I see you already noticed webGL not working; deffinitely didn't work for me, tried it in Firefox and Chrome both; just get a blue screen with background music. Hope this is helpful.

bridgeonastick 2021-04-26 13:05

@bw-devel It seems you had the same issue I had when trying to play the WebGL version. It should work right now, I managed to fix it on my end at least. Thank you for the heads up!

romeromey 2021-04-26 13:45

great job here! i think it could have been a bit more clear about how many moves you have in each level, but once i got a feel for the mechanics it got fun and challenging. i loved the audio! the move and can't move sounds in the blocks really started to blend in to the music and i actually just kinda jammed out with it for a bit!

moomka 2021-04-26 14:05

I went through several levels, but I still did not understand what the direction in which you can move the blocks depends, and in which it is impossible

azagaya 2021-04-26 14:29

Amazing entrye. Icredible what you managed in such a short time. I find it hard at first to discover that i could only move one direction, and could only change the direction after picking the up arrow. It was a little confusing that it was an up arrow given that it allowed you to move to any other direction. Perhaps some more explanation about that, or what the specific blocks are. Anyways i could finish it all (missed some coins in some places). Art is awesome. Sound and music is cool too. REALLY nice game.

bridgeonastick 2021-04-26 14:33

@romeromey Thanks for the feedback! I agree the explaining of the mechanics is not well done. Glad that you liked the audio!

@moomka The mechanic in the first few levels is that once you press one of WASD, you can only use that button. I know I did not explain it very well, I hoped the levels would explain the mechanics on their own, but with your feedback, I see that is not the case. Thanks for trying!

bridgeonastick 2021-04-26 14:37

@azagaya Thank you so much! Others also agree with a better explanations about the mechanics (me too tbh). Glad you finished it!

lighty-the-light 2021-04-26 14:51

Why am I stuck in the scene where there is only a u3d logo?

nonumbersgames 2021-04-26 16:16

Smooth art, good music, satisfying sounds and polished movements, good number of levels and interesting puzzles make the game feel smooth and professionally made.

The end was a bit abrupt though - since golden shinies are optional, was expecting to see the number collected, like 4/8. Would encourage replaying and collecting all.

Also, while the color and the music were indeed pretty deep, it didn't feel like they were getting any deeper - slight tone shifts each level might have helped with theme as well as sense of progression.

Overall, a very solid entry, enjoyed playing it - felt natural, as a good polished game should.

bridgeonastick 2021-04-26 17:01

@lighty-the-light Could you elaborate on this? Windows/WebGL? If it's something I can fix, I'd like to.

@nonumbersgames Thank you very much! Appreciate the kind words. It was in the planning to add an end screen but ultimately was left out. As for the theme, the background does change color halfway through but other than my reasoning for the theme is pretty far fetched. The tone shifting is a really interesting idea!

ryzy27 2021-04-26 18:24

Cool game. You seem to have thought of everything, even crushing the player :)

I did not encounter any bugs, altough later levels seem to be easier than first ones. Giving unlimited moves in all directions might be too hard to balance.

Great art, fitting music, nice puzzles. Solid entry!

nonumbersgames 2021-04-26 19:16

Oh yeah, color does change halfway. Was too immersed into puzzles to notice.

Also, nice intro level to test out controls - really getting the vibe that you work professionally on gamedev.

Speaking of the puzzles, I have one shiny to collect, and it is eluding me how. Well, actually have 3 ways to collect, just no way to exit afterwards. Could you maybe give a hint? :)

bridgeonastick 2021-04-26 20:04

@ryzy27 Thanks for the feedback!

@nonumbersgames I'll do you something better than a hint: you can't! This level was made when you were able to move a bit faster, so you could jump from the right all the way to the left. As an apology I will hand you this 🌟 as clearly you deserve it for the effort!

nonumbersgames 2021-04-26 20:48

I KNEW IT! Out of curiosity, which one of these was the intended route?

NotSoClose.png

Closest.png

By the way I found the secret area - if you time your jump with W you can get additional height and go behind ceiling tiles. Not sure if I got a shiny for that one though... SecretArea.png

I think I might actually be too deep into this :D

bridgeonastick 2021-04-26 22:25

@nonumbersgames The first and the third are correct! As for intentional only the first, nice job doing things I did not think about! About that secret area you found, sadly no shiny's there. The well timed jump mechanic was planned, but did not get to see the light of day in the end, it was too inconsistent to build a level around.

Looking through the levels, I see that there is one more (unintentional) secret area you can get to... 👀 Hint: if you find it you won't be able to clear the level (unless you are very, very precise)

bassguitarbill 2021-04-26 22:37

Very fun, interesting mechanic. Reminds me of [WitchWay](https://gleeson.itch.io/witchway), in a good way :D

oeschmid 2021-04-26 23:10

I liked these puzzle mechanics! The momentum from moving blocks reminds me of Celeste, and was a lot of fun. The sound effects and general sound design is also really good. Great work! (also small note, but glad to see my favorite color represented so well :P)

nisovin 2021-04-27 00:47

Excellent puzzle game! I enjoyed it the whole way through. Some good level design, and great music as well. I think I would have preferred it if the controls were the other way around, but that's just personal preference. Great work!

bridgeonastick 2021-04-27 12:42

@oeschmid Thanks for playing! I hope your favorite color liked being in my game!

@nisovin Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to make the controls more customizable next time!

nonumbersgames 2021-04-27 14:37

Found the second secret! And c'mon, that jump afterwards isn't that hard to do, the jump-off-ledge mechanic and the collision box above are pretty forgiving - that's one of the things that make the character movement feel smooth. Or I played this for way too long and just got too good at it :D

(Maybe I should remove the images to avoid spoiling the secrets for other players? Could be an additional challenge to find both secret areas) SecretArea2.png

wheffle 2021-04-27 16:31

I liked it. The puzzle mechanics were straight-forward but allowed for some interesting levels. The music was pretty nice too. There are a lot of details here that give the game more juice, like being able to crush yourself, blocks launching you upwards, and the screenshake when moving blocks. One thing I wondered was whether you were supposed to have to get all the coins in each level. I noticed you could skip them. It was fun, not too easy and not too hard, cool atmosphere. Nice work!

minibobbo 2021-04-27 20:38

The puzzles were good and the overall polish was very nice. The character moved around really smoothly and every loss was definitely my fault. I think that is the mark of a good platform puzzler!

It is neat that you were able to add some things like secrets in for us to find. Overall very nicely done!

bridgeonastick 2021-04-28 15:45

@nonumbersgames Welp, you got me. That's it. That's all there is to it. You completed the game. Congrats! Thank you for your time, honestly. Take this, it's all yours: 🏆! Thanks for playing!

@wheffle Thank you for the feedback! With the coins I wanted players to have an option to take a more difficult path if they were up for it. Skipping the coins would allow you to reach other levels.

@minibobbo Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

threeli 2021-04-28 18:20

I certainly hope you'll continue to work on it, it's a fun experience packed with such solid intention. Simple mechanics allow for a surprisingly deep puzzle system and I read that you wanted to add elements like pressure plates. I quite like the backing track, saw you used Ableton and felt a kindred spirit, the only issue being it popped occasionally (but I suspect that's some combination of my browser and webGL).

The only thing I really craved was more visual feedback when moving the blocks, but I loved the use of the kick and snare as audible signifiers for moving them.

Great work!

bridgeonastick 2021-04-28 18:35

@threeli I'm glad you liked the music, the popping is definitely not a part of it! There absolutely can be a lot more done visually in the move blocks department, but the screen shake already gave it a little punch, so I left it with that. Thanks for the feedback!

eugenik 2021-04-28 21:06

MOOOOOD 5 stars :).

jcmonkey 2021-04-28 22:59

really interesting game, i quite enjoyed it.

schuster 2021-04-28 23:30

Cool puzzle game, I really liked the music and sound.

turquoise-moon 2021-04-29 00:00

That was fun. I was a little confused on what the arrow collectables did at first, but it did not take too long to figure out.

solah 2021-04-29 05:30

Really cool game, I love the colors of the art and the music is also pretty good. Great puzzle design, good job!

fluffygamedev 2021-04-29 14:05

Cool game ! The graphics a good, the music sets the mood, and the puzzles are clever! Good job !

pijamar 2021-04-30 06:01

Awesome gameplay mechanics, great puzzle design. I absolutely loooove the aesthetics, very pleasing and atmostpheric with superb pixel art. Are you looking to expand this? Hope so, I want more levels

sarajs 2021-04-30 14:13

Thanks for submitting! I hope my in-stream feedback was helpful!

william-corrin 2021-04-30 21:39

This was very clever, fun, and pleasing to the ear/eye. I think transparency with the main mechanic is my biggest gripe though. Only being able to move one direction is slightly confusing for a while, and the fact you can change directions only after picking up an up arrow doesn't exactly make the most sense.

It works very well once you get used to it, but I do think the mechanic could have been introduced much better.

Great entry overall!

jakobthequizguy 2021-05-01 01:00

I really like it! The art looks great and the mechanic is interesting. Some of the puzzles towards the end felt samey and too easy though. Sound design worked well too. This is a great package you've put together over a weekend, congrats!

adamwatters 2021-05-02 20:28

Nice game. The concept seemed simplistic at first but quickly lended itself to some interesting puzzles. Music and graphics fit well. Great job.

cheesepencil 2021-05-02 20:37

great compo entry, it's a decent pixel puzzler made in two days, well done

paulhocker 2021-05-04 04:02

once i figured out the mechanic this game was very fun. many different types of blocks to work with. great job. thanks for making this game.

felo07 2021-05-04 21:57

Hey I got stuck in one of the stages and quit hahahah awesome game man, the music fits soo good with the game atmosphere, graphics and all. I loved the shake effects, pretty good stuff. Good game! =)

mighty-mufflon-games 2021-05-18 17:37

Awesome entry! Fantastic game and level design and so many levels in such less time.
