Fun fully realized entry. Wish I had other folks to test it out with.

Cute style, like the castle spawning effect.

Awesome scope, and execution considering you started on Saturday.

Loved VVVVVV :P

I really like it. It's a simple concept that works well in practice. The AI was functional, even though it was fairly easy. Also, I'm a big fan of yours, Terry!

That was surprisingly fun, it would be awesome to play with other people, and it seems like it would be well suited for playing on a smart phone.

I got to a state where I couldn't take a turn, but couldn't skip it either.

Graphics were cool

felt nice, rules were good I fink

music and sexier sounds would have been gooood

Simple and fun.

Nice game where you have to think about your next move. Wish I had some people around to try it with.

Doesn't the first player have a big advantage though?

This is a really strong casual game. The rules aren't super clear but the concept is strong, if I had funding I would buy the rights to this one.

Enjoyed playtesting this, it's just a shame it's so hard to get four people together to play a game.

I'm not really seeing the theme "discovery" in here beyond the initial figuring out the rules.

That being said, enjoyable game. Played a couple rounds, decided that the "win" condition was when the whole board was filled, then whoever had the most quarters.

(I just updated the build with the a new jam version, which includes some polish, bug fixes and an in-game tutorial.)

As it says, should be played with other humans. Excellent work, and I discovered how much of a jerk my wife can be.

What I like best about this game is that rules are very simple but the gameplay seems really sound. Is it an implementation of a classic game? If not, do you know of winning strategies? Graphics and sound are simple but stylish. I actually enjoyed figuring out the rules without any instructions, though it was not clear if suicide was a valid strategy to end the game when I was winning, or if that disqualified me.

The jam version felt way more polished--maybe you should try making only one game during the weekend? :)

whitetigle 2010-12-21 22:20

Well done ! I enjoyed it very much, it is fun to play !

ranklar 2010-12-22 04:51

You really should put instructions at least in your posting... I had no idea what I was doing or even what to do after my first turn... sorry mate, might be the best game in the world, but was frustrating for me.

Too bad the compo version is unfinished. Reminds me vaguely of M.U.L.E. in its casual, annoy-your-friends way. And the retro graphics too.

endurion 2010-12-23 07:01

Plays really nice, but the compo version sooner or later gets stuck in an unsolvable state (Can neither walk nor build a castle).
Still, very promising and I guess the jam version plays better.

Playing 1 human against 3 AI, I foolishly used all my movements without building a castle on my first turn.

After that, I could not restart the game to try again! I have to reload the page?

Awesome game, has a surprising amount of depth in the tactics you can use :D
