Congratz Jeff! :)
Thanks Mike, glad I finally got around to participating. Will have to do this again in the future, though there's something insane about an event where everyone is voluntarily entering "crunch mode" from minute 1 lol
Really cool idea, it sure can grow from here, maybe limiting the quantity of guns u can hold and also maybe some enemies can pick up the guns that are falling, adding more platforms, it could be a nice bullethellish game! Congrats!
My anti-virus won't download GameMaker .exe applications. Could it be possible to get a .zip version? I'd really love to try this game.
Nice job, the graphics look really nice :)
Tselmek - No prob, changed the link to a ZIP file instead of EXE :)
muromets/chikun - Thanks! I had ideas for stuff like if you collect the same gun in a row that group will become more powerful than normal and some guns in the stack could have negative effects like shooting a homing missile back at the Player so collecting the guns becomes kind of a Tetris mini-game in itself but I spent too long on the art instead of the code lol Gotta' manage my time better next time.
Great concept, the art is pretty good and that's some kickass soundtrack. As stated, it's missing some kind of goal or even a score system, but I can't blame for that. Little notice, the background tiles weirdly at some points.
Good game, but once you get enough guns it gets pretty loud and also a bit too easy.
Just a fun little beat 'em up game. Dodging back felt great and timing punches at the beginning took a bit of practice (Which I liked). Only problem is the guns are too hard to get. They always fall into more enemies making it impossible to get. It was still fun and it looked nice. Good Work!
Graphics are really good. I think you could build on this to make a fun platformer.
Love how ridiculous it gets.
Really like the art and the animations were great. It was pretty funny watching the tower of weapons on the character's arm stack up. Can see this turning into a larger game easily. Nice work!
This was fun. The animation ran super smooth and the feeling of power was pretty great. It has a steep learning curve though. Once you amass something like 15 guns though you just kind of run forward hitting space.
graphics were really well done. animation was smooth too! I thoroughly enjoyed this concept :)
Graphics? Amazing. Animation? Awesome. Weapon effect? Outstanding.
Overall advice? Less is more. lol
Once you get two guns, it's all over. And once you get a stack to the roof, there's nothing to challenge the player, at all. I never saw an enemy after that.
Still, lots of potential in there. I'll have to check out Spine. :D
Excellent. Needs some difficulty curve tuning, but overall quite excellent.
I had lots of fun playing this. It's hard to get first wepons though and as soon as you get a decent stack you get basically unstoppable.
looks really nice and Fun to play. The weapons are hard get hold of and keep.
CH
needs some balancing, maybe weapons run out eventually. would be interested in seeming what it looked like with a level system rather than an infinite generation of enemies. but fun little game.
I think as a first-time submission, this is very impressive. That said, I also think that the game is poorly balanced. It gets in the way of fun, which seemed to be the point of the game.
Still, good to have you on the stream, and I hope you a very good luck on the next Ludum Dare. I see a lot of promise in this project!
Such an intense game! The look and feel was amazing, but the amount of enemies was crippling. After enemies started piling up when my weapon upgraded, it was impossible to gather more weapons because they dropped right into the group.
