love the visual style :) Its a little bit hard but i enjoyed it
The error margins on the jumps are definitely a bit fine. After the little tutorial level a new and core mechanic is introduced, while the difficulty is simultaneously increased. Not good. The art and music is very nice. The art mixes with the gameplay style, but the music seems to be geared more to a relaxed game.
Really nice game, even if it's a bit hard for me. Coo graphics and mood, well done.
@andrey-ugolnik Nah not limbo, but it looks like :D, Anyways sorry for windows only build, totally forgot about others :D
@cayleblucas ty :)
@kubenexion ty u :D
@kale-the-quick ty for tips. Yeah, I know about the difficulty, but I haven't got much time for level design so I thought let's make it hard :D. But for other projects It won't repeat, I know It's not the best Idea. Thank you for review :D.
I like the graphics and the music. It creates a good mood. It was hard but I think it was on point. Only suggestion I can give is don't make an installer for this type of competitions. We need to get quick access to your game to vote. Especially if it's a small game, please consider a web version.
First off, I agree with axavian. I also agree with everyone else, the jump is too low, I sadly cannot pass the tutorial part. I love the tutorials, but I think they should be introduced in a safe environment, here the environment is a bit punishing. Besides all that, I love the graphics, I also went for the minimalistic style as well so Im all for it. I think you can tweak the height of the jump and put it in an update log, like version 1.1 updates jumps' height, and I dont think people would mind that at all. Let me know if you do that so I can get back and try to see more of the game. It does look very promising, GJ!
Great graphics and mood. Nice job. As everyone else points out, jump could use some work. Great entry either way.
Cool graphics and mood, very coherent.The difficulty is a very sensitive topic, especially when you have 15 minutes to balance it (haha). I have same issue with my game. Solid entry overall.
You need more practice to sustain long hours, I did 16 hrs first day and 17 the other. Making games is fun, so times passes.
I liked the bg music, it was pretty scary. It was pretty hard to perform the jumping and landing in the right place, they were very stressing for me. I liked the atmosphere and the graphics.
I loved the tense and mysterious atmosphere. However my run ended pretty quick because of the clumsy controls and LIVES. Like, they were used 2 decades ago. Why does every game HAVE to have lives??? So anyway, the concept, art and audio are good, but the gameplay is bad. Try working on that. Try making movement fun and easy.
Nice music, nice use of the theme, a good game !
@nnnikki not my entry but I got curious at your comment. Do you mean LIVE in a way that you die and the game restarts? I mean what else can be done if you fall off a platform? The only other solution I can think of that is more forgiving is rewinding time..
EDIT: I havent passed the tutorial level at the time I left that comment, now that I passed the tutorial, I get you. LIVES should not be there..
I loved the mood of this game. and the humor in the tutorial screen as well. The way the ludum dare 42 text appears near the end of the tutorial had a kind of cinematic opening credits feel to it. '
I think the jump was a little too weak to me. I felt like if i didnt perfect my double jumps i would die every time. Congrats on completing your first Jam
@axavian thank you for playing it. Yeah, I did just zip right now. I tried to make other builds for WebGL and mac and Linux, but my Unity is bugged, so it doesn't work :(
@nam-nguyen Thank you for playing, sorry for hard tutorial :D, I think my mistake was that I didn't give other people to try it and for me, it was really easy. I tried to change the jump force, but I figured it out that I messed up whit whole movement mechanics, I don't want to change it because It would need to redesign my all levels. And I uploaded a bit easier tutorial you can check. Anyways if you need I can give you the game with unlimited lives.
@ghostgoatsgames thank you for playing my game. Yeah, the jump mechanics need a lot of work :D
@tomeks Thank you for playing the game !!! I agree that I need to be more friendly with a long job, I'm 16 so I think I have a lot of time to learn it :D
@welliton thank you for a review !!!
@nnnikki More I read the comments more I agree with you, I could make unlimited health and give the player to enjoy the game, besides the game was hard. Anyways thank you for the review.
@ryomayonnaise Thank you :D
@masterkrepta Thank you, for the review :D
@biebras I loved the humor in the game and the art style also. Congrats on ur first Ludum Dare game jam. Just very hyped to tell u that i too followed blackthornprod for tutorials and it is my first LD game jam too. Kudos to u.
@biebras hey so the tutorial is now easier right? I could try it again
Edit: Figure out that you havent changed the tutorial, but I somehow magically passed the tutorial haha. However, thats also as far as I could get. I die constantly at the beginning of the next level. RAGEEEE
Challenging gameplay. The part with the flash light really makes you fell fear, which is very good, it seems anything can happen in the dark. I also like the messages in the walls, there is a lot of story telling potential in those. Although I just suck too much in platform games that I could not finish the part with the flashlight, I had a pretty good time. Also the effects you added when the player dies are nice and soothe the frustration a bit. Btw I love to see games that make people rage quit in new different ways on youtube, it will be fun to see people playing this one. Nice entry and congratulations for all your work and effort.
@abhis1kadian thank you :D
@nam-nguyen Yup wrong file :D
@velvetlobster thank you for playing my game, anyways it would be really fun to watch other players playing it, as I know that I'm the only one who passed it :d
Nice atmospheric audio and setting. Well done for a briliantly layed out tutorial. Well done alos on making a playable game. From personal experience, my game was not playable at all.
Here is some feedback:
- I feel the jump should be a lot more responsive - I feel like the flashlight should start bigger in the first level. + at later levels you can decrease the area to introduce higher difficulty.
Great work nevertheless.
@mza Thank you for playing my game :D, yeah the jump control needs some improvement and I like your Idea about flashlight :D
nice art work :thumbsup: full ratings for graphics and mood and quite tough
@prajwal thank you
Nice game, the graphics are pretty nice, pretty fun too, although the jump... that needs to be fixed :(
Nice game, thank you!
Tried to rate, but no Mac or HTML version.
The mood was very nice and I really liked the dying animation. The game was quite hard however, it would be better to have it curve up.
Audio in this game was a blast for me and hooked me to beat it. Very interesting take on the theme, very innovative, audio in this game made a perfect mood and atmospere. Thanks for the experience
@maroovan did you beat it?
Cool graphics, great intro, but waaaay too hard, and I also don't get, what it has got to do with the theme.
@devemil Yeah it's hard, but about the theme is that sometimes we need to go out of comfort zone and fight for our happiness and future, so for me out of space is the moment when you can't hold it in your life and you have to change something in your life.
Love the contrast you created with your lights and level setup! I'm a fan of how you incorporated your level setup with a strong design and game mechanics. The music is also very good. Great job on this!
