Apr 28 00:39:25 Enemy Territory ♥ 1 Simple concept executed well! The fact that you put some personality in the text helped the mood. Good job!
Apr 28 00:48:31 9m 06s Troublesome ♥ 1 I like the graphics, and the idea is good, a bit more variety would've really spiced it up though, and sound obviously. As the previous commenters mentioned, the controls could've been better. The grey box at the top right confused me sometimes since it's the same color as the background but covers objects under it, making it seem like they come out of nowhere. That being said, driving over the enemies is a satisfying way of dealing with them and I enjoy how you can choose to either fight with fists or the vehicles. Good job!
Apr 28 01:03:02 14m 31s En Root ♥ 1 Interesting gameplay, however I never understood why the game ended when it did, that needs to be stated somewhere. I LOVE how you get to see your whole root when the game ends, it's super satisfying. The music is really nice and compliments the gameplay nicely. I like your wholesome instructions too :) great job!
Apr 28 01:15:24 12m 22s Deep into the mine ♥ 1 The graphics are super simple but you put the time into building a proper environment with details like mine carts and support beams, which enhanced the mood quite a bit! The camera could've been more zoomed out - as it is right now it feels a bit cramped. The movement and especially the jump physics could use some improvement, as could the collision, I got stuck between the ground and a mine cart once and couldn't get out. I like the reload animation and the few sounds that are in this game do their job well. Overall it's a fun game, but it could be much more fun with a few tweaks. Good job on this!
Apr 28 01:25:33 10m 09s The little abnormality ♥ 1 Love your style! The embracing of strangeness has always been something I'm drawn to, and I think you did a good job doing that! The developing story was a great motivation to keep going through the stage even as I kept dying - even if some of the deaths felt like they could've been avoided if the controls were tweaked to allow more tight and precise movement. Graphically, I your the use of unconventional textures and animation, it really lends your game a unique visual. It seemed like the music dynamically added more layers as I got further down - great touch. Overall you did a good job on this! Was the "you are not a human" text read in norwegian google translate btw? I thought I could hear a norwegian accent in that voice hahaha
Apr 28 01:41:22 15m 49s The Golden Cavern. ♥ 1 This was fun! I love when games have secret pathways, and you pulled it off really well! Finding secrets wasn't hard but it still felt satisfying. Your level design had a good amount of variety and I had fun jumping through the different challenges, sometimes I would fall on spikes when I couldn't see if there was anywhere to land, which always felt unfair so it's something to consider for the next time you're making a level. The graphics are simple but effective, which also goes for the sound. I seemed to get to the bottom, but I fell right through the orb. I jumped down to the right and just kept going until I closed the game 😅 overall, well done!
Apr 28 01:50:22 9m 00s To the Center of the World ♥ 1 Wow, I've never played a game with these controls before, I like your thinking! The movement itself worked well, but I found myself growing impatient at how long the level was when there was not any variety in things to dodge. I got to the bottom but I think the game thought I cheated, seeing as my whole crew died 😅
Apr 28 02:02:17 11m 55s Heavy Fall ♥ 1 Nice game! The art is really good looking and the audio is simple but effective. The stomping enemies were fun to deal with, and once I got the hang of the robot enemies they also became an interesting encounter. The variety in the way enemies attack you greatly enhances the fun factor of the game. Having the combat take place on a descending speeding elevator was a great way to incorporate the theme of the jam since it works very well as a set for an action sequence. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this game, good job!
Apr 28 02:29:13 26m 56s Theodores Tumble ♥ 2 Wow, out of all the LD48 games I've played thus far this is the first one to really impress me! There is depth in the design and gameplay, it's clear that you've put thought into this game. I especially like the vines, the satisfying sound they make fits nicely with the great benefit of moving upwards. If you take a close look at the layout where you are you can eventually map out the optimal route, and as you're rewarded by doing so with upgrades (and to a lesser extent points - personally I like rewards that affect the gameplay directly) you feel accomplished. The graphics are cute and easily readable, perfect fit for the grid-based gameplay, and the music is really good. I'm impressed - this is a solid entry!
Apr 28 02:46:45 17m 32s HyperJack ♥ 1 Very interesting entry! The unique yet addictive gameplay of mastering the jackhammer to land combos and maneuver in the best way possible makes this a great arcade game. The graphics are great and as the previous commenter mentioned I like the minimalistic sounds. Great job!
Apr 30 19:49:59 65h 03m Tic-Tac-Run! ♥ 1 I like it! The fire looks nice, and the music is really good. I just wish the player moved a bit faster, sometimes it felt impossible to dodge obstacles when they were in an unforgiving pattern.
Apr 30 20:02:43 12m 44s Deep Sausage Madness ♥ 0 Interesting take on the theme! The music was great, but the gameplay wasn't all too interesting for me since I wasn't competing against anyone and there seemed to be no time limit. Good job with this!
Apr 30 20:10:23 7m 40s Guard Duty ♥ 1 I think the character movement could've been tighter for more precision during platforming, but other than that, good job on this! The art looks great :)
Apr 30 20:21:57 11m 34s An Eggsellent Escape ♥ 1 I love how much variation there is in this game! I really didn't expect the gameplay to turn into an endless runner, and then I confront a boss with multiple stages?? Very nice!
Apr 30 20:28:50 6m 53s Sky Plummet ♥ 1 Cool game, the switch between falling slow and fast was nicely executed and felt satisfying to do each time. It was an interesting mechanic too. Once you get to the second background things get very confusing, I wasn't sure what was the background and what wasn't.
Apr 30 20:37:19 8m 29s Deep into the vibe ♥ 1 Nice game! The music was great (unfortunately it lagged a bit - not sure if that's on my end or a problem with the game) and the gameplay was interesting. My score was 70000!
Apr 30 20:43:17 5m 58s Conversational Pitfalls ♥ 0 Funny game, as others have said the voice acting is great hahaha
Apr 30 21:02:25 19m 08s Into The Depths ♥ 1 Cool game, the different upgrades/tools are all useful and feel great to use in a pinch!
May 1 00:44:24 3h 41m Comatoast ♥ 2 Fun game, I love the jumping and landing animation! The enemies further down have really cool designs as well.
May 1 01:00:04 15m 40s Deep Purple ♥ 1 I really like it! The art looks great and the mechanic is interesting. Some of the puzzles towards the end felt samey and too easy though. Sound design worked well too. This is a great package you've put together over a weekend, congrats!
May 1 01:03:19 3m 15s Square Diver ♥ 2 Simple but fun, I think I would enjoy it much more if the controls were a bit tighter though.
May 1 01:19:15 15m 56s Cosmonoid ♥ 1 The art, audio and gameplay all come together to form something MESMERIZING. I had a blast with this and would love to see it developed into a full game!
May 1 01:32:03 12m 48s Child Of Atlantis ♥ 2 Cool game! I like the design of the player character, seems to be half human half axolotl? Unfortunately I couldn't leave my sea shells at the second drop off place, so I couldn't progress more :(
May 1 01:38:06 6m 03s Into The Depth ♥ 1 Weee! Really neat implementation of the theme, I had fun from start to finish! The music fit well and the character was cute and simple. Good job!
May 1 01:45:56 7m 50s Run Miner Joe ♥ 1 Cool game, the concept works well for this theme. The screen shake and color changing was a bit too intense though, this game really should have an epilepsy warning.
May 1 01:51:32 5m 36s One Deep Fall ♥ 1 Nice game! The graphics and music are good, and the gameplay is simple but fun. If there were more variation I think my interest could've been held for longer. Overall I'd say you did a good job!
May 1 01:54:20 2m 48s Doug Deeper ♥ 0 Looks cute but there isn't a whole lot to do, wish it had win and lose conditions.
May 1 02:10:43 16m 23s Surface Level ♥ 1 The art and music are great, and the story is wholesome and cute. I enjoyed the experience, although more change in the scenery would've made it more interesting I understand that you probably didn't have the time for that. The mini games were a neat way to keep the player engaged, my favorites were the star counting and humming. Great job!
May 22 23:37:51 525h 27m ROOTS ♥ 1 Congratulations! Never got around to trying this but I was in a stream with you when a streamer tried it out, me and a few others gave many compliments to this game and I stand by those compliments. You've done a great job, be proud, and congratulations again.
