| Apr 5 01:31:38 | NumberCatch | ♥ 1 | Pretty cool! I love a game with a high score list, I came in second, after a few tries =). Took me a while to realize what some of the clues meant - it said something like "inverse even", which to me sounds like it means "odd", but I guess it actually meant "descending/decrementing even". Music and sound was good, even in the web build. I would have liked it to keep the description of what the current AI strategy was on-screen a bit longer, often I couldn't read and understand it in time ^_^. | |
| Apr 5 01:36:40 | 5m 02s | Numerus Maximus | ♥ 2 | My score: 174, which I suspect is not too good ^_^. Well put together game =). As you said, seems like a lot of random luck. I would have liked to have a little more ways to glean information. The one special power was good, would have been good to have more things like that, perhaps that combine to give useful information. |
| Apr 5 01:49:19 | 12m 39s | The Dungeon Lord | ♥ 1 | Pretty neat! I don't hear any sound, is that expected (maybe opt-out of the category, if so?). Even with only a few traps and monsters, my heroes seem to really get stuck... they encounter one, and most of the time decide to walk backwards, and then encounter it again, so never leave... I've spent quite a while just waiting around, and _finally_ had a couple heroes leave, earning about 500 when they did ^_^. Doesn't seem there was much I could have done to encourage them (I already had them sticking to one path, they just like to go backwards...). I like the simplicity of style and concept, after just a little while it was pretty clear how everything worked for me. Good job! |
| Apr 6 00:57:29 | 23h 08m | Clear Skies with a Chance of Meteors | ♥ 1 | On my first game, I ended with 37 mana and 0 people saved. That's how a true evil wizard should behave, right? Second game I got a score of 180. That was fun! Often had interesting choices with no clear best choice to make, which is great balance for a jam game =). Seemed there were even multiple viable strategies with how to balance things. The acceleration was a great number to play with. |
| Apr 7 00:51:52 | 23h 54m | Department of Fire Deferral | ♥ 1 | I got to 400s and finally burnt amount reached 2%, and I was running out of power-ups, so I inevitably called it a day. Neat game! It took me a while to get the hang of what was happening, it would have been useful if some part of the map started with some fire, so there was an initial goal and the player could see what "fire" looks like. I like the procedural generation, nicely done there! Audio was also really good, I liked the music. |
| Apr 7 01:07:22 | 15m 30s | Goblin Escape | ♥ 1 | Great game, really ambitious and works pretty well! I think I died from lack of food, though I'm not completely sure... seemed like everything was going fine and then got a game over screen ^_^. I had some problems ever mining any gold - they'd always walk there, start mining, walk back, but no gold... right before I died I think I figured out that perhaps they were getting hungry before they mined a single unit and went home, but I wasn't sure... Like the graphics, simple and charming! |
| Apr 7 04:02:08 | 2h 54m | Caravan to Empire | ♥ 1 | Neat idea! I wished that I had some control of what to do with my resources, but seemed it was just random what showed up as able to build (and I wasn't sure what they did) - it would have been cool to be able to see two different ghosts of things to build, with their resource costs and description (e.g. "cost: 3 stone, generates 1 food/day") under them, so I had an interesting choice of "build this thing now or save up for that thing later". The itch.io fullscreen button is getting in the way of clicking Unity's fullscreen button, I think you can uncheck the "needs fullscreen button" on the itch.io side, should make it slightly easier to go fullscreen. Music was pretty good, didn't get annoying, for as long as I played, which was 15 days =). |
| Apr 7 04:16:07 | 13m 59s | Block Wizard Arena | ♥ 1 | That was neat, I survived 10 rounds. I mostly just used melee and healing, so I guess I was playing a Cleric? It was a hard to see the leftmost power button, perhaps a monitor aspect ratio issue - I'm running at 16:10, maybe only displays right on 16:9 screens? I liked the blocky wizards getting bigger and bigger compared to me =). |
| Apr 7 16:45:49 | 12h 29m | Slime Rise | ♥ 2 | _Really_ hard/frustrating at first, I tried clicking some places, nothing happened, right clicked others, nothing happened, then clicked somewhere it was white, and a thing appeared and I couldn't seem to click or do anything for a bit, and then everyone died. Second game I figured out slightly more, though still died very quickly, my people mostly just liked running down ladders into the slime it seemed... Third game went slightly better, got a score of 135 meters, and started having some fun. Maybe it should start with a lot more time to figure out what's going on (slime just doesn't move until you've built up past a height of 5 or something?) so one can learn the controls / mechanics a bit, I think that would have removed most of the initial frustration. Was fun when I got into it though! I really like the aesthetic, and audio was good! |
| Apr 7 16:54:06 | 8m 17s | Deathly Delay | ♥ 1 | Neat game! I couldn't play the arm wrestling one due to injuries from clicking too much in other games, but the others were nice. I love that death loves cats =). Graphics are great, just wish the countdown clock matches the pixel aesthetic of the rest of the screen. Out of curiosity, what option did you set so that the game takes the whole window when a user clicks to play it on itch.io? That seems nice, even if yours doesn't actually stretch to fill the window... |
| Apr 8 01:03:06 | 8h 09m | Lords of the Deck: 50 cards to WAR | ♥ 1 | Great game, really enjoyed it! My score was 30, but I feel like I got really lucky (zero advantage at the end!). After completing the game, I did the obvious thing, and began a game of War between the two factions (using their skirmish decks). As expected, after about 10 times through the deck, the war was no closer to ending than when it began, so I gave up. |
| Apr 8 19:16:07 | 18h 13m | Échec ⛌ Chess | ♥ 0 | I survived 41 turns. He had no king, but still did not lose :(. Neat idea, and well implemented! When pieces upgraded, it would have been nice to get a little more feedback on that, I think attacked someone who had a block or something and nothing went as I expected after that ^_^. |
| Apr 8 19:42:53 | 26m 46s | Lethal Dice 50 | ♥ 2 | I love seeing physical games. I checked out the TTS mod, thanks for providing that =). My score was, unfortunately, only 150. Unless I missed something, having played, I think, optimally up until that point (scored each turn, always scored the card with the most dice slots), drawing 3 cards to add to my existing 3 on the 4th round suddenly put me in very high chance of rolling over 50 range, and so I did ^_^. The rules were a little confusing when first mentioning "upright cards in the score pile", having no idea what "upright" or "score pile" were. Actually took a couple readings to realize that "upright" meant "not upside down", for some reason I was thinking it meant 90 degrees rotated/tapped and didn't see any way they would get that way when reading the rest of the rules ^_^. |
| Apr 8 19:51:18 | 8m 25s | Wildfire | ♥ 1 | It seems that (at both fullscreen on my 16:10 monitor, and using the default embed resolution in the link provided), there's a bunch of fire off of the side of the screen that I can't get to. fire.png I seem to have a lot of trouble putting out the fire - sometimes it worked, some trees I just could not extinguish. (Playing the fixed version) I would see no visual cue whenever watering the tree in the far lower left, could never put that fire out. Generally this seemed pretty slow paced - I would have liked to spend less time holding space, and more time running around fighting fires =). I like the visuals on the trees (those are trees, right? ^_^), and sound was nice and unobtrusive. Mini-map was a great addition. Nice job making a game! |
| Apr 8 19:59:16 | 7m 58s | Lumber Tracks | ♥ 1 | That was fun =). I had a lot of trouble aiming the axe, sometimes I'd be aiming, I thought to the lower right side of the screen, I'd click after getting bumped, and the ax flies up to a little tree up and behind the train to the left, and then at that point I just can't get back over to get my axe back in time ^_^. It was fun bouncing off the train to get momentum, that's not a mechanic I recall playing with before =). Nice graphics and sound. |
| Apr 8 20:12:44 | 13m 28s | Caring Hero | ♥ 1 | Gamepad controls seemed to not work - I could press Start to pause, but could not move with d-pad or either stick. Using a standard Xbox 360 controller on Chrome, no problems on other Unity WebGL games so far today. Healing the boss also seemed flaky - when I was trying to get the controller to work, he seemed to auto-heal when he got low until I ran out of mana (maybe a button was just seen as stuck?), so then when I played with KB, I didn't bother healing, and immediately lost ^_^. After that, I tried, and sometimes Shift caused him to heal, and sometimes not -_-. After playing again, maybe there is just a long wind-up before it starts healing with nothing happening? Impressive amount of content in the game, nice job on completing it. I like the music too! |
| Apr 8 20:27:42 | 14m 58s | Extinction is inevitable | ♥ 1 | Great job! I love the creatures made from different parts, the visuals came together wonderfully! The simulation was also impressively complex, felt like I was watching a whole world evolve =). I would have liked a little more control over my choices, sometimes I had three choices that all seemed worse than what I had, or they replaced something that I couldn't remember what it did, so I wasn't sure if I should choose it. Maybe some choice that is basically saving up DNA points for an extra big upgrade later or better cards in the next draw or something like that would be really fun and add a layer of strategy. |
| Apr 8 20:37:10 | 9m 28s | Debt Train (card construction game) | ♥ 1 | That was fun! I managed to draw 32 cards. Sometimes the card seem to get stuck invisibly to my cursor when I got down to my last card (had a station stuck there and it tried to place it anywhere I clicked, and then money stuck there later, but luckily was able to draw a debt card and place it on that or something). I enjoyed the simplicity of it, and the fun of laying out my tracks to get as many buildings as possible, once I figured out how that all worked ^_^. |
| Apr 8 20:42:32 | 5m 22s | The Last Stand | ♥ 1 | That's really great! So simple, but elegant in execution. I also always love PICO-8 games =). Good music too! Maybe more of a bit of "interactive art" than a "game", but I enjoyed it nonetheless. |
| Apr 8 20:50:35 | 8m 03s | I.P.A.D | ♥ 0 | My score: 57855. That was fun! I would have liked slightly cleaner turret placement - often I felt like I should be able to place it, and I had to hunt around to find a spot between turrets to get it there. I liked the game the most near the beginning, while I was waiting for a little more money to place a turret in the perfect spot, got a little crazy later on ^_^. |
| Apr 8 20:54:09 | 3m 34s | Deathline | ♥ 1 | Love the visuals, everything was nice and smooth and polished. Was too difficult for me, in 4-5 tries, I could usually survive about 15 seconds, only once lived long enough to kill something, grab it's scrap, and delay the death line ^_^. |
| Apr 8 21:01:48 | 7m 39s | Battle Cards | ♥ 0 | My tooltip seemed to get stuck on "Pikeman" (the first card I played?) when hovering any card in my hand, so I couldn't see the cost of what I was trying to place, which was a little confusing. I enjoyed having an army of cards, seemed my defeat wasn't actually inevitable, maybe I was just getting lucky =). Got a little bored of doing the same thing over and over again when I had 8 troops out and he kept getting reduced to nothing... I like having two rows of troops, that was interesting, though having to manually target felt a bit cumbersome, maybe they should all just pick a different target at random, and then manual targeting could be used on top of that, in case you want to take out someone in particular. |
| Apr 8 21:07:34 | 5m 46s | Doomsday Cult | ♥ 1 | Neat! I like the aesthetic. Drawing minigame was neat but difficult, though I eventually succeeded. Only survived 9 turns on my first game though ^_^. |
| Apr 8 21:15:04 | 7m 30s | Last Minute On Earth | ♥ 1 | That was a lot of fun! Why is the time portal always in the last room I look? O.o Before reading someone else's comments, I didn't realize the nationality was chosen at random, was slightly offended that it happened to blame mine (let's go with... Robots?) on the first page load -_-. But, after that it was slightly more amusing ^_^. It was very intense right after jumping through a portal and bullets were flying at my face, I quite liked that, but I would have liked just a moment to find myself before getting shot at. The sound and rhythm of combat was kind of nice, let me time going around corns knowing they when they show and when they were next going to shoot. Nice job for such a short time! |
| Apr 8 21:29:12 | 14m 08s | Track Switching | ♥ 1 | My high score was 80, at about 7.5 minutes, when I couldn't concentrate on it anymore =). I got to a score of 53 before realizing I could let a train enter into the wrong station for a penalty ^_^. That was pretty neat. A little sound would be good. It started at just the right pace to get the hang of things. A little more increase to the speed at which trains came to speed the game to its end would have been nice though. Maybe some additional options in the track (there seemed to be only exactly 1 way to get from almost any source to almost any other sink, so usually had no real options, just had to have the right switches set) would be nice - so you could route a train around to avoid colliding or something. After playing as much as I did, I have to ask... is losing actually inevitable? Or does it always generate trains that are guaranteed not to crash? Really well done game, elegant in its simplicity! |
