Holy balls! The amount of polish is absolutely nuts! The visuals are extraordinary and I'm definitely gonna be snooping in the source files for inspiration :). The sound is beautifully ominous and creepy. The mood is incredible and I really did feel like an AI taking down an entire ship.
I'm absolutely stunned that you guys managed to create this in just 3 days. Crazy. I experienced basically no bugs (there was a floating corpse after killing a guy on the elevator thing) and everything felt so fluid and smooth. Incredibly well done. Good on ya! :)
Great game had a lot of fun playing it, took me some time to complete it, some minor bugs goin on there. Bugs are as followed: Cant hide behind boxes with spacebar, s was the key to fake being dead not q. The soldiers walk right beside u for quiet some time, if u stand in them. The battery is really really hard to pick (somtimes impossible?) Maybe because the requirement is to kill everybody by possessing them?) Lost one session, because I pressed the fake death key while picking up the battery, which resulted in me not bein able to stan up again. Keep up the great work, awesome game.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Also, I accidentally opted out of the graphics voting when I didn't mean to. That should be fixed now.
Great mood, great graphics and sound. Love point and click puzzles. Wish there was more!
This game is nicely designed. It is fun and strategic. It really makes you plan our your moves. Like others mentioned, there are some bugs, for example I could not get past the box after I used it to kill two enemies. The sound design is really effective - it is creepy and kind of gives me a "The Thing" meets "Abe's Odyssey" vibe. It is pretty tough too so I wouldn't worry about not getting enough time to do more levels. Overall, one of the best LD entries I've ever played.
The game was nicely made, with nice, simple graphics and a clean HUD. The sound worked well with the Sci-Fi horror theme. It made me feel like a facehugger.
However, the easiest way to clear the course was not by strategically plan the attack, but rather to just sprint carelessly towards the enemies and possess them, making guns and 'playing dead' seem like redundant features. There were also a few annoying bugs. For example: when I possesed an enemy while standing on the elevator I fell through the elevator and died. I was also not able to shoot over the dead bodies with the gun, as it seemed like there was still a large collider over the body. Lastly, which has also been mentioned by many above, the ingame hotkey instructions were incorrect.
Despite this, the game was still very enjoyable to play, and would there be more levels to clear along with some minor bug fixes I would definately play more.
@Landberglife Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I changed the keys last minute to be more user friendly but forgot to change the in game descriptions for them. Oops. As for the bugs, looking in to those now, as well as ways to make sprinting in less.. effective. The elevator bug is new to me, hopefully I can recreate it and fix it.
Spectacular game! Top ten material for sure. The mood is incredible, and the whole "old tv" shader greatly adds to the effects and sci-fi elements.
@futil No problem, this it really is a good game and I do hope that you finish you planed levels even if the Jam is over :)
Sir this game so very good to be a jam game. Just add some more levels to it and I am here ready to buy it.
Wow, this is simply amazing. Some wonky graphics stuff when killing someone on an elevator, but otherwise an awesome entry. This is the kind of game that deserves to be more fleshed out and sold to the public! Great work, love the aesthetic.
Great game. It looks stunning. I really like the style, and the animations look awesome. Love the mood of the game. Well done making all this in just three days.
Man this is really really good. Great art, great sound, love the story and gameplay. Terrific unified aesthetic. Really impressive. I felt like the controls were a bit weird to click on things and then use the same mouse button to move camera, maybe right click and drag to move camera? And maybe have the camera follow the player when not being moved or repositioned by the mouse. But overall, really really good.
What a great 'vibe' this game has! Really neat graphical tricks give it a really cohesive feel. The game itself is challenging and has great animation.
I love the graphics and effects you have in your game. Thats a very solid and polished game for a LD, and the gameplay is fun too. Good work
Oh my god please keep working on this game, this is incredible.
Really excellent. Could use a tad of a speed upgrade for the player character, even though they're supposed to be brainwashed or similar. Excellent art and aesthetic. Top tier.
Thank you all so much for your feedback.
Super well done. only thing I have to report is that the player will sometimes get stuck when trying to walk into and activate a moving platform at the same time. keep it up!
Incredible game, it feels so polished! Really guys, you did great job it feels like demo for 'Steam game', it actually reminds me of Zombie Night Terror. I hope you are going to continue working on this project. Graphics are really well done (smooooth animations) and mood is also pretty great, minimalistic audio sets a right tone. Gameplay is pretty interesting and i see a lot of potential with more ways to use ship equipment to deal with scavangers. Really well done!
Really nice game, with great graphics and a funny and interesting gameplay!
What a killer game! Using ships systems is a lot fun, being the sadistic AI feels disturbingly good. I'd really like to see more levels.
Gaining power from opening doors seems to give you a bit too much power I believe, I've never felt short of it, but it may be because there's not much systems to activate. The hijacked's lifetime is what got me rushing forward.
I didn't use to much the 'play dead' option, also I think it would be more convenient to just get up on any move you make when lying down, it would fasten a little the action. Shooting isn't very satisying right now, bullets spreading a bit randomly made me loose the final fight in the core chamber where I was a little overheight from the enemy.
The battery doesn't move with the platform in the right of the ship if you drop it on floor.
The graphics are very nice, but I feel the pixellated effect is overkill (and not particularily pleasing to my eye), lowpoly + scanline is good enough.
The sound contributes to the atmoshpere and complement very well the graphics, but I've found some sounds like enemy deaths to be too much overdriven.
This is really an awesome entry for the game jam, and could be a cool full game too. Well done!
How much attention in detail for only 3 days. I liked it a lot! The game conquered me with an incredible art and a very good fluidity. Well done! :)
Very polished game for only three days! Amazing style and the audio is greate too! Wish there were more levels :( Enjoyed it. Greate game! :)
Holy somkes this is the best i've seen! Congrats!
Awesome game ! Great concept, realized brilliantly, i loved being the evil ship :D Congratulations !
Congratulations on JAM #2! This game is very atmospheric and I really love the animations (how did you create them?)
Here is my playthrough:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kEOdTjgHzA
I did about 15 tries to complete it, couple of times I succeeded to kill all enemies, but didn't get the battery part. Also, control hints are not very helpfull since some of them have a different key bindings.
Just want to warn you, there is an exploit where you can kill everyone without losing life by choosing not to possess the first player. An easy fix for this would be to lock the camera if a player is not possessed. But I say that in the end it's a great game.
