Dec 5 00:49:30 Speed Date Shuffle ♥ 1 Can't help but laugh every time the date stops talking and looks towards the player. Great job on all of the polish and actually getting a tutorial into the game! Love the artwork too.
Dec 5 01:02:55 13m 25s Captain Capsize ♥ 0 That was really fun! Quite challenging to play with a trackpad, but still fun! I love the concept! Fits very well with the theme!
Dec 5 01:19:33 16m 38s Consecutive Meteor Crunches ♥ 1 Interesting concept! I was also confused at first and thought that nothing was happening and I was just landing back where I started. But once you get going it's pretty fun to try to keep a chain going. I think it would have helped if you broke the meteor that you were on as you launch off of it, that way you know that you aren't landing on the same thing.
Dec 5 06:08:54 4h 49m Chaos Cell ♥ 0 That was a fun game! I think it might have been more intuitive to make the player character a shade of red as well so you it's more reinforced that you are on the "red team" taking out the green invaders.
Dec 5 06:27:41 18m 47s Muldulamulom ♥ 3 I'm really digging this art style. I would buy a full version of this game for sure. I ended up stuck after getting the sword, but I really enjoyed what I did play. Great job!
Dec 7 20:21:23 61h 53m Famous Knight ♥ 2 Those boss fights were pretty awesome! The last one was pretty inventive too. Definitely took me a couple tries. I did run into a few graphical glitches, but other than that it felt and looked pretty solid! That pixel art is superb.
Dec 7 20:50:43 29m 20s Friends.OS ♥ 1 Good use of post processing effects. Very challenging to keep up with all of the things that keep popping up. I agree with Jons game, having a pause on the other events when a new thing pops up for the first time would help a lot in trying to learn the new mechanics, but it does make it fit with the theme, so technically I guess it's good in that sense.
Dec 7 21:10:06 19m 23s Grim Reaper ♥ 2 The mechanics feel pretty solid. It might be funner with the early enemies rebalanced to be one hit kills, then you can have them more frequently and feel like powerful grim reaper early on. Nice job overall though, you got a lot of mechanics working!
Dec 7 21:29:51 19m 45s The Legend of the Bikini Armor ♥ 2 I've always been tempted to try using GODOT for a 2D game. The gameplay feels pretty solid once your armor is gone. It seems like you do more damage as well as move faster. I think it might have been nice if she had a shield or something with the heavy armor so it was more viable.
Dec 7 21:59:37 29m 46s Sunburn ♥ 0 That was a great game! Easy to understand the concept and well executed. I agree a checkpoint system would have been nice, but I made it to the end after dying twice, so it's totally doable. I enjoyed the character design, reminds me of playing a leisure suit Larry game.
Dec 7 22:07:52 8m 15s A Spark of Light ♥ 1 Very strong ambiance. The lighting effect was well done too. I dig the take on the theme and the game play. Honestly, I could see this working well with some text that pops up telling a narrative as you progress. It gives off one of those deep and artistic type of game feels.
Dec 7 23:33:06 1h 25m Helicopter Crate Overload ♥ 1 Very challenging, but in a good way! The design works perfectly with the theme. Ran into a few areas where I could fall through the map without dying, but it was bug free other than that!
Dec 8 05:04:05 5h 30m House Party ♥ 1 That was a pretty great entry! The aesthetics are pretty pleasing, but the post processing effects got to be a bit much after awhile. I also had trouble executing any throws, but it was still fun. Gotta love jumping around and hoping you don't land on your head! Oh also, I'd suggest uploading as a zip next time, for some reason 7z didn't like your rar and I had to download and install winrar to extract it. I think that the ease of use of zips (no extra software needed on most OSs) outweighs the download size differences for something that's less than 100MB uncompressed.
Dec 8 05:26:23 22m 18s The Gravedigger ♥ 0 That was an enjoyable game! It's got a lot of the right stuff to fit that prepare and then survive loop. There's definitely some improvements that could be made, but for your second jam this is an outstanding entry! Very moody and felt like a full game.
Dec 8 06:21:26 55m 03s The Gravedigger ♥ 0 The sound effects and music were really fitting for the game. I agree with the others, the hit boxes for the character did seem a bit large. More knockback on hitting an enemy might have compensated for that, but I found it hard to not get hit when attacking as it is. The game had some great ambiance, I really dug the background art.
Dec 10 06:48:36 48h 27m Toxic Towers ♥ 2 Great job integrated the theme into a core game play feature! Level design was pretty solid. It might have been nice to have some cleansing powerups scattered around so you have more incentive to power through after touching some poison instead of restarting.
Dec 10 06:59:26 10m 50s The More the Bloodier ♥ 1 I was not expecting that music on the death screen! That was pretty fun, managed to kill 18 gladiators on my first go. Seems like strafing to the left works well enough until you start getting too many spawning at once. Plenty of things that could be added, but this felt like a pretty solid game jam game :D
Dec 10 07:35:59 36m 33s Super Trader 64 ♥ 2 I love the graphics and audio! The animations are very adorable and the textures definitely trigger the nostalgia. The gameplay felt fleshed out, but after playing for quite awhile I didn't get any yarn and kept getting a lot of trade offers for items I didn't have. I would love to see this world fleshed out and more story and mechanics added. I wasn't a fan of the camera controls though. I understand the motivation... but I think some things are better off being left in the past :P
Dec 10 07:44:41 8m 42s Smack`Em! ♥ 1 Loved the scanlines and retro feel of the screen. The gameplay loop is very solid and it felt like a polished game. Honestly, I could see this being up on a website as a released minigame and never have guessed that it was made in a game jam deadline.
Dec 10 08:00:16 15m 35s 2D Pixel Shooter ♥ 1 Impressive game considering it looks like you made your own engine! The game was a little laggy for me, but totally playable. The collision detection had a few quirks that actually added to the game. Like the enemies hit boxes seemed a bit bigger than the sprites, meaning there were cases where it felt like your bullet should have missed, but it would hit. This was fun when I managed to take out 2-3 enemies with a single shot in some instances. The enemy bullets would sometimes slide across the walls instead of colliding with them when coming in from an angle and that was a little silly looking, but didn't have a negative impact on gameplay. I think if there was one thing that this game could have really used is a game over screen with a score based on kills / floors explored.
Dec 10 08:12:56 12m 40s LootOnline ♥ 1 That was an amusing entry. Protip: once you click Play! you can then spam the space bar to keep activating it instead of clicking with your mouse. I think it could have used like 1-2 more updates after the $5 lootbox like removing the ability to buy the boxes with in game currency to really sell it getting worse the more there is :D
Dec 10 16:53:53 8h 40m Unsocial Media ♥ 1 Nice take on the theme! I think it might have worked better if the menu stayed up and the trends just changed on a timer- that way if you mistime your post it would end up going against the new trend. The reactions were pretty funny though, and the animations associated with them looked great!
Dec 10 17:00:17 6m 24s Escape Infection! ♥ 1 The antibodies that captured the virus and zoomed them off was an interesting take on these type of games. It definitely added another dimension of complexity and strategy. I do wish the player moved a little bit faster, even if that meant that the virus moved faster too for balance.
Dec 10 17:40:40 40m 23s Team leader ♥ 1 Very imposing mood going on in the game. Felt very dystopian and futuristic. I enjoyed the menu system having keyboard shortcuts for everything. Great for micro managing! Difficulty definitely ramped up on week 2, but I can see a lot of potential here. These kind of games always get me hooked =)
Dec 10 18:32:49 52m 09s 10 inches or less ♥ 1 Very solid game! Nothing stood out as unfinished or even unpolished. I could see adding in some more mechanics and having a full game out of this concept, it's really engaging! Loved the idea of having a max size before you burst, really fit well with the theme.
Dec 10 18:59:55 27m 06s My life as a cat lady ♥ 1 I considered making a similar game when I read the theme, it fits perfectly! Loved the messages as you got a new cat, very amusing. This was well executed and the chaos definitely went up as you got more and more cats.
