Wohoo. This is really nice. First when i saw this i had the usual thing about 3d games in LD - that this can't be deep because the tech takes more time than usual. But that wasn't the case. The mechanic was pretty cool, and it became really cool when the machine guns were introduced:) Levels were also really challenging and it seemed to take me a quite long time to play it through. half an hour atleast .. (?) Awesome, with bit of polish and fixing to work on gamepad I can imagine buying this from xbla :-)
Negative: The SSAO didn't really do much difference here :P
my vid card can't handle this, sry :3
Getting more and more interesting once you advance onto the later levels.
Amazing! Once you get past the technical requirements hurdle (something I was able to do for probably the first LD in history - hooray for my fancy new PC), it's one of the most solid entries I've ever seen. A full-fledged real game, with amazing technology behind it. Usually the tech ones have no gameplay at all. So far, this is my favorite gameplay of the ones I've played. A really interesting puzzle with a lot to it, and cute tennis balls on the cannons.
It's a shame that very few people will ever get to play it!
This is a great game! Not too hard pussles, but still challenging and fun, nice graphics, amazing technology.
But portability is important!
Nice game =). Some sound would have been nice though, and the controls were a bit awkward. Something like left mouse to move turrets, right to rotate and perhaps double-click to shoot, maybe shift+mouse to move the camera, would have been much better, I think. Also, sometimes it was hard getting turrets to rotate.
The 3D engine is great (impressive work for 48 hours!), but I can't help but feel it actually detracts from the game, since for this kind of puzzle game it's important to get an overview of things, and the core gameplay is all 2D anyway. I ended up playing mostly from an overhead perspective, but then the HUD got in the way occasionally. Also, targetting rays are difficult to see over light areas (and to a lesser degree over water too).. though I think that might be because my gfx card doesn't support a floating point render buffer apparently.
Anyway, apart from that I liked it =)
I really enjoyed playing this game, it took me a moment to figure out some things, such as the fact that some cannons need to be fired more than once, or some minor aiming issues, but it was fun to play.
I was missing camera zooming in and out, some levels were hard to see the exact effect of the blasts with, and being able to move the camera around would have helped.
my laptop cant do this :(
Fantastic!
Excellent!
Can't install XNA on this POS machine of mine, so n/as from me. Nice journal though. :)
My computer isn't man enough for this kind of game ...
Looks very impressive. Needed some time before I figured out I had to open those two subfolders and install what is in them. After that, it worked for a bit before Vista froze as a hole and forced me to pull the plug. I don't think this Vista was booted more than 1 or 2 times, so no idea if this was even related - I still had played the first 3 or 4 levels before the freeze though so rating anyway. The gameplay seemed quite innovative to me, but the rotating camera was a bit confusing. Also the moving and aiming seemed a bit fiddly, and there was no sound - all small details which added up to make it not as much fun as it could be.
Both technically and graphically this is really nice.
Makes good use of the theme.
I had some trouble with picking on the cannons, where mouseclicks were not always getting registered.
couldn't run -- technical requirements
Nice game, I couldn't solve level 9 though.
despite my efforts, nothing XNA runs on my PC.
good use of the deforming terrain as apart of the puzzle. Game ran great on my x1950
