| Jan 9 00:51:31 | You're under harvest | ♥ 2 | Lovely PICO-8 entry :D I think it would've helped a lot if the direction had some sort of intuitive relationship to their corresponding items- the apples up in the tree worked really well for up, but it took a bit more to mentally map left/right to their symbols. e.g., could use up/right/down instead, and have down pull a root vegetable from the ground and forward harvest some above-ground crop. That said, I did eventually get used to it enjoyed it :) | |
| Jan 9 01:41:53 | 50m 22s | Super Plant Farm | ♥ 1 | Cute spin on crate box to fit the theme :D I really like that it doubles as a defense game. The fixed location of the pots, however, allows you to just camp and defend one of the side ones, only going out to grab nearby seeds/water. Some additional mechanic preventing using the same pot twice in a row, or enemy variety to make the side pots less safe, might help address that. Great work regardless! :) |
| Jan 9 02:09:55 | 28m 02s | Grow Golf | ♥ 2 | A great idea very well-executed- absolutely loved this! The overall look and feel made it super satisfying- especially when you get a good golf ball army going. :D |
| Jan 9 06:20:05 | 4h 10m | Click On Fish | ♥ 4 | I clicked on fish 🐟 #teamfish |
| Jan 9 07:40:52 | 1h 20m | Strange Garden | ♥ 0 | Fun little strategy game- as always love your effects and animations! :D |
| Jan 10 03:06:01 | 19h 25m | Harvest Tataki - Whac-a-carrot | ♥ 1 | Nice Pico-8 entry :D For how simple the mechanics are it was really well executed. The little animations, effects, and even the difficulty curve all worked well together. Managed to get 61- felt like to go much higher would rely on mashing and praying :P |
| Jan 10 04:00:55 | 54m 54s | Nesting | ♥ 1 | Really cute Pico-8 game! I really liked the idea of the twigs weighing down your platforming movement, as it opens up interesting routing problems. Not sure if I missed it, but would have been a nice touch to have some sort of reward for getting 55/55, like a cute animation with a happier bird partner :P Great work nonetheless! |
| Jan 10 07:29:26 | 3h 28m | Carrot | ♥ 4 | boats.PNG Aww carrots 🥕⛵ |
| Jan 10 16:32:20 | 9h 02m | URSA MAIOR | ♥ 4 | Cute little interactive story! Round animals are best animals :D |
| Jan 10 16:54:08 | 21m 48s | Hyper Harvest | ♥ 2 | Really fun Pico-8 entry! It gave some Tetris Attack/Puzzle League vibes, but with the floating blocks + line clear aspect of regular Tetris. :D Understandable given the compo constraints, but if you were to ever work on it post-jam, I think it'd add a lot to have some sort of combo mechanic- e.g., chaining multiple fruits if there's a clear path between each pair along the chain, to add extra depth to the strategy and satisfaction to pull off. Great work! |
| Jan 10 17:16:22 | 22m 14s | Last Harvest | ♥ 2 | I really like the concept of this, with all the networks between units. Like others said, though, I wish there was more :D Could squeeze some extra levels with some combo of different desertification patterns/sources + bluegrass locations, and walls would add a lot in restricting building your network. That said, it might also be hard to squeeze into Pico-8 without extra optimization/constraints (like max upkeep, max outgoing edges per node, etc.)- I ran into performance issues fast by spamming buckets near the apples. Well done- really ambitious for Pico-8! |
| Jan 10 18:30:41 | 1h 14m | The Polar Vet and the Non-Swimming Penguin | ♥ 1 | Fun little sliding-sokoban puzzle game- bonus points for including a penguin! 🐧 Like others said, the theme made me think the penguins were being harvested to eat, but thankfully read the description for clarification :'D Nice short puzzle pack with really cute sprites, great work! |
| Jan 10 18:45:19 | 14m 38s | Fairy Feeder | ♥ 3 | Really liked the idea of this- I used to be obsessed with Insaniquarium so this was really nostalgic. I appreciated the in-game tutorial, you don't see them often in jams given the constraints- great work and pretty pixel art! :D |
| Jan 11 04:52:21 | 10h 07m | Oyster Odyssey | ♥ 1 | Really immersive game- on top of the solid design around the game mechanics, the art created mood and atmosphere that really fit the lore. Loved the ending. ;) |
| Jan 12 01:15:27 | 20h 23m | Lil Death | ♥ 2 | As everyone's acknowledging, this has got really good game feel. Movement/attacking gets intuitive and is overall satisfying, on top of really cute pixel art. :D Great work! |
| Jan 12 02:32:27 | 1h 17m | It was all for the Tuna | ♥ 3 | The art and music were gorgeous :D If there was to be any post-jam stuff it'd be awesome to see a bit more with the fishing, like the different species require different mouse patterns/mini-games to keep on the line. As soon as the rod started upgrading, there wasn't as much fishing gameplay to do anymore as most things reeled in much quicker (but was reasonably paced for the length of the game). Regardless, really great work :D Glad to see more fish-themed harvesting as well! |
| Jan 15 03:32:05 | 72h 59m | Typefarmer | ♥ 1 | Really fun typing game :D I found the score/multiplier mechanics really interesting- they appear to update real-time and get applied the moment a crop is collected (as opposed to when a word is fully typed), leading to a strategy of typing bursts of words and waiting to press more keys so the multiplier actually gets used. image.png |
| Jan 15 17:10:57 | 13h 38m | Squirrelativity | ♥ 1 | Really neat puzzle with adorable pixel art :D Managed to get through them all- there were definitely more than I was expecting for a compo entry! Were they hand-designed or was the puzzle setting tool-assisted in any way? |
| Jan 16 13:53:55 | 20h 42m | Egg Egg Chicken | ♥ 1 | Really cute defense game- I liked the merge between building towers/structures that helped out while you still had to actively click around to make progress. Loved the little pixel art as well. :D As others have already mentioned, the main concern was enemies moving behind the UI. Especially in a clicking-based game this can be really prone to mis-clicks. :P |
| Jan 16 18:12:23 | 4h 18m | Monkey Oolong Harvest Bop | ♥ 2 | Aww, it reminds me of the monkey mechanics in the SNES Lion King game, except you're the monkeys! Really cute visuals and as others have described, very good and intuitive game feel where outcomes felt fair. :) |
| Jan 17 04:09:10 | 9h 56m | Billiard Hero | ♥ 1 | Loved the overall look and aesthetic of this- incredible polish for a compo game! Finished it and whew, that escalated lmao |
| Jan 19 18:52:34 | 62h 43m | The Gluten Farm | ♥ 1 | Really fun little arcade game- reminded me a lot of Dig Dug. I absolutely love the chicken sprites, and how you got them so cute given the resolution. :D Great work! |
